12 Most Incredible Abandoned Places

As a species, the human race are accomplished builders. We build homes, roads, and cities, sprawling out across the land and reaching up towards the sky to support our growing population and industries. Not all of our great works of construction are destined to last forever, though. Through abandonment, becoming obsolete, or suffering misfortune, our creations sometimes fall into disuse, becoming strange, forgotten monuments to the past.

It would be a massive project, but to reclaim and use all of the steel/concrete/brick from the rail yard and such would be great and help to clean the area up while creating a few hundred jobs for a short time.

The American's never dropped a "nuclear bomb" on Hiroshima, as indicated in this video. Rather, an atomic bomb, (AKA a hydrogen bomb) was dropped there; a uranium gun-type bomb that exploded with about thirteen kilotons of force. The major difference is that atomic bombs use nuclear fission, which splits a larger atom into two smaller ones, to create the desired energy. Hydrogen bombs use fusion, which is done by fusing two or more atoms into a bigger one. Either way, it sure made them wish they had never attacked Pearl Harbor!

I don't understand why a factory would do that. I mean, logically, if you were on the brink of total failure, you stop buying components, build the cars that you're in the middle of building and sell off whatever you have lying around to pay your bankruptcy attorneys. And maybe have a little leftover to start again or retire or to live on in the meantime or whatever.

"Freak Globalized Weather"... Translation. I am a Kool-Aid drinker who believes that everything the weather does is because of man made climate change. Lots of rain can cause dams to break. It is actually common, especially in the Third World and developing nations.

Stop putting you politics in your videos. No one cares.

    • Constitutionalist Libertarian
Constitutionalist Libertarian 25 days ago +2

@Mike K Those who push cults and cult like things want just that. When someone is like that they will shut out anything that contradicts what they believe. The Left with all of their things today, such as identity politics, systematic oppression, etc, is a perfect example of this. If you confront them with facts contrary to what they believe they shutdown and double down harder.

Częstochowa. Hard name to pronounce. Polish is a tough one! You could do a lot worse than: Chen-sto-hova... ch is pronounced more like an English "h" (or even better a Scottish "ch" as in Loch Ness) "w" is pronounced like an English "v". Fun video though! :)

The missiles in the silos around the pyramid are not thermonuclear. They were ABMs that shoot down thermonuclear missiles.

    • Brad Bowman
      Brad Bowman 10 days ago

@Nicholas Vaters a dirty bomb does no good as an ABM warhead. These missiles detonated in the air to stop incoming re-entry vehicles. A thermonuclear is a hydrogen bomb - a city killer. Again, not appropriate for an ABM.

    • Nicholas Vaters
      Nicholas Vaters 11 days ago

    • tom cline

Could have been nuclear tipped. The Nike surface to air missile system were nuclear. Could blow up a whole bomber formation. I can see using a low yield nuke to totally disrupt an incoming icbm
