Sandra Bullock is able to express the most amazing range of emotion and would be magnificent as the main character in the novel, The Dandelion, the story of a woman's journey from anguish to exhilaration. She is just amazing. She would be the most relatable person to play the story of a wife who discovers her husband's betrayal and worked to save herself and her life.

When I was younger I worked at hungry jacks, if you complained about your burger they would drop tomato on the ground and put it in your burger. I only saw that once but I have seen a few things done to rude customers. Trust me when I say do not be rude to young kids in fast food. They reeeeally do not care that much about being fired. Whenever I would go to mcdonalds I would be the sweetest to them (from fear) although I am picky about food hahahaha. In saying that there were no cameras back then and we could sneak chips whilst working.

Kids could learn from this intelligent smart, down to earth woman. This is how I wish all 'stars' played the field. I hate how celebs pretend to be what they aren't these days. Wer hier ist eigentlich deutsch? Kids, learn a new language. It will open doors!

I was a waitress and a bartender for years. When I got my own restaurant I had to make decisions...the first, I would not serve alcohol because as people put booze in their mouth their brains tend to drain out their ears....and the second was, no ones money was worth my silence....if you are rude to my wait staff I am going to take their side every time...My door swings both ways. You don't like it here or you think waitress means servant, you need to leave...I had very few problems, and very few staff changes.

Haven't waited tables but worked as a tour guide in a local castle and I can tell you it's the same everywhere. People would complain to me about how high the admission fees were, that there were no chairs to sit down on during the tour, that there wasn't a lift, only stairs, and about how they only got to see 9 show rooms out of 200 rooms in the castle.
First, you expect a lift in a 700 year old castle, and you complain about not being allowed to sit on a 400 year old chair?? Excuse me?? Stay home if you can't walk or stand for 50mins.
Second, I didn't decide on any of these things. Not on the prices, not on whether you can sit down or not, and not on what you actually get to see of the place.
But of course you always gotta be nice, pretend to be understanding and shut up about what you really think.
Similar situation when I worked as a pizza delivery driver.
I agree wholeheartedly. Everyone should hold some form of customer service-related job at some point in their life. Teaches you good to be respectful to your fellow human beings.

I’m in medical school and have had at least one job at a time (in retail/waitressing) since I was 15. I currently have 2 jobs along side my studies. You can really tell who has and hasn’t worked by their attitude towards patients and their work ethic. And the shitty thing is they will be the ones that most likely to the best with the least effort because they have nothing else to worry about other then studying :/

Someone here demanded we should show waiters respect. The trouble is that most waiters/waitresses without professional training are really incompetent and irritating. If they knew how to react properly to complaints and suggestions, customers would have more respect for them.

    • Speaking Truth
      Speaking Truth 3 months ago

Because most are 16, run off their feet and don’t get more training then ‘that’s a table, that’s the kitchen, that’s the bar area- good luck’. Also idk what people expect when they moan to you about stuff, you can say sorry and that’s literally it. Everything else is down to the manager not the rest of the staff (who is most cases would be fired if they tried to solve the problem)

Working in retail, I can totally agree. It was the worst time of my life and it was the best decision to leave but I learned how to be a decent human. I dont treat people like shit like how people treated me and I dont make a mess of the place I am in cuz someone has to fix that!! I think everyone should work in retail just to see how shitty people can be and how to not be a shitty person.

As a waitress/college student, it's a mostly thankless job that demands a variety of skills that are often taken for granted. But when the customers are nice, the rest of the staff is being amicable, and I'm not being treated like a robot instead of a person, it's not a bad gig at all :)

i always say the world would be a better place if everyone had to do a year of retail or restaurant work. some people just do not know how to be a polite human being. The best customers to get in any customer service job are the ones that have been where you are and know how to treat an employee properly because they also no what its like to deal with a shit customer.

Sloth Nugget I’m in the same position - restaurants and retail since 16. Now I have 2 jobs whilst I’m in med school (and I’m 20 too!). Sadly I’m competing against loads of rich kids who don’t have to work now so get to spend loads of time dedicated to their studies
