I've never understood the idea behind the huge hanger bars. Don't your arms get sore?....do your hands go dead when riding?

    • Daniel Combs
      Daniel Combs 9 days ago

@Scott hmm. The more you know!

      Scott  10 days ago

Actually it's just the opposite from what you would think. The bars rest at about shoulder height and makes a huge Improvement in comfort and riding position over drag bars. There are ridiculous ape hanger bars that literally have riders looking like they're hanging from those bars, but at this height for this bike it makes for a much more pleasurable experience on long hauls especially.

Just bought a 2000 Sportster 1200 HD w 24k for 1800 w clean title, think it was a good deal! Only had to replace battery an tire's, runs great an has no oil leaks
An that's a clean ass bike! Saving up some $ for some mods of my own. A bit hard when you have a wife an 2 kid's

It's been sold for almost a year my friend. I let that friend move on to a nice family, and got myself a new family member in the form of a 2019 Heritage 114. Shiny side up!

Hello, compliments ! Very beautifull mods! But, it's possible to know, where you have to buy shock absorbers for the saddle? Thnaks, Massimiliano.

Doest that battery cover really snap in as snugly as it looks? Haha. At the point where I'm going to drill and zip tie mine to my frame :(

I feel your pain. They are notorious for popping open. There are fixes on RU-clip. I fortunately did not have that issue with this particular bike

How good are the Burly apes? Are they made from thick walled tubing like the Biltwell which are made from .120" chromoly?

    • Scott
      Scott  10 months ago

Extremely sturdy bars. Not sure of the exact thickness. Tighten them a little past torque or they may slip a bit

Digging the seat upgrade. How's the comfort level?
I hate my stock XL1200V seats, which I believe is the same on the 48?

    • joe ramirez
      joe ramirez 11 months ago

Scott Hasty get rid of shocks, switch to the ridged struts. Then you will really feel the road.

    • Scott
      Scott  Year ago

Zero Comfort level if you're riding longer than 1 hour. Before then its perfect. I just ride it like a horse; always staying a little off the saddle - letting my legs be the shock absorbers. But that's what I love about this bike; It's raw and attaches you to the pavement where you feel every ripple and are connected with every second you ride

Half Dog I got them from Burly. There's a moment in the video when I pause over the actual package that cables came in. But here's a link
