@Pec Mane Hey Pec, sorry I’m just getting back to this reply. Have had a couple rough days. I read everything you wrote and I’m impressed with you. You have a good head on your shoulders for your age. Seriously. It sounds like you didn’t have the best relationship, which stinks, but you came out on the other end of it knowing what could have been or should have been and you will make sure it’s done better next time. Don’t lose that part of you. Your kids will thank you for it and your friendships will be strong for it too. I didn’t have a good childhood. I watched brothers above me make mistakes and I learn from them. I vowed not to follow in their footsteps and to basically not carry on the family traditions that made life bad. So I’ve stayed away from booze, smoking, drugs, etc., and I’ve spent as much time with my kid as possible. Especially after the divorce. He and I have always been buddies. He got me into playing on a Marvel Contest of Champions game for the last 6 years, and then a little bit of Pokémon Go. Now that he has a female “friend”, I don’t see much of him, but when I do, it’s meaningful time. I couldn’t ask for a better kid. I hope he thinks the same for me. If I ever raise my voice because I’m stressed and I know I was out of line, I will apologize and explain why. He doesn’t have a great relationship with his mom, and he doesn’t feel comfortable talking to her because she just cuts him down. But he will tell me anything. So I guess I’m saying all of this because you are correct in what you said about raising a kid. And I wanted you to know I do that, but also really appreciate that you’d say that to someone as a benefit to them. Very cool. As far as boxing and being fit goes, your size is good. Lean and quick. Bruce Lee was only like 130-135 I think, but very strong. You don’t have to be big to be strong. Keep at it. If you haven’t heard of Gracie Jujitsu, look them up. Super nice dudes. The have great BJJ training DVDs like the combative series. It’s great stuff to know in addition to your boxing. With the BJJ, you can use it if necessary and you’ll get respect, keep yourself safe, and the other person doesn’t have to get hurt. Look them up. I think you’d like it. Pec, keep your head up. Be positive. Keep training. Do your best in school. Don’t worry about what other think, because you know inside what’s right and wrong. Follow your gut. Stay connected my friend.
