“I’m pretty sure I’m worthless if I can’t be of service”
Even as someone who has no siblings, this hit hard
E
.
I really love this song,
I keep listening to it.
There are some things, which I can relate to. But it emphasises the importance of asking for help.
As a mom and wife...I feel this
@felipe sene is english not your native language?, if it is then your a child
People love how she's protecting Mirabel throughout this song. She even fixes her glasses.
My older sis is not this helpful or kind for me
Yes!
WOWW YOU DON'T READ MY PROFILE PICTURE 😶😶❌❌
Ok I subbed
Yes!
The degree of multi-level symbolism in this movie is amazing. It puts most movies made for adults to shame.
This song hits hard. I'm not even physically strong but having to deal with the pressure and expectations from my family as the older sibling is hard.
The same, I cried while I was listening the song
Feel that
"I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service"
"Give it to your sister your sisters older give her all the heavy things we can't shoulder"
"Give it to your sister your sisters stronger see if she can hang on a little longer"
"Give it to your sister it doesn't hurt and see if she can handle every family burden"
THESE LINES HIT HARDER THAN THE SINGER OF THE SONG
AGREE
It’s the dancing donkeys for me they get it!
It even hit harder than Will Smith.
Wut son?
This song has been stuck in my head for over 24 hours and I’m not mad about it :))))
Same but 6 months
Yess!!! Everybody loves "Don't talk about Bruno" but this is my absolute favourite!❤️ Love the meaningful lyrics and the beat is sick 😜
Dude, literally 2 weeks for me. Its on a contest loop and I too, am not mad about it! (The people listening to me hum it for that long might disagree though! 😉)

My younger sister saw Encanto before me, and said Surface Pressure immediately made her emotional thinking of me.
As an eldest sibling with anxiety coming from a broken home, this song hit hard ❤
My little sister sent it to me. She watched it before me. I cried my heart out. It is so tiring being the dependable one
I just sent this video to my big sister and said the same exact thing ☺️
@Carrie McMullin you should definitely share it with her!
I feel this 💜 I'm the little sister and I kinda want to share it with my sister, kinda don't wanna trigger her you know
Dont worry, you're not the only one listening to this on repeat❤️
Yeah gonna keep doing it until I sing it without a single mistake. And then maybe some more.
UNDER THE SEERRRFACE!!! That’s 📠 if I’ve ever seen it!
Woah
Are you all crying too?
"Give it to your sister it doesn't hurt and see if she can handle every family burden, watch as she buckles and bends but never breaks. No mistakes." This song sang by Jessica Darrow is a rlly relatable song to all the Older siblings in the world who work hard just to make their family happy, this is also considered as "The National Anthem of All Older Siblings/children"
I love how they made Luisa strong, but also beautiful, instead of following the “if a woman is strong and masculine, she also is goofy” and they also made her voice beautiful, another thing is they normally give strong characters a dark and dusky skin tone, and the “perfect” characters a lighter skin tone, but they did the opposite! My point is, I just love the character designs for this movie
@Diamond Miner if its all you ever see its all you ever expect and then when people say "That's diversity" they're wrong because its not diversity, its profiling.
@Diamond Miner Nothing, just like there's nothing wrong with slim female characters. The problems occur when it's ALL we ever see. It's nice to see some variation.
@Diamond Miner There's nothing wrong with it, specifically, but it's good (and important) to see other representation as well.
@Diamond Miner stereotypes
What’s wrong with being strong, masculine, and also goofy? What’s wrong with being strong and also “dark-skinned”?
the fact she’s pouring out her suffering to this song and still protecting mirabel. she loves her family and doesn’t want to disappoint everyone since she “strong” i literally love her omg

Hi 🌸🌺🌸💐🌷
“Under the surface, I think about my purpose, can I somehow preserve this?”
“If I could shake the crushing weight of expectation, would that free up some room for joy or simple pleasure. Instead we measure, this growing pressure, keeps growing, keep going, because all we know is pressure.”
This hits so damn hard.. I feel like everyone can relate. We always look for external work and validation so that we can feel like we’re worth something in the world. Everyone looks and acts how we are expected to. When we don’t do that, people tell us to do better. They tell us that we aren’t good enough.
Society only measures a person by all the made up expectations that are pushed upon us. It’s the reason why most of us live in fear. Always trying to be good enough. Always trying to be worth something.
