    Republicans have a serious problem and they know it. They are caught in a web of Trumpian lies. But to repudiate that idiot they think they would lose power. Wrong. They would become respected again. But they are stupid enough not to see their way through to the light. So they remain in the dark side.

  • Philosopher of Nonsense

    I'm predicting that the government shutdown will continue another week, when the sanctions on the Russian oligarchs automatically expire (since that department seems to be conveniently shut down). This way, Trump can fulfill his promise to Putin that the sanctions would be lifted. The "caravan" was a convenient distraction and an opportunity to manufacture a fake crisis does just that.

    Why does Trump seem to have a deference to Russia? Because you don't want to upset the Russian mobsters that you owe millions to. What creates the suspicion of his being compromised by Russia? Let's start with his autocratic pattern:
    -->his Stalinist campaign chants and propaganda
    -->endless campaigning for himself
    -->wanting to break term-limit conventions to stay in power indefinitely
    -->undermining public trust in law enforcement and the press
    -->claiming baseless conspiracy theories against himself (election fraud, "fake news", "deep state", Obama wiretapping)
    -->creating a crisis to solve it, or for political and/or financial leverage
    -->taking political hostages to get his way
    -->using the military and the public as pawns for politics
    -->multiple standards of similar things, such as blaming the opposition of inciting violence, but excusing the same on his side (when he is not doing it himself)
    -->claiming that an unseen crisis exists, and that he is the only savior ("Only I know how to...")
    -->Attempting to change or circumvent the Constitution for political gain
    -->installing people into powerful positions that have a vested-interest in furthering and executing his policy even when they are not particularly qualified for the position (Steve "Grand Wizard" King, Cruella DeVos, Ben "zodiazapene" Carson, Kelly Ann CONway...basically anyone he has not fired yet for opposing him)
    -->appropriating resources for his own pet projects from necessary services that help the people (as ALL republicans do with their relentless war on Social Security, Medicare, and social service programs)
    -->using political office for personal gain
    -->not recusing himself from conflicts-of-interest
    -->ignoring critical issues with society or infrastructure in favor of his policies
    -->false self-image of perfection ("I have the best words of anyone")
    -->misogyny and/or infidelity
    -->aggrandizing his every statement ("tremendous", "the ____-est that anyone has ever ____", etc.)
    -->insecurity, and excessive defensiveness when questioned
    -->unwillingness to negotiate with political opponents
    -->willingness to cooperate with hostile foreign leaders
    -->cooperating with known terrorist factions (such as negotiating with the Taliban over Syria)
    -->empowerment of hate groups such as white supremacists and not recusing himself from their support
    -->sense of entitlement ("I can shut the government down if I want to")
    -->theatrical shows of dominance (such as Trump's military parade)
    -->history of prior deception or discrimination
    -->attempting to hamper/manipulate/discredit/destroy investigations against himself
    -->creating false support (like his paid cheerleaders at his rallies) or claiming that there is massive support for his rhetoric or himself when there is not
    -->altering misrepresenting, or creating false facts to misinform the people
    -->"State-run media of his own" (Faux Noise, Rush Limbaugh, American Nazi Weekly, Putin's Oligarchy Cookbook)
    -->nepotism (Jared/Ivanka/Eric/Don Jr.)
    -->secret meetings with dictators
    -->faking a quick solution to NK disarmament when actually doing nothing
    -->"I know more about ______ than anyone else" (that's not just narcissism here, that is a propaganda tool)
    -->making hollow promises, and not keeping them
    -->his use of the tactics of Adolf Hitler and other dictators including but not limited to:
    > "fake news"
    >"Make America Great Again"
    >"the press is the enemy of the people"
    >"lock her up" (Hillary and/or press reporting unfavorable news)
    >"outsiders are dangerous criminals and a threat to our sovereignty" (referring to his Mexican rapist/drug dealer remarks)
    >falsifying numbers for a greater appearance of his rhetoric
    >deception for self-protection (Stormy Daniels)
    >discrediting previous leaders while taking credit for their work (Trump claiming credit for "his" economy just months into office)

    Need I go on? Speculating on whether Trump is involved with and compromised by Russia is like speculating on moisture at the bottom of the ocean.We don't need Woodward and Bernstein on this one, anyone with an IQ over 50 can see that (so this excludes Trump and all of his dunce-cap-wearing cult followers). Trump is the true enemy of the people.

    “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

    --Sun Tzu, The Art of War

    It's time for McConnell to go! He can turtle his way into a nice, long retirement, far away from politics. He could even live to be up to 130 years old!!!! His term expires in 2020.
    There's two strong Kentuckians who I feel should be among the candidates to replace him:
    Thomas Massie current US House Representative member(Republican) Massie is a deep roots and down home conservative. He seems sincere and should appeal to many folks, regardless of their political affiliation. He seems to me like he has a bright political future and an eventual run for the Presidency can't be ruled out. I feel Massey is ready to take a step up in the government and run for the Senate.
    Alison Lundergram Grimes current Kentucky secretary of state(Democrat) Grimes lost to McConnell when she ran against him in 2014. But obviously times have changed since and Grimes now would have a better chance of beating McConnell. I like her views on education. And many folks feel Grimes is nice to look at.
