the lane splitter sucks ive had mine for less than a year and the visor rattles like crazy when i ride at speed. I recommend a shoei or aria helmet.

DOT is pretty much worthless, ECE even more worthless... Snell is the only one worthy of serious riders.

Are you serious? ECE more worthless than DOT? ECE is on par with Snell. DOT is shit.

That's exactly the kind of comparison I was looking for! I personally love my Gringo but dropped it last year and need a replacement for this coming season. Thanks for this quick and to the point review guys!

Both the Lane Splitter and the Street Bandit have two shell sizes - one covers XS-MD and the other covers LG-2XL.

Which one does a better job of keeping the rain out if you get caught in downpour?

The Simpson is Snell approved and doesn't let wet weather in with side venting. The lane splitter has no option to close airflow in cold weather. Biltwell in my experience has made some awful products across their line (Gringo and custom products) and I wouldn't trust them to make much improvement. Spend the extra $50 for a better made product.

Nice comparison. I just got the Lane Splitter, and was curious.. Is the visor really stiff for you guys? It's pretty hard for me to raise an lower it one handed. It seems like it's too tight, but if I loosen it squeaks and doesn't improve much.

Is this helmet loud since you can’t close those front vents?

It is a little stiff, but not to the point where it seemed like an issue. It's sort of nice since you don't have to worry about it moving on you if you have it partially opened, but I imagine over a little time it would loosen up. If you do loosen the hardware so it's not as stiff, just make sure there's enough thread-locker on it so it doesn't come apart while riding.
