Beautiful coverage An0maly. Moves my heart. This is a ww awakening. Hong Kong but even more so Taiwan, is where all the inteligencia (pronounced intelijenseea) that did not assent with mainland Chinese communist regieme, took refuge. Lots of money, culture and ancient traditional Chinese art was conserved from the destructive so called "People's Revolution".
Hong Kong and Taiwan was strengthened by this Exodus and it has since then defined Hong Kong and Taiwan as a fiercely libertarian and defiant people. Since Hong Kong is right next to Mainland China, the Savage ways of mainland China are much more impactful and too close for comfort. Not so for Taiwan, a 2 day sail from mainland China in a moderate speed troller (15 or so knots average speed, 2-3 times that if a normal sailboat with good tail wind).

Anomaly, mixed capitalism is just another term that liberals made-up for Communism. China is Communist because the CPC is founded by the writings of Karl Marx and controls the distribution of goods, which they own. No one gets rich in China without selling-out their neighbors and doing the bidding of the CPC. Hong Kong is not American. It is a British enterprise. It makes no sense for them to wave American flags and sing the American national anthem. That is like you singing to Canada's flag, or Australia's flag, or anywhere else's. It is fucking stupid and meant to tug at your heart strings. The truth is that you never salute another countries flag, period. Hong Kong is not our problem. The British cannot even protect themselves from China. They sold all of their ports to the CPC, which has the power to choke their country in a heartbeat. One British school, the London School of Economics, even censored a student named Mark Wallinger, who submitted a piece of artwork where China and Taiwan were painted two different colors. After mainland Chinese students complained that Taiwan was a part of their country (it's not), the school TOOK MARK'S ARTWORK DOWN. They told him that he could put it back up if he painted them the same color. If that is not CPC censorship in Britain, I don't know what is. They have their ass in the air for China, and it is pathetic. That is why you should never listen to the BBC News. Britain is mad that we are free, and they want us to go down, too. Good thing Trump isn't playing that shit. We should really be thanking him. He is doing great with the situation and keeping us from dying in a Commie shit-hole. That is why I like Trump. How about you?

Hi I'm from Hong Kong and thanks for your attention about Hong Kong situation. Let me add some views from Hongkongers. Our main concern is that China which under Communist Party control has no freedom at all.
A girl who splashed ink on picture of China's Xi Jinping was caught into mental hospital more than 1 year and no any updates from her.
Also the Chinese Communist Party built the concentration camps in Xinjiang and more than 1.5million Muslims are being held in this camp though they didn't commit any offence.
This is the reason why Hongkongers are now fighting with the Chinese Communist Party. And we do need attention from the world so that the CCP dare not kill any of us like 30 years ago they killed the peaceful protestors on Tiananmen Square.

Sad, moving, and powerful to see them sing that. They long to be Americans or at least have the freedoms we have. They are dwindling everyday but they are more than all other countries have, especially China. They probably think about what they make in their factories and that they cant even afford to buy what we consider cheap. Sad reality is that with our horrible out sourcing practices we wouldnt be able to consider them cheap. Having a minimum wage here and then paying people in other contries a fraction of a fraction is modern day slavery. If americans only realized that these people are like our slaves by proxy. It doesnt have to be this way. We would have higher quality things and not enslave other countries. Ironic that the wealthy little socialists that i know think communism is good but then the biggest communist country in the world is longing for our country's precepts.

I live here in HKG, these Uni students and ordinary HK people went out protesting because they don't want the law and the systems being replace bit by bit by the Mainland China government. They want to remain separate with the mainland system and they just keep the one country two system running nicely. The handover from the British back to China was on July 1st, 1997 and the Chinese government can't change the laws for the next 50 years. HK has their autonomy system, it's call Special Administrative Region, one country two system!

Thanks for letting more people know what is happening in Hong Kong.
In short, people protesting against the extradition law. According to a report released by World Justice Project, judaical system in HKSAR ranked 16th and China ranked 82th in 2018-19. Due to the unfair and unclear judicial system in China, millions of Hongkongers protesting against the extradition law.
Not only because of the judicial system, but also there were several incidents disharmonize the relationship between HKSAR and China, such as a book store owner (who was selling books about June4th incident)was kidnapped by China and 2 legislative councillors were disqualified ( Given reason was they didn’t swear the oath properly. Public believes the real reason was they are from Hong Kong Independent Party)
Since the government refused to listen to the peaceful protesters , further actions were taken. Conflicts between protesters and police was started. Situation is turning worse because police arresting and hurting normal civilians. Moreover, gangsters attacked civilians and protesters on 21st/7. Police station was closed and hotline was shut down. Photos and videos of police, politician who supports government and gangsters shaking hand were published later on.
Police are abusing their power and arresting innocents. Thus, the protests aimed more than its initial. The five appeals are
    1/ Completely withdraw Extradition Bill.
2/ Retract the proclamation that protests on 9th June and 12th June were riots
3/ Withdraw criminal charges against all protesters
4/ Thoroughly investigate abuse of powers by the police.
5/ Dissolve the Legislative Council by administrative order, and immediately implement Dual Universal Suffrage.
Thanks for reading this long comment and sorry for my poor English 🙇🏻‍♂️

First learn some History en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Hong_Kong, about the Opium War, and Great Britain giving Hong Kong back to China (thanks Kingdom of opium). then realize the 99 years of agreement ended in 1997, but with an agreement that Hong Kong can have a 2 state system for 50 years. The extradition law is a break in agreement.

This is so heartbreaking to see... they just want freedom... I was moved to tears the 2nd clip. I know I am so privileged to live in America, I know that my freedom is beyond valuable. I just want that for the rest of the world, I just want everybody to have personal freedom. Seeing the video footage of people who dont have the freedoms and want it so badly, they see America for what it really is and not what the far fringed sides of the political spectrum want them to see, they see the real America. They see freedom and that is worth fighting for. They are fighting the good fight right now, I pray for them and their battle. Heart wrenching.

The problem with Hong-Kong is that is heavily politically "agenda" motivated. Imagine the contrary in America. american with the Chinese flag protesting in Washington and singing in The Chinese national hymn. Can you imagine your reaction. People will believe to an invasion. Secondly why there is in Honk-Kong american agents teaching people how to protest and organised them self. They are probably the most educated and sophisticated protester in the world. They have a sign language to transmit message and ask for some object like gas mask, water of bottle, umbrella. And I did not even touch the subject of the foreign founding and all the money other countries send in support to the protesters. Excuse me is this not what people mean by collusion or foreign interventionism? In the other side it as been make obvious that the TRIAD and other local mafia are working with the Chinese mainland government. Reason why you will never see any protest in Macau that is just next to Hong-Kong. So Yes Hong-Kong is a mess. And it's not a mess that the Chinese government wanted to start. It will perhaps be more interesting to educate the american population of the risk and consequences of the aggressive activities of the american government in the world. Do you really want to be part of this?