If we live by everyone else’s expectations, we will never be good enough. Never. That’s why we have to be courageous enough to be ourselves. No matter what everyone else thinks.
Maybe having some expectations isn't so bad. It can make us better people, it's the amount of pressure that's put on us, that can make us a diamond but we cannot lie of our doubts
People love her voice, it stands out among other Disney female characters.
why do you start your comments like that
what about isabella
I'm 32 years old and an older sister. I've never seen this movie but heard a clip of this song somewhere and decided to check out the full version. It made me cry.
My younger sister made me watch the movie just for this song. She is my Mirabel... I've spent my life looking out for my family, my adorable, kind but naive parents, my troubled sister and in the last few years, my husband who comes from a screwed up family who eventually disowned him... I've never thought of not being there for my folks - they are mine and I can take whatever life throws at us as long as I can protect them... But it's not easy! Being the one shouldering all the responsibility is hard! And thanks to this movie and this song specifically, my family openly acknowledged my part in our lives. Not that they've ever been unkind or unfair... But it isn't taken for granted anymore that I'll take care of things. They now take care of me too... And it feels wonderful!

Ps… no fren!! She doesn’t know what that means X delete it! Hahahaha you’re gonna make me choooke!!! FRRENNN STAQPPPP HAHHHA

I'm 30 and saw this movie not too long ago and I loved it. I totally recommend seeing it. The main song "We don't talk about Bruno" is just as deep, if not deeper, in meaning than this song. The difference is, you have to watch the entire movie to feel the full impact of that song.
I’m the youngest and I literally clean up everyone’s mistakes and do everything right. This song hit home.
WOWW YOU DON'T READ MY PROFILE PICTURE 😶😶❌❌
Mirabel's gift is to turn people's inner thoughts and emotions into fully choreographed music videos
Edit: holy shite this blew up
she did not get a gift
@Rock loo99
@Harrison Brawl Stars she does, she is able to restore the casita with the door at the end
True.
This song is basically my life. I'm so happy they made a song how it feels like to be in this situation. It really means something, a lot more than the creators can even think.
"Was Hercules ever like 'yo, I don't wanna fight Cerberus?'"
Yes, he 100% was, he didn't want to do any of his labors-he was forced into it by Hera. I don't know if it's intentional, but it adds depth to the lyric knowing that Hercules was forced into doing his 12 labors by his awful family situation.
@Samuel Hagos No, though he was tricked into killing his mortal family if I remember correctly.
Did he kill his entire family?
@Ineisha Paredes Thanks!
Love your name
this song has a deep, deep meaning... Luisa's scared to admit she's under pressure because if she does, she thinks the others will think she's weak. Mirabel, in All Of You, helps her with this by saying DIRECTLY TO HER that she's more than just her gift. Luisa also admits she sometimes cries in that same song, and OH MAH GAWSH THIS SONG IS DEEPER THAN THE MARIANA TRENCH
This song immediately reminded me of my husband. He is my rock and takes such good care of not only me but his family also. He's a hell of a worker and never complains.
I just love how throughout this song she's protective of Mirabel, like how she fixes her glasses its just a small but cute lovable gesture 🥺

“I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service”
That line is like a gut punch every time
This song is by far the best song of this movie, not only the best but most people can relate to in one way or the other.👍
This is the best song in Encanto, hands down! It's crazy to me that We Don't Talk About Bruno gets all praise. Don't get me wrong, it's also a fantastic song, but Surface Pressure is just SO good, and works perfectly as a stand-alone song as well as within the context of the film. Then again, as the eldest of 6 children myself, I suppose I may be a tad biased. It's so relatable!
Honestly I love this song better than “We don’t talk about Bruno” the message behind it hits hard. I feel so bad for her, she’s pressured to always handle everything that her family burdens
The line "Was Hercules ever like 'Yo I dont wanna fight Cerberus'" is severely underrated in my opinion because this line equates the duty/responsibility that was expected of Hercules to the duties/responsibilities Luisa just assumes
My favorite line
I like that line
@Chantzas McElroy While most tasks you see her handle aren't assumed and are actually plain as day you can see in the same scene where the line is that luissa instead of simply saving mirabel assumes the responsibility Hercules ran from but besides that I totally agree with you I didn't even think about hera's tasks for Hercules
its my favorite line actually-
@Jose Perez no lol
I love this song because it delivers emotional punches on the gut like "I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service" and in the same breath it gives you donkey unicorns flying through pink clouds and it's just so perfect
Can't forget the part when she says "give it to your sister it doesn't hurt and see if she can handle every family burden" like that moment and watching the obvious pain in her eyes.
