trading cards are NOT toys. It seems to me that mass-produced toys that are valuable are more likely to be re-discovered than one-off special editions. This idea for a list should be re-done, with actual mass-marketed toys, rather than prototypes (which didn't go to market), trading cards (they aren't toys, as I said), or one-off specially-crafted items, which would never see the light of day in a child's hands (or toy box). When you start the video saying "you may have these valuable toys in your toy box), you obviously are NOT speaking of diamond-encrusted one-offs, trading cards, or prototypes. Do some research about collectable toys before just finding valuable iterations of toys based on name alone, THEN make a list. That would be far more impressive.

I do know a girl that has a rare Jordan Rookie card it was worth $1000’s in the 90’s when she inherited it and she said she would hand it down to her girl so it’s still in their possession.

I save money and buy my clothes from seller I spend less, so I have money for the good things in life. Diamonds and gold do me no good but having Playstation VR and the new Xbox are delivering experiences that would have been worth billions just a few years ago when it was physically not available. I remember paying $15 at the movie theater to use VR when Lawnmower Man was out. The rich would have paid a trillion dollars for what we have now costing us a few hundred, it is all relative. I think it is best to be happy in the now. I can get good deals and feel rich when I shop with reputable sellers like with all the money I saved in other areas of my life. Heck, I even bought a water distiller so I don't have to buy bottled water anymore.

  • KingJoe's Kingdom of Collectibles

I agree with what some people say about the prototypes and the diamond encrusted toys, They should never have been on this list. What should be on the list are toys that were available to the public and that were played with by actual children. Most toys now are made for collectors. Anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

You should do a list of only toys that were originally mass produced, not one of a kind items. The opening implies these are toys anybody could potentially have.

I dont understand why the kombi was a prototype

    • Krystal Skye
      Krystal Skye 8 days ago

they ALL start as prototypes. Some go to test-markets (are given to employees to bring home or do what they want with)so there are more of them. Others are used mainly for testing purposes for "functionality" and whatnot. Once they get approved, they get mass-produced for market. the rear-loading ones weren't mass-produced. They failed testing, which is why they were re-designed. Pretty sure there weren't any of the prototypes mentioned in this video, that were packaged in boxes (or blister packs, as is the case with die cast cars).
