- A special mashup of #GregVlog & Trailer for Greg's "Everest Lab" live show.
About the show:
Everest Lab is an interactive, demo-packed live science show that explores the science of high-altitude survival, and tells the story of a team of doctors and children on a scientific adventure to uncover cutting-edge medical treatments and save lives back home.
Written by Greg Foot and Nick Insley (Medical/Physiological Presenter and keen mountaineer), this show introduces ‘Xtreme Everest 2’ - a group of intensive care doctors, nurses, and scientists who have set up the highest lab in the world; 5,364m above sea level, at Everest Base Camp.
It’s an inhospitable place to live, let alone do cutting-edge medical research. But they won’t be alone. They’re going to be joined by adults, sherpas and children - volunteers willing to push their bodies to the limits for science.
By studying how healthy bodies cope with the hypoxic conditions at altitude, the Xtreme Everest 2 team hopes to develop new treatments for their critically ill patients back home.
The show not only unpicks the cutting-edge research being done by Xtreme Everest 2 but also explores the science of high altitude survival, uncovers the effect of altitude on your physiology, explores the genetics of fitness. It’s interactive, energetic and packed full of demos.
The show plays in schools and at festivals in the UK and abroad. If you'd like the show to visit you head to the Contact area of Greg's website www.gregfoot.com
