    Easy Thanksgiving turkey and Turkey Gravy recipe
    Tender Juicy Turkey recipe
    Defrost turkey... sit frozen turkey on kitchen counter for 3 days to completely defrost
    Remove turkey gizzards, heart, liver and neck from cavity
    Remove slime and cut excess fat
    Rinse turkey with salt and water
    Turkey Rub
    2 TBS of Seasoning salt, 1 TBS garlic powder, 1 TBS onion powder, 1 TBS of sage, 1 tsp of thyme, 1 tsp of rosemary, 1 tsp of pepper
    Drizzle melted butter on both sides of turkey, rub well
    Sprinkle a generous amount of seasoning onto turkey
    Place in refrigerator and marinate for 3 days
    After 3 days..... chop up 1 onion and 2 green peppers, and place in cavity of turkey.
    PRE HEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES
    Chop up 1 green pepper and onion into very small pieces
    Place 1 tbs of flour in an oven bag. Add chopped green peppers and onions.
    Place turkey in bag
    Tie a knot at the end of bag and cut 6 1/2 inch splits on top of bag
    Place in baking pan and bake until thermometer reads 160 degrees in thickest part of turkey
    Gravy
    Place turkey neck, liver, heart, and gizzards, in a small pot. Add 1 tb of butter.
    Add 3 cups of water and 2 cups of chicken broth/slurry (6 tbs of flour)
    Simmer over medium heat until gravy thickens
    Poor over turkey once done

    If like to try this but don't like the peppers. Will use other veggies instead. Thanks for the great ideas. Our oven kicked the bucket the first week of December. Thank God we were having dinner at relatives this year. Anyway we do have a turkey in the freezer that needs to come out cause of no room. The earliest date is Jan. 16 for getting the new oven. I usually make alot of cookies too. I still have most of the ingredients for that too. Maybe for Easter. Anyway, my mother got a hold of a roaster from my aunt so we are gonna try that.

    I made this recipe for my Family in México, we were not that keen on turkey due to a recipe that dried it, but this, Holly crap, it ended up being delicious and right now, we're full on NYE dinner, we only have legs and wings left, and the Gravy container is still full.

    I’m so glad I found your video again!     Made this recipe today and it turned out GREAT! Got a lot of compliments! The only thing I didn't have was the oven bag. And so, I baked it at 450 for 30 minutes, and based it then turned the oven down to 350 for 3 hours. I based it twice in the last hour. Was still moist and delicious. The gravy was also a hit! Thanks for sharing!

    If you want to make a better tasting turkey do not use a oven bag. Yes it cooks faster but if you want the meat to fall off the bird with even darker golden brown color cover the top with tin foil and the last hour take it off.

    You got one more new subscriber. Let me first tell you every Thanksgiving I want to make a turkey, but nobody in the family eats turkey only me. There’s no less than 13 people at our home for Thanksgiving every year. So I decided I didn’t care and I was making my 20 pound turkey this year (given to my husband from work). Man I did ALMOST every single thing you did down to the turkey prep and the seasonings. The only thing I didn’t do was leave the turkey in the fridge uncovered for 3 days I only left it for 1 day because Thanksgiving was the following day so... Now here is my testimony the turkey was so freaking good that I made believers out of more than half the family members on Thanksgiving day. They were so shocked that the turkey had seasoning infused in the actual meat not only the skin. Boy that adding of SAGE was everything. I’m not joking with you the turkey tasted like the way you would want to describe the flavor of Thanksgiving. My turkey only took about 3 hours and 20 minutes in the oven bag at 350 degrees. The turkey was very moist even the breast. My turkey looked exactly the way yours look. Thank you so much.

    When you marinated your turkey you actually have used a dry brine in which the turkey is sat in fridge with salt and seasonings for at least 24 hours I've never used a dry brine but I seen videos on them and the skin looks yours did on the videos I've seen but I use a wet brine and I love it . But I'm sure your turkey was delicious and hope you had a great Thanksgiving !