The more I listen to it, the more I like this original version. She definitely puts more heart into the words, so even though I don't like her deeper voice, I appreciate her effort and work in it.
(Edit) On a side note: the creepy-ass dancing donkeys is a 10/10 on my weird-shit-o-meter.
Her adjusting mirabel's glasses is such a cute little moment... it's small but shows how much she cares for her sister.
This was so incredibly well done. Say what you will about Disney, but DONT EVER SAY they cannot make a phenomenal movie or captivate an audience 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love how she's protecting Mirabel throughout this song. She even fixes her glasses
@Viewer Online101 it's all imagery, she's under so much pressure she wants to protect Mirabel and doesn't want her to feel the same amount of pressure as her
My ONLY complaint about this song/ part of the movie is the cutting. I so wish they had focused more of Luisa and not the "antics" happening in the background with the cruise ship, Hercules, etc. I feel like they were going for a Maui vibe "your welcome" but got carried away and veered into dreamworks territory.
@Lauren C x da aass SSD desde dirección á
And when mirabel starts to get worried, Luisa reassure’s her with a smile. :) 2:24
And that definitely makes her seem like the oldest even though she's a middle kid
As the oldest sibling who faced a lot of family drama and was always expected to be the strong one, I relate to this so much.
When she’s losing her power, her voice becomes more feminine. I love this. I relate so much with Luisa
This song is just pure perfection, and I feel it could be the perfect example of the disease stress. Along with I believe we all can relate to at least some parts of this song in one way or another.
That was the true Mirabel's gift: getting into people's minds and discover their true feelings.
"I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service"
That line is like a gut punch every time.

@smarty pants You don't seem so emotianally smart in the pants.
@Danielle Adams I would argue the opposite, i feel isabella's song is about how she doesnt want to be perfect. the song is more about how she grew up constantly being used for chores and menial labor so she thinks is she cant do these things, and do them perfectly, she would be useless
Quickly has become my favorite song in the movie. And Mirabel's "hey... where you going?" to the donkeys gets me chuckling every time.
This song is filled with hidden details and I love it.
"I'm as tough as the crust of the earth is."
The crust is the WEAKEST layer of the earth.
The reason there's donkeys all over this song?
Donkeys are beasts of burden, forced to carry the weight others put on them.
"Was Hercules ever like: Yo, I don't wanna fight Cerberus?"
Accoding to the myth, Hercules didn't actually have to fight Cerberus. He just had to capture him, and he did so by going up to Hades and asking for his help.
All those dangers that befall Mirabel in the song?
Even though Luisa rescues Mirabel during all of them, there's ALWAYS something that happens next, showing that Luisa feels she can't stop for even a moment.
I’m glad you addressed the common misconception that Hercules had to fight Cerberus when in fact he didn’t. He did, however, fight Cerberus’ brother Orthrus, the two-headed dog of Geryon, when taking Geryon’s cattle.
@Luisa Madrigal Oh hey Luisa!
You are... *smart*
MIRABEL!!
I love that Luisa got to rest at the end. Put the biggest smile on my face.
As the oldest in my family, when I got in trouble with my younger sister, it was always "You're the big brother...you should know better and be setting a better example." However, if my sister ever did anything wrong it was shrugged off as "Well she's just a kid...things happen." So yeah...this song hits home...
You can tell she’s such a good sister the way she takes care of mirabel
(Edit) Omg th so much for the likes ahh!
Look at mirabel in your picture

Yeah she is better sister than isabella
The whole thing in this movie shows how detrimental the gifts really are. Superpowers aren't all they're cracked up to be. Luisa here makes it clear that she feels like she's hopeless if she doesn't take and hold everything thrown at her. I'm sure there's a lot of elder siblings who also feel that way. Mirabel is almost lucky that she has no gift - her gift is that basically to look from the outside of the family, which gives her an ability to help in a way those on the inside cannot.
@CeuKnola Mirabel's gift is that she is her ability to understand people. She is the heart of the family and her community.
Well, i dont think its a good thing that her lack of a gift dubs her to be the family therapist, but everything else i agree with.
