I also know Simon's and Seth's talks and also Gary's and I also admire them for the way they do it, of course it needs a lot of practice as Seth's mentioned but believe me, you Chris have everything it needs to blow a away an audience cause one can feel your passion for giving value, for teaching and sharing insights. I only saw your talk which is to be found on vimeo but I saw every video here on youtube and I can tell you, you are the next to rock every stage and every event around the globe:)))

If this is the same Seth Godin who was just rambling about the evils of trigonometry in the comments to a BoingBoing post-and I'm pretty sure it is-yeah, um, the guy's a complete nutcase who apparently thinks basic algebraic identities are the tool of our government oppressors, taught purely to "enforce compliance." See for yourself. It's on a post by Mark Frauenfelder titled "This trig problem kept me up too late last night." It's truly bizarre.
Marketing and B-school do terrible things to people's brains. Don't buy the magic beans this guy is selling. :(

Great conversation guys! Thank you for sharing! And, THAT sounds like the same Seagull picture that I've had on my facebook profile photo for about 8 years! It's awesome! It's a "No Seagull" sign with a big red line through an image of a gull and a gull is perched right on top as if to say "F U. I will do as I please! " The moment I saw it when I was looking at Seagull photos for a project about seagulls (a logo) I fell in love with it. I feel like it's my alter-ego. I'm an INTJ, irreverent and just don't care about stupid rules.

Why is Seth so tight-lipped about his family? I find that really odd.

    • Manoj Philip
      Manoj Philip 3 months ago

The Futur Yeah, I definitely respect his stance too.
But I just think it's odd that someone who is so vocal about everything else is so private about his family.
Sometimes his views and opinions can be so theoretical. So it would be great to hear some practical applications to his theories. And what's better than hearing about how his own family has benefited from his teachings?
      Anyway, just my two cents.

Chris has the most beautiful cheekbones in the planet. also, awesome content. also, yes coming from the Philippines we have been hardwired to become corporate slaves. i find it conflicting though because on the good side, a lot of developed countries actually invest in the PH and therefore brings in a lot of job opportunities. countries like america and australia benefit from these outsourced workforce. on the other side, it feels like it will take such a long time for PH people to actually be the management or consultant to fly around the world and be at the helm of top companies or agencies...i hope that made sense.

There are MANY inspiring people out there... they do inspiring talks, but talking the talk is relatively easy... walking the talk is harder... few actually inspire people to walk the talk... so little changes. Seth Godin is the exception to this rule... he is dangerously inspiring... governments need to worry about that... ... he walks the talk... and inspires others to walk. Period. Look what he inspired us to do in England. And what we're DOING. www.steamco.org.uk/artconnects

on't mean to go deep into the rabbit hole but makes me wonder if a lot these personalities are playing a character that they sell to the world... so that perhaps they become more relatable to the audience and therefore gain more popularity... When Mr. Godin said "do you think garyvee is like that all the time?" I thought yes! Yes, he is. He interrupts a lot and is questioning with high energy. But then he said gary is gary playing the ROLE of gary...
