  • You get the JM-4 from amzn.to/VNOt5U
My website is at MasterGuitarAcademy.com and I was using a Hell Guitar from www.HellGuitars.com and a JM4 and M9 from line6.com
You can create instant jam tracks with a looper pedal, and it's terrific practice too!

Thank you Robert for a great lesson thousands and millions of guitar players like myself who are not in band are waiting for a long time. Could you please explain why you play those 3 chords? Can I chose other chords instead? What's the rule, or theory, to decide which chords for solo? And why did you play base in that fret position, can I play at a different fret position instead? Thank you so much. I subscribed your lesson and looking for more lessons on this topic.

@Robert Renman thank you Robert. Your answer is much appreciated. You gave me a good idea how to solo with loop pedal. I'm going to try it. Thanks again.

I chose those chords for no specific reason, other than I thought it sounded good. You can use whatever chords you like, but I recommend you use chords that are in the same key. You can play anywhere you like on the fretboard. Glad you enjoyed it! I should do more looping lessons.

Robert. You are amazing as always. Don't pay attention to those who say negative things. They are unhappy souls who frankly need their asses kicked! Thanks for this tip. I just bought a BOSS RC3 looper and am having time to enjoy it.

Hey thanks for this, I made a video a few days ago, dealing with loop pedals. This video will show you how to trigger drums in realtime off my pc sound into a loop pedal. This also will trigger any vs t plug-ins into your loop pedal. Check it out!

Love the tone your getting on that guitar. What amp are you using?

    • Robert Renman
      Robert Renman  3 years ago

I think I ran into a Marshall JVM. Doesn't matter so much - just a clean tube amp works for this, since the effects are from the M9, including the overdrive.

I had the same thought............when you are lowering your bass line. "Pitch 9" you saying? Is it a pedal you are using? If so what are you using exactly to lower your bass line?

For those interested I have a tc electronic ditto pedal (£105). It's brilliance is it's simplicity. One of the cheapest out there and a great addition to the pedal board and brilliant introduction to the loop experience

Good question. I'm out of the loop myself on that one. Haha!
Seriously, check out Boomerang® III Phrase Sampler, BOSS, TC Electronix, Digitech and see what they are up to. I'm sure there are many more new and cool toys out there.

Any and all! I'm not sure which "sound" you are referring to, but I used some chromaticism, blues scale and mixolydian mode. Mostly.

Thanks for the demo -- and nice soloing at the end, it had a very Steely Dan kind of sound! I was wondering what scales are useful to learn to play with a similar feel?

I'm going to get the Zoom G3X. That has a looper that you can sync to the drum machine and should be great for practice.
BTW Enjoyed the interview that you gave to my friend Larry.