@had better days Antonio will tell the people why the donkeys keep running away. Throughout our history, we've exploited animals for our own benefits. Why break a horse, shove a bit in her mouth and house her in a tiny stall when she was meant to be running free among a herd of her friends?? Get a car!
@had better days Antonio only just got his gift. Alma's already trying to figure out a way for animal communication to benefit the community. Just about everything is about using their gifts to help and if you don't have one, sit there and do nothing. The point here is that you should be valued because you are you, not because you can do something. And Mirabel is not nothing because she has no gift. Julieta actually says that to her at one point, but she doesn't get support from enough people to truly believe it until her abuela believes it too.
Isabella felt trapped with being perfect that she never got to know her real self. Dolores felt like she had to keep secrets and did it better by keeping Bruno hidden. Papa has so much anxiety she can't fully control. Camilo somewhat is adultified and like Luisa has to always be there. Julietta works the hardest as we can see she has the most gray hair. Antonio got off easy, but Bruno had it far from it.
"I glow because I know what my worth is." Man, that line is everything.
It's mad how accurate this shows the struggles and pressures of looking after your younger siblings and making sure they don't have to go through any bullshit or hurt
@suggmu2233 bruh
No it doesn't it shows the immaturity of little crybabies who think having to help family is a hard task in life
This song and “Did You Call Me” by Lukaz are some of the only things getting me through tough times. I hope everyone is doing well. I love you 🌹
The facial expressions in this movie are everything to me. They do a really good job of enhancing and enforcing the idea and mood of the scene.
Same! I find myself rewatching this movie just to see the character’s animations! Every time I see Felix I get this strong feeling like I’ve actually met that guy before hahah. I swear I’ve been around a guy with those mannerism before, but I think it’s an amalgamation of Latin culture. Even my wife who is Italian reminds me a lot of Pepa!
I love movies that you can watch it several times and see something different each time. This movie was well made.
This movie is a masterclass on cloth simulation. The way all the dresses flow. The shirts rincle and stretch. I can not get over the fabrics in this movie.
I know right, it’s really well made
Lyrics :
I'm the strong one, I'm not nervous
I'm as tough as the crust of the earth is
I move mountains, I move churches
And I glow 'cause I know what my worth is
I don't ask how hard the work is
Got a rough indestructible surface
Diamonds and platinum, I find 'em, I flatten 'em
I take what I'm handed, I break what's demanding, but
Under the surface
I feel berserk as a tightrope walker in a three-ring circus
Under the surface
Was Hercules ever like, "Yo, I don't wanna fight Cerberus?"
Under the surface
I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service
A flaw or a crack
The straw in the stack
That breaks the camel's back
What breaks the camel's back, it's
Pressure, like a drip, drip, drip that'll never stop, whoa
Pressure that'll tip, tip, tip 'till you just go pop, whoa
Give it to your sister, your sister's older
Give her all the heavy things we can't shoulder
Who am I if I can't run with the ball?
If I fall to
Pressure like a grip, grip, grip, and it won't let go, whoa
Pressure like a tick, tick, tick 'til it's ready to blow, whoa
Give it to your sister, your sister's stronger
See if she can hang on a little longer
Who am I if I can't carry it all?
If I falter
Under the surface
I hide my nerves, and it worsens, I worry something is gonna hurt us
Under the surface
The ship doesn't swerve as it heard how big the iceberg is
Under the surface
I think about my purpose, can I somehow preserve this?
Line up the dominoes
A light wind blows
You try to stop it tumbling
But on and on it goes
But wait, If I could shake the crushing weight of expectations
Would that free some room up for joy
Or relaxation, or simple pleasure?
Instead, we measure this growing pressure
Keeps growing, keep going
'Cause all we know is
Pressure like a drip, drip, drip that'll never stop, whoa
Pressure that'll tip, tip, tip 'til you just go pop, whoa-oh-oh
Give it to your sister, it doesn't hurt
And see if she can handle every family burden
Watch as she buckles and bends but never breaks
No mistakes just
Pressure like a grip, grip, grip, and it won't let go, whoa
Pressure like a tick, tick, tick 'til it's ready to blow, whoa
Give it to your sister and never wonder
If the same pressure would've pulled you under
Who am I if I don't have what it takes?
