  • Hey world! I made a 3D printed DAFT PUNK Helmet!!!
This is the first part of the 3 (or 2?) video series.
I decided to make a Daft Punk Helmet for Maker Faire Bay Area 2018 and it took me a month to make.
In this video I built a lab in my living room, made a box and frame for vacuum forming,
3D printed the visor for the helmet, and attempted to vacuum form. Stay tuned for the next few steps.
Subscribe to my channel if you’d like to be the first to know when I publish the next video. Comment below and me know what other builds you would like to see.

    Code on, dudes and dudettes!

I am in the middle of wiring and used the files you have provided however there is an issue and wanted to know if you could forward me the info to the people who actually programmed the files in Arduino for you. Thanks a bunch

@boneyard101 I was thanking my sponsor 96 Boards. The 2 yellow wires are for adding another input for lights on the sides (ears).

@Estefannie Explains It All Thank you for your reply, I thought I saw in one of your videos giving thanks to someone for helping you with the programming. we have sent a couple messages to you previously and was hoping you could assist with a few questions. I have sent you an email to the email that is listed in your about me section here.
We have all the parts wired, however when we upload and run it, the lights are on blue, not solid but flickering very fast. The pot with the dial and board dont seem to be working. Is it possible that you can offer some assistance? On your board there were also 2 yellow wires that I was unsure for their purpose as well. Thank you so much

Hey I have a potential collaboration idea:
I was thinking it would be cool if you built something that communicates with an app over Bluetooth. I could build the app and you obviously the "thing".
I have an Arduino and hc05 Bluetooth module so I could test. Then when it's done I can just send you the app code and you can install on a phone and control the thing you build.

  • Negative Positive

Great video.. Very fun to watch.
I made both Daft Punk helmets last year. Working (almost) everyday both helmets took me almost 9 months to make from Pep model to chroming.
I feel your pain on this build. There is A LOT of involvement with it and it is a Colossal pain in the ass.

Taking my Like back...and then giving it back to you. That was awesome! 😀 Very inspiring and fun, except for the 3D printing which just gave me flashbacks to all the evenings where I've spent the entire night in my workshop without a single successful print 😭 Hope you're having fun in NOLA, my favourite city in the world!!! ❤️
