Well if they would have had Conchata Ferrell there they could have asked her what’s in the sauce. Seriously why wasn’t she there too?
I went there once. It’s actually not that bad! You should try it!
Too bad the interview was so short with simple questions. Great to see them together, thanks for sharing.
Lili Taylor🤗! Julia can't be the only star. Ha. Vincent was always hot to me. Annabeth was great in Shag too. I think Dogfight was my favorite Lili movie💖.
Just finished watching this movie. Hadn’t seen it in years. It’s one of those movies you can watch over and over.
I loved this movie back in 1988 and still love it now. One of my top 3 movies of all time. If not number one. I relate so much to it. It would be awesome if they did a sequel.
Loved, loved Mystic Pizza ❤️
L💛VE THIS MOVIE!!!
I have always heard about this movie for years I've either catch the middle or the end last winter it was on television and I thought is one of the best things I've ever seen I wish they would make more movies like this today every actor was right on point... I don't think they're movies like this today where every actor puts forth their best and more
I love Lili Taylor, she is such an underrated actress!
This is a real thing?? I thought it was just a 30rock joke
So the mother from Conjuring once dated Kingpin? That explains a lot.
Julia Roberts is an egomaniac.
The Jewish guy is calling it racist when the they were just being snobs. It’s a class thing more than any ethnic thing. The Portuguese characters are all white, this Jewish interviewer is projecting his Jewish outsider “otherness” on the Portuguese in the film. Jews will find any reason to make others “outsiders” because that’s what they feel about themselves,
Who’s more “other” than Jews? Does Charlottesville ring a bell?
Jews are still seen as outsiders and as “other” and they probably always will .. Adam Sandler would be taken for black anywhere in Alabama or Mississippi.
They were considered white-adjacent (i.e., not Anglo, so not really white), which is racist. There was a time in America when Italians and Portuguese were thought of as 'ethnic.' With the rise of Latinos (i.e., Latin American descent), the boundaries of whiteness were expanded to include virtually anyone who isn't black or brown. Now more and more 'white-looking' Latinos are claiming a white identity per the U.S. census.
Frank G Jews are also racists and snobs. What "otherness"?
Not one mention of the Portuguese theme of this movie. And this Jewish guy who is interviewing calls them racist when the Portuguese in the film are all white and Christian. This Jewish guy would not be c side red white by the kkk. Or white Americans in general.
Might as well repost it, since you posted the same thing twice. Anyhoo, they were considered white-adjacent (i.e., not Anglo, so not really white), which is racist. There was a time in America when Italians and Portuguese were thought of as 'ethnic.' With the rise of Latinos (i.e., Latin American descent), the boundaries of whiteness were expanded to include virtually anyone who isn't black or brown. Now more and more 'white-looking' Latinos are claiming a white identity per the U.S. census.
LOl as I was commenting before, I loved this movie so so so much because I am Portuguese and it was the first time I saw any reference of Portuguese people on a Holywood movie. I loved it so so so much! Apart from all the evident stereotypes and lack of knowledge regarding Portuguese culture LOL in the movie, I passed beyond all of that and just enjoyed this so fun and innocent fairy tale, cool movie :) I will see it again tonight after so many years :):):):) Loved it so so much!
1:56 Julia Roberts reaction & comment to the “making out” question “ You guys really did that?!” Soooooo, she didn’t even bother watching the movie?! That’s F’d up! Wow.
I remember when Annabeth was a bigger star than Julia Roberts
my favorite was Lilly Taylor
It was such a great pardon it is such a great movie
Even though I think Julia Roberts at time seems full of herself, at least she wasn't too big of a star to not be there for the reunion. If she hadn't, then for sure she would be seen as to good.
I wish they had the pizza owner.
I think the guy, Julia Roberts love interest, should have been a chance to speak!! HOW TERRIBLY RUDE, THAT THE INTERVIEWER IGNORE AND NOT ASK HIM ANY QUESTIONS!! He was treated like an outcast!! I like Julia Roberts. However, she does seem to go overboard on her laughter, with this interview. IT does seem like it's all about HER!! My favorite was the quite one and the married guy. I can't remember her or his names. Not good with names.
The guy on the right, im sorry to say: i cant rememver his name. He wasn't given a chance to speak!! HOW RUDE!!
S B His name is Adam Storke.
Oh love that movie show
Never seen it .
I would love a recap .. years later of these 6 characters.
Lili Taylor Rocks! And Mystic, CT is a gorgeous place...
Annabeth Gish is sexy
JoJo IS GORGEOUS!!!
Tim travers is handsome man
Damn. All 3 women aged well. They all look sexy. By the way, what the hell is the secret ingredient?