No cracks, no breaks
No mistakes, no pressure
bro u copied the whole lyrics
I love this song! It is my favite
You’re very good in the lyrics ♥️👍🏻👍🏻
The animation of this song in Luisa constantly protecting Mirabel is an excellent choice. Really emphasizes her strength and bravery but also emphasizes how she views/feels about herself
Luisa's voice actor has the perfect voice for her song
What's amazing here is that although they chose to make Luisa *physically* Herculean, the pressure she feels can apply to anyone counted on to stay strong for others.
I love that her insecurities aren't "I'm not pretty like Isabella" or something like that.
She is proud of who she is, but it also comes with its own insecurities. "Am I strong enough? Can I carry all of this? I have to, the family depends on me"
Gotta love Luisa.
@Lauren C hate to break it to you but the line is "the beauty and the brawn do no wrong" "The beauty" is Isabella and "the brawn" is Luisa.
I loved Luisa 😂
@Sara Robinson Despite myself I laughed at that.
@karen mad that was uncalled for, if you lived in a swamp you'd be an allihater
She’s prettier than Isabella, just that her bodily features are masculine
I just love through the whole video Luisa is constantly keeping Mirabel from danger by for instance pulling her out of the geysers and shoving her behind her as the tornado approaches. She is the defender of the family in the most literal sense and shows it here.
"Give it to your sister and never wonder if the same pressure would've pulled you under" that line HITS because we don't really think about the burdens we put on other people that way all the time
WOWW YOU DON'T READ MY PROFILE PICTURE
This is the best Disney song i had ever heard.
Lyrics of this song are heart wrenching.
Once again, the best song, with deepest meaning, isn't most famous. I'm sure many, many people can relate to the message in this one.
To me, the best part is that Mirabel isn’t ever afraid of Luisa. She shows confusion and concern when Luisa starts freaking out, but Luisa is never treated as a freak or monster. Instead, Mirabel clings to her sister for comfort and protection. I love it
I do not like this song
The donkeys backed away at the start but mirabel didn’t
Hey
The only part at the begining where she looks concerned is bc she starts talking about how shes not nervous because shes the strong one, and ite played for comedy since shes starts the song seemingly out of nowhere
I dont understand how this is somethi g to be noticed? Lol... i never onced thought of anyone being afraid of her... in this world theres magic, lol, so it seems they are accustomed to her having super strength, and shes a kindhearted soul, so i just cant see anyone pointing out that her sister wasnt afraid of her as a misable detail, lol
I just love how Luisa immediately starts spitting fire after Mirabel points out her eye twitching
2:32 I love this part ESPECIALLY Mirabel's expression when the house fell on her, that's top tier
@Luisa Madrigal i know
She thought luisa died
I WATCHED THAT PART JUST AS I SAW THE COMMENT XD
This is the best song of this year....the feelings, lyrics, emotions.
As the oldest kid I've always had impossible expectations so this hits hard
She’s the strongest of the family not because of her magic, but for barring a lot of the weight of her family’s problems.
@Julia Golberg Maybe if they had a fully fleshed out show, I would like this each character has it's own personality flaws underneath everything and could undergo massive character arcs
AGREED 100000000000000000000000%
Yep. Her physical strength/power represents her familial burdens that older siblings tend to have. Even though Isabella is the eldest, she was pushed into different expectations... And just like Luisa, her power represents that too - making everything beautiful with roses and flowers (superficial beauty). At least until her powers grow and it's not just about pretty flowers but the power of growth, and life, and abundance. So many layers to this movie.
@mitre she is baring the burden that Mirabel is carrying. She keeps talking about the burden being given because she is the older sister. She is actually the middle child. She is specifically speaking of Mirabel. Whether she meant to or not, Mirabel has been burdening her older sister with her own issues.
I think people miss that Mirabel needed to open her eyes to who her family truly are just as much as her Grandmother. Mirabel did a lot of projecting who she thought her family was based on their gifts. In order to save the miracle Mirabel had to see past their abilities to see them. Just like her family had to learn to see past her lack of gift to see who she truly was. Mirabel needed just as much revelation as the rest of her family.
Honestly thats kinda my problem with this film. I see what they were trying to show for Luisas and Isabellas characters. They’re both the older siblings and have to be perfect or dependable in their own ways, and flaws aren't tolerated, so they’re both under pressure to upkeep that perfection expected of them, but it seems that the film rushed it without showing any noticeable sign of struggle until the last second, which just makes the characters appear flat. Those arcs could’ve been executed much better had they taken the time to develop these characters a little more, rather than just quickly showing a snapshot of their struggles through a song and calling it a day
Anyone that has been the sole protector or provider for another knows the feeling @ 2:33. Well depicted in the inwardly fearful look followed by the determined frenetic energy. Hits deep.
