If you want to lose weight and successfully keep it off you should know that the way you start your day is very important. Let's say For example you take some bad advice and make the mistake of having a tall glass of orange juice first thing every morning, you're gonna find it a lot harder to lose any weight at all. But just like there's mistakes that you can make that'll slow your weight loss and even make you gain weight, there's are also things you can do every morning to speed up your fat loss and exponentially increase your chances of actually keeping that weight off. So Today I want to give you guys the 5 most effective things that you should be doing every day right after you wake up to help you burn fat faster. And first I want to start with breakfast. A few years ago breakfast was known almost unanimously as "the most important meal of the day." and mainstream fitness programs and diet plans would never even suggest the idea of skipping breakfast. Without breakfast it was believed that you would slow down your metabolism, lose muscle mass, and make your body more susceptible to gaining fat. However since then, other diet plans have become more mainstream and some of these plans specifically recommend that you consider skipping breakfast entirely. One of these plans for example is known as intermittent fasting and studies have shown that it's at least just as effective for fat loss and muscle retention as other continuous energy restriction type diet plans that don't make you skip meals. But at the same time A number of other studies have found that people that eat breakfast usually have a lower body mass index and they're less likely to be overweight and obese than people that skip breakfast. Research has also shown that skipping breakfast may be associated with other poor diet choices. Now the problem with many of these studies that are finding a correlation between not having breakfast and having a higher bmi is that they're observational studies, which means that it's hard to attribute the weight gain or weight loss directly to breakfast because somebody that wakes up early in the morning to have breakfast, may also be going on a daily run, eating better quality food, lifting weights at the gym more often and a number of other things that help them maintain a healthy weight. We can get much more information from a randomized control trial and luckily there was a recent met analysis that compared 13 randomized control trials on the effects of breakfast in relation to body weight and researchers concluded that adding breakfast into your diet plan may do nothing in terms of helping you lose weight and in

    Weighing myself every day:
I weigh myself twice a day. Once in morning, once before bed. I average the two numbers together to find what my actual weight is.
3 months into my diet, I have had a net loss of 18 pounds, with my weight seeming to take a "2 steps forward, one step back" pattern. I dropped 15 near instantly in 2 months, shot back up to only being 9 down, then slowly started going back down with the occasional (smaller) ups now and then throughout this last month. Starting weight 240, weight as of this morning is 222.1. Current record low since starting has been 221.7 (yesterday morning).

Why do most Intermittent Fasting advocates have people skip breakfast? What's wrong with eating Breakfast & a late lunch ( or OMAD), and skip Dinner?

Wish I COULD take advantage of this deal. Just not in my budget right now, and yes, IT IS A SCREAM OF A DEAL. It really is, and even EYE know it. But, fixed finances and all that jazz. I normally would be doing a "Yeah, right" nod to y'all getting me to stick to a 6 week challenge, but YOU are the one fitness person that I believe really could do what even my own damn daughter couldn't get out of me. AND SHE'S been a fitness trainer, and in fact has been a fitness fanatic since she was 10 years old! And I love her more than I love my own life. And I love my own life pretty well. And I didn't even make it through 3 days of her challenge, that she gave out for free! And yet, I do believe I would succeed with your 6 week challenge. So yes, I really do wish I could take advantage of this incredible offer. God Bless you for putting it out there.

Super good info. Thank you. I've been eating, lots of celery, tomatoe sandwiches, sweet potatoes, sweet corn on the cob, cauliflower, broccoli, bananas, nuts, cantaloupe and some Cod fish. I've lost over 30 pounds in a little over a month combined with fast walking (between 2-5 miles a day). Oh, and drinking only water, and on occasion, coffee with brown sugar.

Weighing daily is honest and weighing once a week can be even more demoralizing if that one day that you weigh was unintentionally proceeded by hidden salt and carbs, making it seem like no progress was made that week. Be educated as to what can make scale numbers rise or fluctuate and understand that there are things other than that that can account for those fluctuations.

When I was weighing myself once a month, I generally lost 7 or 8 lbs, every month. When I weighed myself more frequently, I generally gained 1-2 lbs every time I weighed myself. Was it the weighing that made the difference? No. I was under more stress and thinking more about weight loss, because, I was gaining weight from being under more stress. So, weighing myself quickly assessed the damage and lessened some of the stress. Also, when i weighed myself every 1.5 months, approx, I tended to lose 14- 20 lbs. Again, I was under less stress.
When I am under less stress, I worry less about survival and therefore think less of food, all the way around, and, don't notice as often if I forgot to eat, am more likely to eat just out of hunger than out of fear of someone coming by and stealing my food (a very valid fear, for much of my life) and more likely to, if I realize I am hungry later in the day after skipping (a) meal(s), simply shrug off the hunger and tell myself I can wait until the morning, at least.
I have found all weight loss or gain depends on a lessening or addition of stress. Having someone supportive, even just because they are there and non-judgmentally eating around the same time and the same things and they are not out of control themselves, makes for a great lessening of stress.
But, mostly, my point is, someone can weigh often or not, for vastly different reasons. It is not the action that causes weight gain or loss. It's the mindset behind the action. And, the circumstances behind the mindset.

