Jalen Hurts should have transferred from Alabama before 2018 - Emmanuel Acho | College Football Live

  • Published on Jan 9, 2019
  • Trevor Matich and Emmanuel Acho react to Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Hurts' decision to enter the transfer pool. Matich explains why it is the right move for Hurts to transfer, saying he “cemented” himself as one of the most “beloved” Alabama quarterbacks and fans cannot be upset for wanting to leave. Acho says Hurts’ decision to transfer came “365 days too late” and says he needs to start looking out for himself. In terms of possible schools to transfer too, Acho says Hurts would fit well in Lincoln Riley’s system with the Oklahoma Sooners and Matich explains that Chip Kelly can do a lot of things with Jalen’s skillset with the UCLA Bruins.

Saban just wants to keep great QB's on the bench so you cant have them. Tell Saban, about 25 schools will want all his QB's that he has on his bench. QB's arent waiting 3 years to start 1 year. NFL scouts go by that 26/27-60 rule. Need 26 starts with 60% completion rate. Thats 2 years of starting + bowl games. Saban thinks college qbs should just shut uo and ride the bench.

    40 TOUCHDOWNS PASSING
    21 TOUCHDOWNS RUSHING
    SEC PLAYER OF THE YEAR

HE DID ALL THIS WITH 3 DIFFERENT QB COACHES. NOW MEDIA AND DUMB ASS BAMA FANS SAY HE CANT THROW! WTF!!!
THIS IS HOW THEY CHANGE THE NARATIVE TO PRAISE SABAN DISLOYAL FAKE ASS. I AGREE JALEN SHOULD HAVE BEEN TRANSFERED. ABSOLUTELY NO LOYALTY FROM FAKE SABIN AND DUMB WANNABE PLAYERS WHO SAT BACK AND SAID NOTHING!

Jalen was and still better than Tua, coach Saban lost his coaching credibility when he chose Tua over Jalen and especially when he didn't start Jalen in the second half against clemson which was basically the same situation of why he pulled him against georgia last year, so why didn't he? Saban will regret how he disrespected his 26-2 starter! He will not win another natty with Tua nor will he ever have a heisman qb winner under his belt as well. I love Bama but Saban will have dark days ahead to finish his career off at bama because God don't like ugliness as the old folk would say!

Keep talking that talk and keep that doubt but when you see what 2019 gonna hold for Bama, which will be a successful season and them winning a NC with Tua as the starter and him possibly winning the Heisman, you're gonna be like 🤐 and tbh if Tua doesn't do anything else, he helped big time win that NC title last year that your fav Jalen wasn't gonna help win. Y'all are some ungrateful fans.

Let Jalen speak for himself and don’t put your own thoughts, which are totally different than what he has said regarding his love for Saban, players and fans who have lent their support his way. God bless! Roll Tide Roll!

I don't believe in living or focusing on the past. Yes our team had a amazing year. Yes Nick messed up with this game by not allowing Jalen to play until the end. However we are still Alabama and we still rise above this. Many hate us some love us but we are strong. We are legends. We simply just get better. All the players have amazing futures. Jermiah 29:11 we will be better in the fall. Wherever Jalen goes God has great things for that young man and I'll always be a fan.

His objective was to graduate and get his degree, that is exactly what he did. I don't understand why ppl can't see the bigger picture. People said he is not an nfl qb, he is not a better passer than Tua, so forth and so on. Well he stayed worked on his passing game, and I must say he has improved a whole lot. Now he can move on to another program that allows him to showcase his talent, and if he enters the draft and does not get drafted, then he has a degree to fall back on, and do whatever he loves besides football. Sounds like a great plan to me.

Tua had the most points in Alabama history, most TDS. Every offensive record broke.
Lose Natty and all their fans start pointing fingers and calling out Saban. Oh, you mean the guy who brought you 5 rings? He doesn’t know anything?
Funny, I thought there was a statue of him.
Clemson was the better team. Period. Didn’t matter who played QB.
(Edit: No mention that the D gave up 44 and could’ve given up 50 plus if Clemson wanted to. Does Saban not know defense either? Bama never had a good defense? Lol. Love seeing fans point at a coach.)

I dont disagree with his decision to stay at Alabama this year, but I do think he should have saved his year of eligibility so that he would have had 2 years of eligibility instead of one. My thoughts are the same eligibility wise with justin fields. the NCAA is giving players a better chance of retaining their red shirt status with the 4 game limit, I'm surprised that more people arent trying to take advantage of it.

  • Pink and Gold glitter kitty

At the end of the day Jalen is an intelligent young man and I believe he has his own plan and I believe he has followed that plan to a tee. I think Jalen has suggested on more than one occasion that people don't know what he wants to do but he does and that's what matters. So I respect his decision, I respect the path he has taken, because it's the path he wanted and there has been positive outcomes to this point fo him.

Trevor is right, Emmanuel is wrong. By just the mere fact that Jalen stayed to get his degree from Alabama, that nixes all that "lip service" Emmanuel is giving. Jalen should have been put in sooner, Tua I thought was gonna be a decent qb but got worse with each game this year with his mental thoughts and reads against good defense's, he should have been able to light Clemson up like the gamecocks did but didn't because they baited his throws and you seen what happened.. not impressed with his brother coming in there either, seen a few of his games and his jump throws for no reason ??? This is not hs anymore they might have been great there but college is a different level. I think bear's grandson will be a better qb for our program, taller and can throw the ball without forcing and more of a bama style qb and I've seen many a good ones for bama since 1965. Remember not all 5 stars are all that look at Josh Jacobs a 3 star which I thought was a great player with drive within himself for the team

    • B. Myleek
      B. Myleek 5 months ago

@Toni House so wait...Jalen gets to throw for 100 yards against Auburn and 120 yards against Clemson, only 21 yards against Georgia, but when he gets pulled he got betrayed? Tua threw for 290+ and 2 TD/2 INT. The offense produced 500+ yards but he needs to be pulled when Jalen didn't? The issue was we had 4 red zone drives with only 3 points out of them. Jalen wouldnt have fixed that. I'm tired of know it alls who don't really know shit

Acho saying he needs to look out for himself doesn't really surprise me at all. Seems to be a prevailing thought pattern among today's youth. But I am proud of Jalen and the way he has handled the situation, and what he made out of it as well. And I have no dog in this fight as I'm a Georgia fan. However this line of thinking, Acho's thinking, is what's wrong with college football now. Kids leaving early, kids transferring because they don't start, sitting out bowl games, etc... No loyalty to their school, teammates, or coaches. All a part of the me first, entitled generation, and it's making less of what used to be, in my opinion, the greatest sport in America.
