@11:45 World's first screw driver race? I don't think so Tim. They had one on Home Improvement. Tim used a gas powered screwdriver.

He is exited about 10gigabit connection. I am sitting here at 1megabit/second lol. I would love just a 2megabit/second
100 fucking dollars for a 1G internet connection.... man, I hate america sometimes
I'd be satisfied with 10 meg service. Janky ass isp here can't even get 1 meg at my house. Not that far out of town either.
it would just be fun to expand it!!
>my new toy. I got scared
SuperMicro 502-2 1U Rack Server WORKINGItem ID: 254070151558 ebay
i came from the lyle video
This needs to be added to the networking unboxing and reviews playlist. I'm thinking of deploying PFSense and wanted to rewatch this to refresh on the cpu features to keep latency down; I couldn't find it. I went back over a year trying to spot it from the thumbnail, searched for "networking" "pfsense" "10Gbit" "Router" "Switch" and probably some other stuff. I only found it when I went to google and searched for "linus tech tips router unboxing".
This guy made my life as a network engineer more interesting for me. Literally in this video
hate to bug about networking again but your wanting speed and encryption I know you think im crazy but wireless may be your solution to your home. Microtek and Motorola was big in the game
I think he meant all aboot.
Epeen mixed Ipeen. Now thats a nice cocktail!
Best Video ever 😂
Tell me you didnt!!!!! Tell me you didnt point at a network port on a ROUTER and say that this is for VLANS...say it isnt so.....
not what i was waiting for.
Linus I own an wisp, and would like it if you did some more Ubiquiti videos demonstrating how to set up a point to point or just to do outdoor wifi, I’m sure lots of people would find that very interesting.
SFP cards and fiber jumpers are cheap. Especially if you buy in bulk from a cell network deployment contractor, who has an excess of material. If you have fiber needs in the future, you should look into Fiber Instrument Sales Inc.
I have an RHCE. I don't know windows well. :) Anyway, it's just a cert.
Hi Linus, good upgrade, but I was wondering if that switch doesn't deserve something to suit it like a juniper mx104 or mx80 (if you can't afford the 104) or go with a ASR9001 (9006 or 9010 will be a true overkill ) all of the listed ones have enough raw power to keep both connections (internet and exchange connection ) both well fed this router is a freaking joke :) all the mentioned above are all ISP graded and most of them use them :) That is on the router end.... and yeah... you could just bought a Nexus 5k with a couple of fex extensions and job done....
You have to liquid cool that NOW!
Linus’ Nerdgasm over the internet upgrade is pure and good! 🤣
Now all it needs is full RGB; FOR GAMING!
If it weren't for this channel if still be an idiot thinking what kinda laptop I wanna get instead of parting out my second build and upgrading my house with decent mesh wifi and gigabit networking...
Having CompTIA A+ Certification really means jack. I got it and I literally wasted money on school when I could have just studied the exam book and taken the test. If you are a computer enthusiest it's super easy to get certified, but not really worth it. I didn't get any work due to it and my certification expired in 2016. Ended up going back to college and getting a CompSci degree and now I'm actually making money with a decent job. Just some advice to people looking to get certified, just study the book and take the test. Most of the hardware stuff you probably know already if you are pretty into PC gaming, but the network stuff is what could get you if you're not as experienced with it. Go for it though, always worth it to have more certification, despite my experience.
yea two iphone 10s for one 10gb switches with that many ports yeah you got a fucking steal for that switch thats what people dont understand
Nasa - *_laughs in 91gbps_*
Sweet... Sweet internet speeds... Try not to get pissed again at my way overpriced, 10 megabit internet connection and zero options to upgrade even though I live on a major highway with hundreds of houses surrounding me. F#@!
WHy do you have it on when you talking about it?
Who wouldn't watch past the first minutes with that noise
I just want something faster than 5Mbps/1Mbps.
Hay Linus GRATE WORK where can I get a cpu socket adaptor I think I saw you use one
if you gonna talk on camera grab a fucking mic
Famous last words: "We won't be running fiber..."
Linus could actually open up a technology research groupFrom media to making tech, could totally start into that.... Ideas you need like a 10GB cable splitter between the 2 switches so you can have instant use of the 2nd switch when the other fails without the whole moving cables... then you just need to turn it on or have it wirelessly turn on using a networked power switch.
You could throw a cavium card in that pci slot. Sky’s the limit
Guys! it's the click bait we've all been waiting for! Click click click click!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine having a lan party with this switch... CS1.6 24v24 :D
lmg gets 5.5gbit internet connection while i'm still on a 12k connection...germany is just the country with the baddest internet connection
This was my reactionMe:yes! An rtx unboxing Linus:*points at an non rtx box*Me:really nigga linus
I could see virtualizing it to reuse the same hardware to run dedicated IPS/IDS processing systems.
Liquid metal!(Kidding, please don't.)
I'm still waiting for you to die HEDGEHOG
Are you gonna be tier 3 :D
Nice man your like a rich version of me i buy stuff of facebook market craigs list just to build frankenstien PCS
Linus, still n00bish at networking ?cmon man, go get yourself some UBNT or Mikrotik router and dont play with "server based/home cooked" routers plz.as much as it can work good, it's not INTENDED to do so.In these modern times, mentioned routers have dedicated packet processing, all are multi-core, have SFP+ ports, several GB of ram and vice versa.example : mikrotik.com/product/CCR1036-8G-2Splus
Um, Linus, The case on those switches shapes the airflow significantly increasing its effectiveness... so even with the monster fans.. case open = BAD. It can overheat if left open.
i must tell yopu always brings great quality stuff. super interesting
Watching this as the Supermicro scandal unfolds... sheesh.
like kaufman reading the great gatsby. genius!
Did he say, Micro(µ) not mili!! :DDDD sheeeeet
Two guys, one switch.
