I Tried A 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine For A Month

  • Published on Sep 20, 2017
  • I have always been curious about the 10-step korean skincare routine, so I tried it for an entire month to see how it was & if there were any noticeable benefits! I tried a oil cleanser, water-based cleanser, scrub, toner, essence, moisturizer, eye cream, night serum, and SPF every day and night for 31 days to see if they live up to the hype!
To clarify, I stopped using the sheet masks after the first week and I used the scrub 3-4 times a week! So I guess it was more like ~450 applications a month. I got my kit here: sokoglam.com/products/10-step-skincare-routine-set-combo

HELLO FRIENDS!!! i just wanted to clarify, i know ur not supposed to put on a scrub every single day, i used the scrub like 3-4 times a week! i had a line in the video about it and i think we cut it for some reason. so i guess my math was wrong and it was more like ~450 applications!
thanks & sorry for the confusion!!

Meanwhile I only use 3 The Body Shop tea tree products every morning and my skin has barely to none acene and only pimples I get is period pimples as I have oily skin if I don't do my routine. I do use twice a week BT21 face mask to make my skin smooth and hydrated and that's the only Korean related skincare.

I have very oily skin with some acne scarring, I also work in a pharmacy for the past 6 years so I’ve used nearly every skincare company out there, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Clarins, Clinique and other smaller brands. They were ok, I started using Korean skincare and it changed my skin so much, acne scars reduced, oily ness is still there but my skin looks so much smoother. I think it’s revolutionary

As someone who's been doing a K beauty routine for a year I only do a few steps daily. Oil cleanser(if wearing makeup or especially sweaty), water cleanser, toner, moisturizer and spf. About once a week I'll do a BCA exfoliating serum, and if I'm feeling especially bad I'll do a serum and night cream. I've definitely noticed a difference over time. But each different skin type has different needs. :)

You always say you have oily skin and extra moisture will actually help. Your skin is oily because you are not moisturizing enough actually. It is trying to make up for the lack of hydration so it is making an excess of oil so if you have oily skin, do not stop moisturizing.

The essence is essentially a face/skin lightener. In most of eastern asia they think having lighter/whiter skin makes you more beautiful. Keep in mind Korea is mostly homogeneous, it's not like a big culture/race mixing pot like the US

All the pimples popping up seems counter intuitive but it's actually due to all of the toxins coming out of your skin. If you keep using the products your skin will clear up and look beautiful. Any good skin care line makes your skin worse before it can get better.

Girl that is too too much! I would never. I honestly never thought about what I do as a, “routine.” But I guess it is. Here’s what I do.
Wash my face normally with hot water and bath and body works soap and a cloth. I put hemp oil + rose oil drops on my face twice a day from tjmaxx. I spray on rose water sometimes.
I use an oil diffuser every single day and night. I switch up the oils but my favorite is tea tree oil, cardamom oil, And lemon oil.
I take multivitamins everyday with tons of biotin.
I drink lots of ice water and tea.
I wear barely any makeup. Just foundation, I draw on my eyebrows, and sometimes lipstick.
I wear sunglasses everyday of the year.
Spray on sunscreen whenever I’m outside for more than an hour or more.
Coconut oil on my whole body but not my face. For some reason my face doesn’t like coconut oil.
    Das it!
Oh I’m also vegetarian. So maybe that has something. I do wit it too. Tons of fruits and vegetables. High carb life.

It would be cool to check moisturise level in dermatologist with special "machine" before and after these types of experiments. In german TV there is Marktcheck Program and once they were testing creams from different brands and in the and girls using check crem were getting better test note than these using well known expensive brands. Just to avoid placebo and self evaluation. Great video btw :)

when you start a new face washing system that probably will work differently and maybe better it is a given to break out bc of the face wash and products are cleaning out your dirty pores and hence breaking out. But give it a few months to do its work then clear skin.