Gunnhild Edwards Perth
+Gunnhild Edwards She's more beautiful now. Wow!
Annabeth Gish was only like 16 when she did the film so she's only like 47 now.
Why didn't they talk about the darts and pool scene? That is handsdown the best scene in the movie, I mean you can literally feel the chemistry between charlie and daisy❤️❤️❤️
if u had told me julia roberts would be a staride have been flabbergasted
Did they not give Vincent a mic? XD
I love that Julia KNOWS the attention on her, but is doing her best to make sure it's on whoever else is talking. #Respect
Love this little gem. Where was Matt from this reunion?
She's such an ass. Lordy.
The look on Annabeth's face, when Julia said that, spoke volumes. I have never seen the movie, but remember talk about it. I didn't know my favourite actor ( Vincent D'onofrio) , was in the movie.
Dee Green what moment do you mean? :)
How beautiful did Annabeth become?
Where can I get the song renee geyer - is it hot in here
Geo Skan yeah :))
I LOVE this movie!! Definitely underrated
Lol easy e likes mystic pizza
I would have ripped Adam's asshole with this raw diseased throbbed of mine back in the 80's. Now I wouldn't even subject my dog to fucking his gross, old ass. These men need to go out of view FOREVER with there ancient looking faces
Darlene Paul : Totally agree on that one!
Vincent will always be hot
One day YOU will get older, someone may say this about you. Play nice.God Bless 🙏
Adam is still HOT. 💋
To whom are you referring?
I saw that movie when it came out. Loved it then, love it now! Watched it countless times since! ♡♡♡
annabeth is amazing and the rest of that cast is really great but julia roberts...... i hate julia. i´m sorry for that but that´s the truth.
Why do you hate her?
chick flick and I watched it 1000 times...actually went to Mystic Conn. to eat the freakin restaurant...drove me nuts...
Julia of course is one of the biggest stars on the planet and it really is nice to see that all of the cast members love and adore her especially the other two girls Lili Taylor and Anabeth Gish. You can see the camaraderie and respect. They all wanted and got, to varying degrees, a career in movies and entertainment and are still going strong. Lili Taylor was great in American Crime and Julia was amazing in Osage County.
i would like to see a sequal when the girls get married and have kids of there own . Have there kids work for the resturant Mystic pizza
Gish is the only one who looks the most different.
Julia! Julia! Julia! I think she was great in this but, she wasn't the only star in the film. Jeez! Talk about overkill!
The other girls were better
They are just so fabulous. I'm glad they all seem to be friends.
Don't forget - they know how to act.
My (big sister) from big brother big sister/ mentor... Ruthie Coors, took my to her house and we made pizza and watched this movie aww how I loved her she was so nice! Sadly I lost all contact with her I wish I can find her I tried but I still can't it's been about 12 years, but oh how she was a big influence on me and my life! I wish there was a way to tell her.
Julia is so ugly now.....too bad her beauty didn't last long..
but yet she just one most beauty woman in the world for the 5th time.....soooo too bad you're wrong.
It must be exhausting to be around Roberts. She's just sooo full of herself. The photos from this reunion were so telling - Roberts thinks it's all about her. I find her so repellant.
elanacar I've thought that as well. I get the feeling it has to be about her. Like in Runaway Bride.
I wonder how you would be, hmmm!
At 3:38 Vincent D'Onofrio called Julia Roberts "Miss Roberts" were he is only a few years older than her
+Daniel Kinsey Addressing someone by "Miss" or "Mister" is a sign of respect. It has nothing to do with age.
4:24 Roberts spewing her usual drivel.
she just hogs the limelight
+musicaltheatergeek79 By presumptuously suggesting that she's the happiest person out of the group.
+bigtux11 how do you mean?
OMG, they all look so beautiful.
"I'm the most innately happy"....that was so awkward.
ScireTwins she has resting Bitch Face.
I agree completely. She seems like one of those people that even in the most mundane of situations, she's going to have a great time.
Nadia D Yes, weird comment to make.
Nadia D presumptuous for sure!!
Julia Roberts is an asshole
Lili's laugh 😭😂
3 words: Lili Anne Taylor ❤️
+Alessandra Manas Yes :)
I was at Mystic Pizza 2 years ago. It's a very crowded restaurant, and a tourist trap. The restaurant walls are filled with pictures of the actors and scenes from the movie. I think the movie is on the restaurant TV's also. It was an enjoyable day in Mystic and the pizza was very good.
+Angela Carleton Pizza is really good, it's different. Not like the typical New Haven pizza, you get in CT. 🍕😋
I'm glad you said the pizza was good! I also love Portugeese food!
