    Good day guys :)
I know you are wondering that why i turn this compressor into engine is because i want to explore my knowledge into something different that i never tried before.

Metal and aluminum is better. But i used transparent acrylic because its more fun to see what happen inside while running :)

@Coil Smoke I guess we will never know unless he does a follow up and has kept the other parts but my guess is 350-400 watts.

    • Coil Smoke
      Coil Smoke 10 days ago

@Luke Pence Seems the rotor and stator for a generator are already included in the electric motor that runs the compressor. There is no field coil but permanent magnets drilled into the rotor will produce AC electricity in the factory motor windings. You have a basic alternator ! It has to work but I'm guessing 50 to100 watts max

This is brilliant. Perhaps a sheet of transparent silicone would work well as a gasket, protect the acrylic from the heat and still allow you to see the flame.

It was much fun, as long as it lasted. Acrylic etc are vulnerable to heat and most samples of gasoline with adulteration and additives, paint thinner or other petrochemical solvents. I am glad that it worked and brought cheers to many 👏👏👏👏👏👍🚴

I think it was a great project, why not turn it into a full working gas engine, use metal coverings etc..
Could be a little workhorse engine for small machinery.
    Cool project tho.!!

The acrylic is interesting. Aside from that, I would say that the carburetor needs smaller venturi. I think it was running too rich for the little engine. It appeared more of a fuel issue.

alot of adds but worth it, well done. Tune it good with metal head and crankcase and use the electric motor as a generator.

Very commendible using a piece of junk compressor to do this. In one way I love it. However the oil in there is highly toxic. Sure enough its experimental and it has virtually no use,. so heres an idea,....... get some old fridges ,. strip out the compressors,. don your best protective gear to stop contamination from the oil and then chuck it all away except for the copper windings. Lots of fridges nobody wants and weigh the copper in. Much more productive financially !
