never define who you are by your job because it's so irrelevant especially bc if you get injured ie trsumatic brsin. injury makes you reassess it all. Define by family and giving to others, time, teaching to read, hospitall bisits just for others so self isn't labeled by any job.

I don't think imparting to others, whatever the subject, is necessarily key to everyone's life purpose. Sometimes life purpose may be a personal goal.

    What do you do? Observe
Who do you do it for? Nobody
What do they want or need? Nothing
How do they change as a result? What?

    personal elevator pitch... in reverse:
    1 who you are. ( I )
    2. what you do. ( help )
life purpose (I help people get great work into the world)
    3. who you do it for. ( entrepreneurs and creative)
    4. what those people want and need. (to take decisive actions)
    5. how they change as a result. ( get their greatest work into the world)
why is that formulation so powerful?
because only 2 are about yourself, the other 3 of them are about other people.
that formulation forces you to be outward facing and all the happier

    1. Who are you? (whats your name)
    2. What do you do? (What do you love to do? Is it write, talk teach, code, (what do you feel supremely qualified to teach others)

    3. Who do you do it for?

    4. What do those people want or need?

    5. How do they change as a result?
The trick is 2 of the questions are about you, 3 are about others. True success and happiness is in serving others well

This is good! However, I would have ended with this, to the audience: For those of you who found it difficult to shout out what you do, it is because you don't respect your position and feel judged by others for that role. Also, you are not happy in that role. Please take this talk and those 5 questions and, when you have time alone, go through them again. this time, think about you outside of work, how you interact with others. EG, if others like talking to you because you are a good listener and don't try to 'fix' them, [3] 'What do you do?' becomes: 'I enable others to help themselves'. [4] 'What do they need?' becomes; 'someone to talk to'. And, [5] 'What do those people get out of it?' becomes; 'Reduced anxiety, more confidence, another resource to help themselves, happier in themselves.' Think about everything you do, forget work unless it's something you really do enjoy. We are programmed to work at a job but we all have a true purpose within, go find it and be the happiest you've ever been! Think 'do what I love' first, money comes as a result, don't chase the money unless you're making a product.

it's only obvious that in a society built on a pyramidal structure of oppression where the individual is only worth his economic value the vast majority of individuals will find it difficult to find a purpose. Reason?!? Because they work for the purpose dictated by the wealthy individuals at the top. You know who lives without a purpose?!?.. Slaves. It might be coated in capitalism, equal chances and all but brothers make now mistakes when other people dictate on how to live your life it's called slavery and everyone is running away from poverty like rats climbing rocks on floods. Nobody cares about the people at the bottom and nobody will because they wash their hands claiming that it's a fair society and everyone has equal chances, and those who get out of poverty do their best to keep at the top at any cost.
Finding a purpose is very simple if you have money because money gives you freedom and the security to have the time to pursue any activity you would like but if you have no money then what you're left with is to work at low paid jobs and pay half of your salary for rent.

We manufacture many purposes for our existence. It may take five minutes some, or a lifetime for others to figure it out. Man has but one true purpose in life, and that is to reproduce. If you accomplish nothing else in your lifetime except to reproduce, and raise your children to become productive citizens in society you will have fulfilled your purpose in life. This is the supreme purpose; all else is secondary.

    1) Who are you? Philosophy and science cannot explain who we are, yet to reach the purpose of our life we must know who we are?! Absolute doom. So, i am my name! We are humans! Tautology!
    2) What do you feel qualified at? To feel qualified or to be qualified? Does qualification have anything to do with love or does it have anything to do with technical training? i love candy just as the next person. i am qualified in elementary and high school content which i detest. So, restaurant critic?
    3) Who do i do it for? Let's suppose the work it is that of a restaurant critic and it would occur for the pleasure of eating. Therefore, i would do it for myself? Or maybe a blog? Newspaper? Magazine?
    4) What do they want? About me, i would seek pleasure from food. The blog would want audience. The newspaper and magazine would want readers.
    5) How do they change due to what. About me, maybe my body would take the toll due to so many different cooking styles and abilities. Blog, newspaper and magazine would receive texts to publish and hope for readers.
So, in this supposition of life, life purpose is set?

What do you do, is really "who are you?" However, we always forget that we are human BEINGS, and NOT human DOINGS! So the question becomes, "Who are you in the process of becoming (what are you striving towards?)?" The answer to this will say more than anything else.

Let me give this another try:
    1. recall those times when you did something that didn't seem all that much trouble to you, in fact you loved doing it, and other people thought it was really special and you made them happy. If you have such a thing, God bless you: do it more!
    2. think about the possibility of doing this and making a living out of it; this is the hard part, because once people have to pay for something, it's a little harder to keep them very happy; also, while in theory people should be willing to pay for things that make them truly happy, often they waste money on stuff because everybody does so and wait for the stuff that really matters to them to happen for a bargain
    3. this often leads you to combine the thing you love to do with being an entrepeneur, which is something not everybody likes to do; the time spent on entrepeneurship and marketing may go at the expense of what you really want to do
    4. so, think about the possibility to get your money in a more mundane way, doing a regular job, freeing up maximum time to do what you really love doing
    5. yes, some people have it all: they have a vocation in life and make a ton out of it. Beware though, that for some people doing what they love can become a bit of a bore when doing it for money. The magic tends to sneak out, sometimes. Professional musicians are known to hate performing their hit single for the umptieth time, or take drugs to deal with the touring schedule. So don't look too much at other people's fortune. Remember this from Boris Becker: "I don't want to be the best tennis player in the world. I want to be the best possible Boris Becker".
