This program looks at four locomotives that operated mainline trips in 2017, starting with UP 844 on a 2-day trip from Ogden to Cheyenne in late April. Then we'll look at N&W 611 on her last trips of 2017 - 2 excursions from Roanoke to Walton, VA over Christiansburg Mountain in May. Next we'll travel to Chicago in mid-June to see NKP 765 running 60mph on the 'Joliet Rocket' excursions. The program ends with coverage of the 'Cascades Daylight' as SP 4449 ran from Portland to Bend, OR at the end of June.
    Total running time: 84 minutes

What if AOSR's 1551 can pull the Varsity and Joliet Rocket excursions like 765 did?

Your company has great videos and footage for sure! Even for DVD quality! I've got one of your DVDs (Volume 1 of Norfolk & Western #611) and you actually got me on camera in one shot of it! However, and I mean no offense, in all of these videos (including this one), the narrator does a bad job narrating [whoever he is]. He sounds too boring and monotone throughout, almost makes me want to fall asleep or watch it without narration. Another person who I showed one of your productions to thought the same thing. I even noticed that your latest previews on RU-clip don't have narration in them although they do in the full presentation. To help make things better for you in that regard, I'd be happy to do the narration in your future productions for free (with the appropriate tones in my voice throughout and clean of background noise). Watch my video of the California State Railroad Museum tour or my video of the Norfolk & Western #611 excursion in Virginia from the tool car to hear some samples of my [scripted] narration. Hope that helps!

How about that. All 4 identically famous steam locomotives in the United States. First comes the "Living Legend" (Union Pacific #844), then comes the "Spirit of Roanoke" (Norfolk & Western #611), then comes the Nickel Plate Road #765, and finally, comes the "Daylight" (Southern Pacific #4449).
