It's pretty sick that the so-called Christian attitude to homosexuality is selected reading of the Bible, yet there are plenty of other passages that are blithely ignored, just because it would be "inconvenient" for people to live that way. Case in point : Christ said nothing about homosexuality, but he said plenty about the pursuit of worldly goods. Sometimes I think the concentration on homosexuality is to divert from the inconvenient truth of the more difficult message. Pointing the finger away from oneself is a cowardly tactic.

That confrontation with the dad is what I experienced. Luckily my dad learned to accept me and loved me unconditionally. I am one of the lucky ones in that sense.

I saw the move 3 times. I was alone there. What they show in the movie is heartbreaking. Some camps treat kids worse. I still cried every time, and that was before Troye Sivan sang Revelations. I hope The academy awards give this movie some of the top awards and Troye Sivan and Jonsi win for Revelations.

I am glad this movie was made. Now, people need to see what they are doing to their families. Everything you learn emotionally is learned in the home. So, who teaches you to hate yourself for how you feel about another person? If you have a home that is built on love and family that loves no matter what. You will not grow up with these issues. There is not one person that can say their parents loved them if they sent them to an institution for conversion. Claiming stupid and listening to someone else is not the answer! If this were my child, I can tell for a fact. I would allow him to be who he/she is and love them for it. There is a movie done in 1992, Doing Time on Maple Drive. Look at the dynamics of that family. It is typical family life and if you don’t talk about it. It cannot be true. They only see the bad things as those are the incidents exploited on the news. They never see the good things that happen because that is not a story most people can handle. There are same-sex couples that have raised children and have extensive families. Because they went on about their business and did not listen to people telling them it could not work. I know people that have been together over 40 years and their families have flourished. Because they were built on love and they worked through things together and faced everything that life threw at them.

I hope that people will learn from this film and make changes in their lives for the better. And, for the betterment of their children.

If people are using God as a weapon the it is a fear cult which tbh many religions fall into this, religion is a old cult and a cult is a new religion. People need to start loving instead of spreading pain onto others.

  • ዝርውን በዜማ/ Prose-In-Rhythm

People can be 'whatever' they want; however, when they mention about Christianity, The Bible is the Only Source and Proof - 'Cause it's God's word. Judging 'this Situation' is hardly ambiguous, so long people stay 'adrenalizing' themselves.

Shawn Kelly agreed it’s so sad that stupid people try to change them even though they now it doesn’t work it either ends with them escape from this or taking there own life I’m gay and I believe in god but I’m so upset that some people say god doesn’t love you just because for who you are I hope this film opens People’s eyes more to shut down places like that

God believes in people living as blessed, happy life and doesn't focus only on just one sin. Its basic knowledge of a sometimes blind sinner who would instruct a young man on "Just not being Gay". God gave instruction to be holy and not be given into world desires. Also, any sin to God is similar to idolatry. So, when I think about it, The Pharisees and Scribes even today do exist. God has already predestined "Our" adoption as his sons and daughters. There's power in God and his forgiveness. Amen.

I saw the movie. It was harrowing. But a Church that protects pedophile priests isn’t going to spur change in accepting homosexuality, that’s for sure. Maybe this movie will help.

There is nothing wrong with religion! Lots of religious people of all religions are not homophobic at all. In christianity it’s only considered a sin by close-minded homophobes who didn’t read the bible correctly. Yes, it says homosexuality is a sin but that is because that’s what society believed when it was written thousands of years ago. People wrote it down in the bible because back then it was considered a sin. Just like all the other things the bible calls a sin, like cutting your hair, most christians would ignorere it and follow the most important rule of the bible. To love your neighbor and accept people for who they are. While there are lots of christians who are homophobes and blame it on their religion there are lots of atheist that are homophobes and lots of christians who isn’t. I understand being angry at religion because of the discrimination and homophobia you have experienced but you have to realize the problem isn’t the religion, but the people. I just wanted to prove my point of not thinking it’s right to hate religion because of something that shouldn’t have anything to do with it.
