Kudos for making this “your bike.” Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the series. Btw, noticed the HK Army sticker on the long board wall art. Maybe you covered this before, but do/did you paintball?

The lower 27 Torx are lock tight so you will need to head them up before unscrewing them. If not they will spin freely

Well, if I can't see all your videos here on RU-clip I'm outta here. FUCK PATREON! I can't afford shit like that while I'm restoring a bike which takes all my extra money. And I thought you were a cool motovlogger. Guess I was wrong about that. Bye.

Calm down bruh. All his videos are free right here on RU-clip. Are you so fucking out of the loop and old that you don't know how this shit works? Fucking cry a little more, your tears fuel me.

I didn't realize that the bike has shock struts like a dyna. I thought Harley got rid of that style on everything for soft tail style mono shock. Interesting.

How is the tour pack not on a quick release system, it’s 2018 Harley come on

    • Uncle Ken
      Uncle Ken 6 months ago

@kenneth bailey It's about a $600 difference between the RG Special and the RG Ultra. The special doesn't come with the tour pak, is already blacked out, and isn't twin cooled. The Ultra is twin cooled, has the tour pak, but isn't blacked out. Bird chose this Ultra based on it being a RG and having a fucking amazing price tag. As far as the modifications, that's why we watch his channel.

    • kenneth bailey
      kenneth bailey 6 months ago

Would it have been cheaper to buy a new road glide special? They are already blacked out and you could have just got a tour pack for it.

I'm not an expert, so I'm asking - is powder-coating the parts less expensive than replacing them with black OEM parts?

  • Zac Soares
Zac Soares 6 months ago +1

I wanted to let you know, Advan Black is not all its cracked up to be. After receiving my "vivid black extended bags for my 2017 Road king, I noticed the finish was covered in scratches. I spent hours polishing them out, only to again be let down by the color match (or lack there of). The finish looked "brown" in comparison to the rest of the bike. They did send me a replacement set but the color was no better. At that point they gave me a partial refund.

@Uncle Ken I guess I'm just unlucky. I painter says the quality of the clear is the issue

Kudos for tearing into that bike to make it your own. Do you plan to upgrade to a Legend front/rear suspension? Regarding the Tour-Pak ... I put a color-matched tour-oak on my CVO SG. Folks told me I would never remove it ... and mine is off the bike at this moment ... for the times I don't need the cargo capacity, I love riding without it.

    • Bike N' Bird
Bike N' Bird  6 months ago

Yes! Legends recently brought me on as a rider so I'll be getting full legends suspension for both bikes

Because 1. It's a large upfront cost that I don't want to absorb 2. GTZ is a very talented veteran owned local powder coater that I like to support

Stop it. You're killing me, ow ow ow. My brain is having extreme difficulty processing the removal of all that chrome. I know the black details will look great but that's some nice chrome work you going to sand or blast off. On your end of the state it should be prime riding weather right now.
