Definitely a scary line up for a team that have:
    1) 2 of the Best Shooters in Basketball History - Curry & Thompson
    2) The best offensive player in the NBA today - Durant
    3) The most dominant Big Man in the NBA today - Cousins
    4) The best role player in the NBA today - Green

What it is is very sad of your a true NBA fan you should be enraged that this is what the NBA has become. What is there to look forward to for any other team honestly. It's sad that these players are taking cuts and doing this. It's sad they are proud of themselves for what they are doing. It's A FREAKING JOKE. I can only look forward to my team hopefully winning the east and that's it.

SAS qucikly assuming all current players are soft. These guys are mostly muscular athletes, the only reason they play "soft" is because they'll get fined if they do anything. I'm pretty sure these current guys can play more dirty if the rules allowed them to.
I mean how the f are they gonna bully someone as big as LeBron unless they're going for MMA

Yea this warriors team is only comparable to russels celtics, they made 4 straight finals, best regular season record ever then they add the second best player in the world, its not fun as a fan but it is a great team. But man do I hate kevin durant, joined his enemys to beat his friends, joining the team that you chocked a 3-1 lead against doesnt give you a legacy

Tautological nature of Darwinism is one of the criticism of evolution back then. Those that survive are the fittest vis-a-vis those that are fit survive. The flaw supposedly is that the theory cannot make predictions because it doesn't lend itself to testing for fitness outside of survival success.
Max is saying that best ever starting 5 doesn't have to be tautologically hinged on team success; it can be based on individual stats like Warriors' Curry, Thompson, Green, Durant, and Cousins.
Either which way though, it'll still be the Warriors (best starting 5 in terms of individual stats from top to bottom of each member or team championships once its all been said and done).
The Celtics is the only team that Stephen A should have mentioned if really believed in his argument.

Golden State has the greatest starting 5 of all time. I like Stephen a Smith most of the time. But I disagree with him this go around. Golden State has 2 of the top 5 arguably best players in the league on the team. Steph and k.d. they have 3 mvp trophies between them. Draymond green has a defensive player of the year award. And has been runner up to non other than kawhi once and I believe Marc gasol once. Stephen curry is arguably the greatest shooter of all time.. klay Thompson is right behind Step is shooting ability. Also is a great defender. Klay is possibly the greatest 3 and D player of all time. 3pointer+defense. Klay also has the most points ever scored in a single quarter. 37pts. And boogie is top 5 center in the league. He can shoot the 3. Rebound. He averaged 5 assist per game one season with the pelicans. So he is a willing passer. Also boogie and draymond are enforcers. Who could play in any generation. Talk show people always make a stink about how tough and physical the NBA was back in the day. Well to that, I say this. If LeBron was allowed to hold people on defense like they were back then. How could you score on a man of that size strength speed. I mean come on. How could you score on the Greek freak of he could hold you. How could you score on boogie if he could hold you. Anyway sorry I'm getting away from my point. My initial point that I was trying to make is that gsw has the greatest starting 5 of all time. Regardless of era. For example. Jordan's bulls vs. Current Gsw. Both teams have tough guys aka enforcers. Both teams have not so tough or rough guys. There was soft guys who played in every era.

    • Jonthebomb
      Jonthebomb 5 months ago +1

One more thing. Every member of golden State starting 5 has a gold medal. Klay k.d draymond and boogie all played on the 2016 Olympic gold medal team. Steph curry turned it down. Steph has 2 gold medals in the 2010 and 2014 fiba world cups. Need I say more.

    • Jonthebomb
      Jonthebomb 5 months ago +1

Also I'm pretty sure all 5 starters for Golden State was on the Olympic team at some point or another.

Ya'll have to start rating Draymond, what he brings is spiritual for real. Warriors would not have won these many rings without him.

I think what’s missed on this segment is that Boogie is a modern day era of an old school big who can do it all, shoot, pass, dribble, dunk, he’s a physical specimen it’s no secret why he gets in foul trouble so much he has to ease of his aggressiveness in today’s NBA rules, no doubt in my mind he would dominate those boys in the old days he be ahead of his time, just like Jordan was Waayyyy ahead of his time.

Stephen and Max don't have to go far. The 2004 Men's Olympic basketball team composed of Iverson, Marbury, Wade, Carmelo, Lebron, Amare and Duncan only won bronze even with a line-up like that. They lost to Lithuania, Puerto Rico (73-92?!) and Argentina.
We can also go to the FIBA World Cup 2006 Men's basketball roster composed of Carmelo, Bosh, Dwight Howard, Lebron, Joe Johnson, Chris Paul and Dwayne Wade where they also just won bronze losing to Greece and Argentina.
So yeah, the greatest starting 5 shouldn't just be the sum of the collective talent but the team's collection of achievements irrespective of the individual talent.

There is NO TEAM, present or past, capable of beating this team with TODAY'S RULES when they are all healthy. At least statistically, position vs position.
1 PG. The greatest shooter of all time.
We can call Curry soft and relatable all we want but there is nobody even close to him when it comes to shooting, only guy close to shooting 3s like him is...ON HIS TEAM. This dude single handedly changed how the game is played. The only players that have had that impact on the game IN THAT fashion are Wilt and MJ.
2 SG. The greatest 3 and D player...ever. He's efficient as hell and when he's hot he's even more deadly than Curry. He's going to guard your best guard and unless his middle name is Jeffery then good luck shooting over 40% on him.
    3. SF Regarded the most unguardable small forward behind LBJ and bird, KD is lethal from EVERYWHERE. He's basically a 7 foot guard and one of the greatest scorers of all time. What team besides 80's era Boston had anyone close to him?
    4. PF We can shit on Draymond now all we want but let's not act like he wasn't a threat from mid range and the outside a couple seasons ago. And even after his recent shooting slump he's still a lockdown defender that can get you boards and has the best court vision out of all PF in the league today. Only thing stopping us from calling Draymond "Rodman with a jumper" would be his rebounding ability.
    5. C If you like old school bully ball then Boogie is a few of a dying breed and was the best center in the league before the injury. What center back then was dominant in the post AND a lethal 3 point shooter? Old centers would be lost trying to guard this guy and ask why he was so far from the post on offense. Sure, he's no Wilt or Kareem in the paint but what 5 is even close to Cousins outside of it? Hell, the only 4s that shoot better from 3 than Cousins are Channing Frye and Dirk.

All of these guys bar Draymond can drop 40 on any given night. Their spacing is literally half the court. How many of the top 20 players in the league do they have again? Debatable but 2 league MVPs, a DOP, and when Healthy the best big man imo in the game...I could go on but it’s over.
I wanna say the other teams in the league messed up by not signing Boogie but the warriors were gonna win anyways and now he is gonna come back relatively healthy and more experienced. No risk and all the reward.

I always thought basketball was a cute little game it has very little skill to learn. But you can earn a lot. Never understood how a child’s game can garner such large salaries but real sports like snowboarding, skiing, downhill mountain biking, and kiteboarding you’re unlikely to make millions compared to the amount of guys who play basketball. With the sports I mentioned, you have to read the environment, consider all forces working for and against you, execute it your move properly, and be precise in your landing. Basketball is grab ball, grunt, run in one direction, pass ball, and throw it in a hoop. If your labron “the Moron” James, run down court not pass ball, wonder why you can’t have ball 100% of the time and dunk it or shoot it.