When I visited Mystic in the early 90's I was told it was filmed in Stonington and Wikipedia also mentions Groton, sounds like it was filmed in several places
cityofchamps66 Yes, it was filmed in Mystic. I work at the original restaurant and get many questions about the movie, location of filming, etc. However, there is a second location a few towns over.
Movie was not filmed in Mystic???
I believe Conchata Ferrell played the owner of Mystic Pizza. She hasn't changed a bit. She was a heifer even then.
I love this movie
Thumbs up at 2:58. A great response to a very stupid question.
I finally saw this movie today and I love this movie! Totally gonna buy it.
I think it would be the most fantastic thing if Julia made movie with all her old girlfriend castmates from this film and Pretty woman. It would be awesome.
Monica Reyes as a "pretty woman" that is kind of a great idea for fanfiktion ...
+Anaksunamen999 And the girls from the movie "Satisfaction". Not the greatest of movies, but still a good summertime chick flick.
Two words....Vincent D'Onofrio. Nuff Said.
MsJackalicious I had such a crush on him after I saw that movie. 🤩
You're an idiot Andrea. The guy in the interview highlighted how racism goes beyond simply anti-black and anti-Semitic prejudice. I don't know whether he is Jewish or not (these things don't tend to concern me) but assuming you're right then contrary to your racist BS the interviewer should be commended for suggesting that other white ethnic groups apart from Jews experience prejudice. It goes to show that you're completely wrong and small-minded about Jewish people.
All the Portuguese characters were white so it wasn’t racist just class bigotry cuz the Portuguese were portrayed as fishermen while the WASP da,ily was wealthy. It was all very stereotypical BS Becca’s the Portuguese in Mystic are actually well of and by no means poor fishermen.
yeah. but everyone wants to wave the racist card around these days. Bit over it really.
+Lesley Birde Im pretty sure there were some derogatory statements made about Portuguese immigrants in the film by that family. I'd consider that racist.
The interviewer said horrible racists but really they were snobs. Thats all.
I never understand these "classics". Mystic Pizza, Empire Records, Dazed and Confused, etc. all different in some respects, but all have huge fan followings and are considered "coming of age movies", and yet they are boring as shit. Is it a chick thing? I dunno.
+kev3d Not a fan of 'Dazed' but, many that I know have seemed to love it. Both Genders
+kev3d I think it's just about nostalgia. There are certain movies that I don't consider well made but they remind me of childhood so I'll always identify with them in some way.
Dazed & Confused was "boring as shit"? O'Bannion's gonna come after you w/a paddle for saying that!
This was definitely one of those films that is worth watching with my girlfriends, especially if we're having a girls night-in (and we're in our 20's). Haha! I think that this is one of those epic chick-flick movies that has ever been made. Love it! And btw ABC News, can you please do a reunion interview with the cast of Dying Young (w/c includes Roberts and D'Onofrio again) and Sixteen Candles? I absolutely would LOVE to see that happen. :)
Dying Young isn't a "classic" and didn't have a big audience. Though a good film, not exactly the cheery, uplifting story-style GMA likes to typically reunite the cast of.
DaWson C and Charmed...
Matt Damon's too awesome to come to this reunion. He had matters to attend to, namely killing assassins with the yellow pages.
Julia is the most happy?! Ok........
+kalia61 I think when they said 'happy' they meant positive. I think the rest of the cast didn't become as big of stars because they Are maybe more sensitive, take things more personally. In Hollywood you have to have tough skin and if you're just always a happy, positive, optimistic individual, you're going to go further than if you let things get to you.
+iw32 Once again, I can't argue that. With Kalia61's original post in this thread questioning Julia's happiness, and your statement that her happiness is likely due to her success, I should have said "That's who she is. I've been a fan since Pretty Woman and I've never seen her anything but giddy." I do agree that she is a capable actress and also can be quite good in particular roles. All in all, I think she was "happy" long before she was a superstar and it's a large part of her becoming one -- the audience was quickly connected to her infectious, joyful presence :D
+iw32 its a showbusiness darling, dont be naive, not all of them want to be "huge movie stars". I agree that she has charisma but the way she was behaving during this interview you could see that she is attention seeker, no doubt she became the huge movie star, the expression of her colleagues when she said she is the the happy one tells is all....
+iw32 Well I suppose I can't argue that. However, I'll say Vincent D'Onofrio is held in higher regard in his ability as an actor than Julia Roberts by most of their peers and a majority of cinefiles. An 'Oscar' don't mean diddly.
+iw32 Vincent D'Onofrio and Lili Taylor aren't exactly chopped liver, ya know?
Truthfully I couldn't stand it
That’s why you’re here commenting on this obscure RU-clip video? Not buying it.
FREAKING LOVE IT!!!
