I'm a lifelong Bruins fan and I cried like a baby watching this. Bravo Austin, Leafs and to your son for giving you a great day. Fight the good fight sir. I hope the Leafs can win a cup for you in your lifetime. Prayers and thoughts. Stay strong.

Thank you so much Paul Bisonnette, Sportsnet, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. As a staff member of the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick who supports individuals affected by Lewy Body Dementia, I am so appreciative of individuals such as yourselves to go above and beyond to make the life of this family better. Thank you all so much!!

"so many people are spreading kindness and thoughtfulness." it seems to be the Hockey way. Much love.

I am glad for the post game attire by Matthews so I could laugh and not cry. Tip my fedora to these class acts. Glad Ron and his family got to experience this.

If you buy into all this "Here's a fan, and he's got cancer. Let's explore how sports fandom is inspiring him to beat cancer......" marketing piffle, then you don't have a brain. This is all meant to make you feel good, so that when the team raises ticket/parking/concession prices, they lose fewer season seat subscribers (than they otherwise would in the absence of heart-tugging bullsh_t altruism). It also helps secure the support of (a) politicians, and (b) taxpayers (even non-fans) every 30 years when the team wants the public to pick up a substantial portion of the cost of their new stadium/arena. Wake up, you're being played!

Im from the uk so I don't fully understand the culture but this is why I love this sport. Every team does this and the leafs are among the best at it and Marner stands out for me for his deeds off the ice. From a Bruin.
