BEST Peking Duck in New York! $140 Peking Duck With Caviar?!

  • I LOVE Peking Duck, it's one of my all time favorite foods. The crispy melt in your mouth skin, the amazing juiciness of the meat wrapped up in that chewy thin crepe with fresh veggies and sauce creates a delicious meaty crunchy combo that is unmatched.
    There has been a lot of new restaurants in New York City that has begun serving Peking Duck, so I decided to try them out. For this video I went to Elaine's Asian Bistro in Long Island, DaDong, which is a Michelin Starred restaurant from China, Decoy and some roast duck from Wah Fung my favorite Chinese BBQ place in New York.
    For some reason, the Decoy video footage was lost, I really have no idea how that happened but it was just gone. Personally, I did not enjoy eating there. First of all, if you want to have the duck it takes some effort. You either have to book a reservation which will subject you and everyone you're dining with to a mandatory $75 per person set meal and this could mean up to 5-6 people sharing one duck and for $75 per person that is outrageous. If you want to just eat their duck on its own, then you have to show up right as they open at 5 and ask if they have an extra one laying around. Seriously. If they don't then no duck for you. For the sake of getting this right, I went twice and the first time the duck was not bad, skin was mostly crispy and tasty, the duck meat was juicy and the sauces they give you are great. But the second time the skin was chewy and tough, not very consistent. So for all the hassle and price, I don't recommend this place.
    Da Dong, as I mentioned, the skin will be the best you'll ever have on a Peking duck. EXTREMELY amazing, but the duck meat is dry and tasteless.
    Elaine's is my go to Peking Duck place but located a bit outside of the city.

      My family gets one every Christmas Eve at Peking Inn in Camarillo in CA. With the rest of the duck we ask for soup, so clean and refreshing with tofu and cabbage.

    I have a whole duck in the oven at the moment! It's coated in 5spice powder (that I made myself) lots of salt and pepper too. Can't wait to see how it comes out! Steamed jasmine rice and stir fry veggies to go with 💓😍💁‍♀️

    Mikey! I got to try Elaine's Peking Duck and it was so good I ordered two! Absolutely delicious and thanks for introducing the spot. There's a place called O2 BBQ that offers all you can eat korean bbq that I found to be pretty good, would love to see what you think about it.

    I love Peking Duck, but I have to say that duck meat presentation was very poor and messy.
    Also that "crepe" aka pancake looks strange, its suppose to be very thin and not have bits of burned areas. Must be a US thing?

    yea.... best for me is always the lower cost food.... the mom and pop places!!
    yes even some times the hole in the wall place...
    I have to have fresh taste, but well and properly seasoned!!
    bland is never a good thing in my book!!
    but then again super blow your head off spicy is not good...
    so lets see a food tour of the best of the usa from you!!
    you could do east coast, mid west, south, and west coast.
    and you could do a up scale places as well as best value places!!

    I love Peking duck . In typical restaurants , after they de-skin it , the extra meat are used for stir fry dish with spring onions and the bones are for soup . One duck 3 dish . Worth it for the family

    hmmm that is not the traditional way of rolling the crepe. And if the piece only contains skin, it is way better to eat it with sugar instead of including it inside a roll. But this is an awesome video as always :).

    Honestly, the duck does not look so appetizing to me... the skin looks soft and way too oily( when its supposed to be crispy) and the pancake does not seem like theyre fresh... go to beijing if you get the chance and try actual authentic peking duck places
