I have to admit, Lucas Hedges is probably one of the the most underrated actors. He was overshadowed by quite possibly one of the most beloved and popular actors currently, Timothee Chalamet. Who’s easily one of my favourite actors although I do feel that Lucas may have the same or even more talent. I think people need to look at this guy with and value him the same, he is the next big thing. He has acted in 3 really good films this year too

If you enjoy Gay, Coming of Age videos and stories, you’ll want to read Cameron DeCessna’s latest book, Clay Parker: Growing Up Gay in 1953. It’s the story of a fourteen-year-old boy confused by his feelings, thoughts and dreams as he reaches adolescence and finds his sexual interests are for other teenage boys. But it's 1953, a time of conservatism and rigid family and moral values. To top off Clay's problems, he's an orphan forced to live with an abusive aunt and uncle who openly show their distaste for the lad who was severely burned when a house fire killed his mother, father and younger brother. They would be the last persons he could turn to, to help him cope with his alien feelings. This is the story of Clay's troubles, trials and final triumph as he strives to find a family who will love him after he is forced to run away from home after a severe beating by his drunken uncle. One part of the story deals with Clay's uncomfortable experiences listening to a sermon at his aunt and uncle's church. He discovers the real meaning behind the story of Sodom & Gomorrah and how it demonstrates the Bible's condemnation of being queer. The book contains graphic sexual descriptions that may not be suitable for children under 12, although it would be highly recommended reading for gay teens to raise their awareness of the struggles of adolescent gay boys in earlier times. Cameron DeCessna is a gay novelist best known for his Jordan Dare Trilogy, released in mid-summer of 2018 and available at Amazon Kindle Books. While the Jordan Dare series is written for all readers, 12 and up, and has no adult-only content, some of DeCessna's works are more suitable for adult readers. This novel, Clay Parker: Growing up Gay in 1953, is the first of several gay, coming-of-age stories the author plans to release in late 2018 and 2019. DeCessna, born in 1951, writes from personal experience and vividly captures the difficulties faced by gay adolescents during those times. Look for Cameron DeCessna’s books and visit his author’s page at Amazon/Kindle Publishing. Clay Parker, like Boy Erased, would make a wonderful motion picture.

from timothee chalamet to nick robinson to lucas hedges. love all of them but it’s time we get gay actors to play gay roles. they’re all great allies though and play important stories out well.

    • BJ C
      BJ C 6 months ago +1

Brent Holcomb well, they aren’t hired very often, if at all, to play straight roles. And if straights play all the gay roles, that doesn’t leave anything for them. That’s the reality of hiring in Hollywood. So I don’t have a problem with only hiring gay actors for featured gay roles.

    • BJ C
      BJ C 6 months ago +1

Glenn6200 but gay actors are almost never cast for straight roles. That’s the problem. They can’t get hired to play straight, and the straight actors are playing all the gay roles. So, while you have a point in an ideal world, that’s not where we live yet. So, I have no problem with only casting gay folks to play featured gay characters, at least for a while.

    • Sally Vee
Sally Vee 7 months ago +1

@Bleh Bleh That is such a bullshit, pandering statement. Lucas claimed he was "open to love wherever it comes from." Love =/= sexuality. Who you love has nothing to do with who you're physically attracted to. Conflating the two is incredibly problematic and the LGBT community needs to stop taking lip service from actors that keep using that "fluid" line to sell tickets.

    • Baa 123
      Baa 123 7 months ago

@Tigris 797 Timothée Chalet never played a gay character. But I understand what you mean-- we need more queer actors when the subject of a film is queerness. Another factor you have to remember is that, despite it being 2018, a lot of queer actors (especially ones who are starting out) don't come out publicly in order to preserve their career. There are several reports of now openly queer actors who said their agents specifically told them not to come out.