"Who am I if I can't carry it all?"
Oooooh, there's the line that did it for me. Sigh.
I'm proud of y'all, no matter how much pressure (internal/external) you're under
If I falter...
my sister passed away in 2011...I had to be strong for our mom...for her kids...for out whole family...I didn't get to grieve...11 yrs later I still havent...cause I had to be the strong one... I feel this song so hard...I still have to protect my own kids..raise them...sometimes I just want joy...what breaks the camels back
Luisa would be proud of you 💪 keep going
The saddest thing I noticed, is at 1:08, Luisa pushes Mirabel out of the way of the falling boulders. Didn't even think about doing it. Protecting has become instinctual, no matter how much weight she has to carry herself. Moves her out of the way 3 times without thinking about it.
And the ship with the iceberg. Luisa is the ship, Abuela is the captain. It doesn't matter how much damage Luisa takes on, because Abuela knows she's *fine* and thus doesn't even bother charting a course around the iceberg. To Abuela, Luisa is the unsinkable "Titanic", so it doesn't matter if she crashes head on. The damage keeps stacking because Abuela refused to see how her expectations of her family were causing harm.
And the look and act of resignation at from 2:36 to 2:42 hurt my heart.
Also: "Give it to your sister and never wonder if the same pressure would have pulled you under." Ouch.
“Give it to your sister and never wonder if the same pressure would’ve pulled you under.” My favorite line, it really cuts through the message of the whole song.
@Fey __ Yes, I can see that. I am an only child myself, and it resonates with me too.
@Jade Boldrini my mother is the same in her family. This hit us hard because I’m the older sister and she’s the strong little sister. *Hugs* it’s a heavy burden.
That one is the one that gets me, especially her singing it with a smile 🥲 it really portrays how the "strong ones" are just supposed to brush off that pain and be chipper about it
Im the “little sister” but I’m actually the BIG one. Life’s not been easy, way too much stress in the family and me having to feel all the pressure. Totally relate
THE only thing is that my brother just don’t really care for anything I’ve done and still do for him
That's my favorite line, too! So many good ones in this song, tho!
This song slaps.
Lyrically and melodically. 🔥🎵
Do t you just love this song? And the message 💚
This song makes me feel like I wanna cry so badly... I love it :3 my most faves song in this movie,
although the lyric is slightly the opposite of me, but since the song is technically about "Even a strong person has their own burden or fragile in certain ways" I could relate to it...
This song caught my heart, disney plz release this on spotify. The VA did a great job on this song
“I’m pretty sure I’m worthless if I can’t be of service” hit me like an arrow to the heart. Some tears broke out immediately.
@Kevin Villagran
Especially as a mother
@Scribs_mp4 begs you to ask are they hearing what you hear...and seeing how it relates to you?
well your not worthless...we all have a place here on earth
i relate cuz my parents treat me like im worthless if i cant help them...
I like how confused Mirabel is when the family breaks into song but she rolls with it as best as she can
After listening to this song it definitely reminds me of how my parents must have felt all these years. Now as an adult, I understand more and try to share some of these burdens with them
This song reminds me of my sister and I feel things everytime I listen to it😭
I love it when she says "no mistakes" right after the house falls on her. So good.
Casita and the family in Casita (the madrigals) is like wth was that?
I like it a lot
I adore how comfortable this singer is in this vocal range, we don’t hear a lot of deep woman’s voices and it’s so interesting to hear. It reminds me of bo burnham’s vocal performance, while he isn’t doing insane runs and hitting whistle notes, he’s adapted it to fit into his voice and music. Same can be said about the voice actress
Edit: so a lot of people are saying that her voice sounds forced… and uhhh I’d just like to specify that that’s LITERALLY Luisa’s entire character??? Being forced to be something she’s not?
@buecherdrache1 I think that may have been on purpose. She puts on a deeper voice to play the part of the unfaltering wall.
@ImLostPlsHelp k so what?
Sounds more like auto tune to me
@buecherdrache1 absolutely. I’m a contralto/tenor/bari and a bit of bass. I’d love to see lower singing women represented in Disney as well. But as a physically strong woman also, I love Luisa’s character so much! I relate to her wanting to be strong for others but feeling the pressure a lot.