I love how every video that I've watched mentions a few actual studies that I can look up. Very useful if one is in school. Because I gave birth during last year's Christmas holidays and now it's running season, I started to look at my diet, clean it up a bit and started running outside. It's finally beautiful here to be outside running at the end of May with an (almost) 5-month-old baby. Also, I started to notice belly fat, I didn't have much after giving birth, but I was eating everything to help with breastmilk production. I finally realized that all I needed to do was pump more often and massage to get more milk out. Geez, TMI, anyway, great video!
I also found you by YouTubing "lose belly fat."
Oops, I forgot to add that I do weigh myself every day and it's helpful for me. Because I keep a mental food journal, if I weigh more the next day, it's probably because of my portions from the day before. Now with my running, I don't have to worry so much about my portions, but on rest days, I'll need to remember to keep the portions smaller.

Here’s what I do. For about the past 6 months I’ve been intermittent fasting, (16/8 )and for the last month I’ve been sticking with the OMAD diet. My first and only meal of the day is usually around 11pm because of my work schedule. Sometimes it’s a healthy meal and sometimes it’s a bad meal, however I try to keep it low carb regardless of what I eat. I wake up at about noon everyday and weigh myself. I hit the gym for about an hour and a half to 2 hours with a 30 min cardio session after I hit the weights everyday, no days off. If I take a day off it’s unexpected. I stay away from junk food and soda as much as possible but let’s face it, we all slip sometimes. My journey began 11 months ago when I hit 236 pounds. The first couple months was nothing but working out and I added the intermittent fasting several months down the line. As of today I’m weighing in at 201 pounds. It’s taken me 11 months to lose 35 pounds but I made it happen. There was a month that I fell off my routine because I vacationed in Vegas for about 8 days, and when I got back home it was so hard to get back into the swing of things. I’m nowhere near my weight goal but I refuse to give up.

    1. Skip breakfast - intermittent fasting
    2. Apple cider vinegar (not detox) increase fullness, decrease blood glucose after eating carbs, 1 tablespoon of acv with 8 oz of water in the morning
    3. Weigh yourself to stay on track but for some it can demotivate and cause anxiety for a bad weigh in (after carb days and increased salt will make water weight go up)
    4. Consistent exercise and healthy diet. Workout in the morning to get it out of the way (body weight moves)
    5. Meal prep and make food at home (less temptations outside and you can control what is inside)

Yes. Thats the idea behind science. Its an ongoing correction of what we already know. Its the absolute opposite of "we know it all".
Its better to know you are doing something wrong than repeating it thinking it is good.

Your videos helps me alot while doing my REP clases. Just want to know 1 thing.. In a day shall we mix 1 anterior exercise with 1 posterior exercise. Or shall we just focus anterior - anterior or posterior -posterior for a particular day workout.

    Proper weigh in.
Weight checks are best done once a week.
The only reason why I would weigh in more than once a week is in case of a weight increase (recheck if needed in 2-3 days) or your physician tells you to. As stated several minor things can affect your weight.
    1) Weigh in on your day off when you are able to wake up relaxed and at least a couple days after or the morning of your cheat meal if you allow yourself to have one.
    2) No clothing if you need to wear anything limit it to underwear or something light weight. Be sure to wear the same garment every time you weigh in.
    3) Always use the bathroom before. Both urine and dedication. Shower after your weigh in.
    4) Weight in before eating or drinking anything; in fact a minimum of 12 hours fasting both food and water is preferable.

I just keep it simple. I workout as soon as I wake up, I eat one meal a day, and I have three or four main dishes to choose from, and 5 to 6 different sides, apples, and oranges, and almonds and pistachios for my treats during the meal.

I'll tell you right now. Go for a jog for 10 minute, yes only 10 minutes. Three months later you'll be glad to did. Eat smaller meals a day, like 5 small meals. I saw a huge tremendous change in my overall body structure and it feels go.☺☺

I am skeptical of IF. I have been doing it for 6 weeks and watching what I eat when I do eat on 16:8 and I've actually gained weight. This is with working out 5 days a week. I seem to be putting on muscle faster than I am losing fat. Any ideas to help this?

NicoKart im no professional but I believe your building lean muscle which weighs more than fat. IF is said to increase Hgh as well. I’ve put on 5 pounds since I started but lean muscle will keep your body fat down

dude i love how you take the time to educate us with science based research. its way better than some of the other fitness channels that just tell you to do something without understanding why or how it could affect you personally. ive been watching a lot of your videos and they have helped me lose over 10kg in a pretty short time keep up the good work brother.

I drink an 8 ounce glass of Green Tea (made with 2 tea bags) and 1 TBSP of Apple Cider Vinegar in the morning every day to improve digestion, not for weight loss because I didnt know it helped with losing weight. I just knew it helped get the good bacteria growth to help absorb more nutrients from the food you eat.

Get yourself a scale that measures BF, BMI, BW, BM and Weight as well (a weight watchers scale is cheap enough). You may gain 2 pounds (0.91 kg) but actually went down .05% body fat. Also, why Apple Cider Vinegar works because people ARE too alkaline. Check out Dr Eric Berg for more great nutritional knowledge as well that finally started working for me to bust plateaus.