@Dan get help mate
“I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service”
Yeah, That line hits home
This is gonna be a masterpiece. Future will talk about it❤
It's so funny 😃 The way she dance is so funny The end is so perfect and peaceful
“Who am I if I can’t carry it all?” Defines me in my family.
“I’m pretty sure I’m worthless if I can’t be of service” hits the feels so hard.

This line is exactly why I've forced and faked smiles at work while I'm in pain so severe I think I'm going to faint. "Surface Pressure" perfectly describes what it's like to live with invisible illness.
I need to start checking my YT notifications more often.
2 days and the likes have doubled
*_wow_*
As the eldest sister, I felt personally attacked by this song. I started crying when I heard it in the movie. As the child that has had all of the expectations, responsibilities, and generational trauma heaped onto her, I felt like I could relate to this song so much. I felt seen. I have a younger sister, and she will never have to face the same expectations and pressure that we’re forced upon me since day one.
As the oldest in my family it’s very relatable. I’m 28 and my mother complains to me and expects me to solve her issues for her. When her shower broke, she didn’t call her landlord she asked me. When something at my grandmas house breaks I’m they first person asked to fix it. I’m expected to be able to fix everything and do everything and when something doesn’t go the right way I’m also the one who gets scolded for it. I’d do anything for my family and have done many things, but even now I barely get any recognition for my efforts, it’s just simply expected of me.
I love Luisa's dance moves.
And I totally LOVE the beginning of this song
Its so good I always sing it and I have the same voice love it 💕💕❤❤
"See if she can handle every family burden" Holy shit that hit hard.
language
Yo
Yup 🥲🥲
Awww. Y’all are making me cry. I’m the eldest and I guess as a golden child I felt this and the Isabella song. But those of you who had to be second parents to your siblings, y’all are the VIPs and I’m sorry it hurt you so much.
This hit me very hard and I loved this song so much.Especially the part where she said "Give it to your sister it dosen't hurt and see if she can handle every family burden."I think it's hard being the strongest one in your family, because everyone will rely on you to take care of heavy things,so you don't want to let them down.I think Luisa is childish because she never got to enjoy her childhood.I'm the oldest sibling in my family so understand very clearly.
I love this song!!! Can't stop listening 😍
Love this song!
The visuals and choreography of this song are so amazing. Everything feels so constantly dynamic and MOVING. There's hardly a down moment, it really pumps you up and feels like the plots developing instead of feeling like it's wasting time singing. Amazing
This song hits right in the feels, being a responsible older sister that is constantly strong is draining
Taliyah hey girl it's your girl Leila I'm just hanging around in the store walking and I love your videos they're so cool I really want you to get to 100 million views so bad but I was just checking on you girl and I hope you have fun at your house I don't know where are you at the park yet bye girl
Yaasssd i feel what you are feeling
For me its the younger sister (me) carrying the weight of my older siblings and parents.
I turned and just watched my husband when this song got going. Mentioned it to him afterwards and he just teared up.
Yeah
i really love how this song has no person as a focal point. it is open to be taken for anyone that has ever felt overwhelmed.
The beat drop is everything I love this song
I almost cried when I first heard this song. It conveys how heavy expectations can be It makes me sad to hear that Luisa thinks she's worthless if she's not strong... :(
I love this song❤️
Everyone’s talking about “we don’t talk about Bruno” but I like this song it’s pretty good. Props to Jessica Darrow her vocals are insane. Was gonna skip this movie but I’m so glad I watched it. I hope they make a Disney+ series for the other characters. Also fun fact you might not have noticed the ship says madrigal.
@Mac Sibbles I hope they make a disney plus series for the other characters like Camilo and Dolores because we didn’t really see a lot of the side characters. I also want to see what their room designs would be.
@Mac Sibbles Yea I’m so glad I watched it wasn’t expecting a musical movie like this.
@CinnamonTroll Yea I feel it’s better than the Bruno one
@Robert Barnes Yea that’s what I feel too
this song was (in my opinion) way better than Bruno's. I think Bruno's song is just catchy
You can tell she's such a good sister the way she takes care of mirabel
2:30 onwards. There was a very short moment of freedom then the pressure just came back. And like she said, like a drip drip that will never stop. Seeing her carrying the load as it continued to add on.
I loved reacting to this song on my channel. One of Disney's more thought of songs which is why it is so good.
