My mother was diagnosed in 1973 as having a psychopathic Personality disorder. She gaslighted my father until he was deeply depressed, alienated him from me and my sisters as well as friends. When he threatened to kill himself and the rest of the family she left me and my sisters alone every night with this knowledge. He did suicide and he had we three girls with him for 3 hours until he let us go. All this so my mother could have sex with my foster brother. I have not had anything to do with her for 30 years.
I would love to know what a psychopathic personality disorder is in todays understanding.

I realize my husband is a sociopath and a covert narcissist
Although he has been very covert.
My husband has a conscience with no emotion behind it.
I think he’s both narc and sociopath that makes sense to me based on his behavior.

Got away from a "friend" who was a narcissist (and I'm an empath. Bad combo.). What a mess! I didn't realize how far down my emotions had spiraled trying to raise him up out of all his negativity. He had me feeling so sorry for him. I experienced the things you said. His life was a mess and he talked about how everyone always did him wrong and you couldn't raise him up out of the constant, negative state, and when you tried, he would accuse you of siding with those other people even if he was the one in the wrong. Any solutions that you tried to give him, he would dismiss as nonsense. He would keep you on the phone all night long several days a week talking about this stuff to no end, and if you had to go because you had to work the next day, he would be mad or put you on his crap list. He had me feeling so low that I "cut him off" in one day and then I "ghosted" him. It was the only way.

What about James Fallon and his article about 'Life as a Non-Violent Psychopath'? (I'm genuinely curious) He claims that psychopaths are more or less born, that they have an actual physical disability that doesn't allow their brain to experience empathy. He also claims that psychopaths can be productive members of society, even if they aren't really predisposed to be so. What is your opinion on that? And if we will all be harmed by psychopaths, sociopaths and narcissists, do you think that we, as a society, should somehow break ourselves off from them? Or them off from us, I suppose. I've seen personally that some people don't respond to... well, any treatment. What should we do with those who don't respond to things like that?

Looking forward to your reply. :)

#fakademicfraud strikes back: This time the winner in fraud is Qualitative Market Research: An International Journal, edited by Andrew Lindridge (Reader in Marketing, Newcastle Business School, Newcastle University - London, UK

    Here's the fraud:
Prior to submitting my paper "Brand Meaning Co-Creation in Social Media Brand Communities: A Laddering Approach (Under Review)" on 23 March 2019,

there was only one special issue published in earlier this year under the title Special Issue: The Impact of Social Media in Marketing . As soon as I submitted my paper, the special issue was renamed into Special Issue: The Impact of Social Media in Marketing Part 1, and a second part appeared
Surely coincidentally, the first paper in the second special issue was called
Tackling social media data analysis: Comparing and contrasting QSR NVivo and Leximancer, that is, it included a screen by screen analysis of social media with NVivo, exactly what was presented in my paper that was submitted prior to that sudden 2nd special issue. In the meantime, my paper has not been even assigned to a reviewer. But what's even worse in this gangbang of fraud, the special issue papers appear to have been initially submitted in the beginning of 2017 (!!!). This is the typical fraudulent tactic of 'bakdating'. Once a thief always a thief.

PS: You'll be among the very first in the list, just because you are so thick (albeit typical of masonic MI6 trash) as to think that you may employ ridiculous tags such as 'narcissism' of which, of course, you don't have the slightest idea (save for the same popular idea that is common currency among apes like you- this is addressed to Andrew Lindridge)

Unfortunately, we are living in a world that has promoted narcissism. No longer is there right and wrong, we are told, follow your conscious, but the narcissist conscious is dead. I’m so amazed at the complete stupidity of narcissist, their life is so exterior that their shallowness becomes so transparent. Narcissist are miserable insecure people, and they live in constant fear of being unmasked. As Oscar Wilde said” You made the mask now you have to wear it.”

She acted like a psycho: taunting of affairs, daily beatings, poisonings, dangerous risk taking, etc, but she NEVER admitted anything. So I fall down on the side of sociopath, as the psychopath does not care what you think, unless they are manipulating you, so admit wrongdoings.
    It's quite confusing.

I have definitely seen through this cultural indoctrination of admiring anti-heros and bad guys. From the perspective of these characters being interesting and complex characters, I get it BUT! the Walter Whites and the Dexters, the Tony Sopranos...I don't root for these characters to get away with their crimes. I want them to be held accountable. They harm people, torture, kill people! And I'm not saying these characters should always be caught.
I'm just saying this has been a part of this culture to put these guys up on pedestals since Jesse James and Billy the Kid and those guys since early in the history of this country. What's worse is that the fandoms bully people who root for the character working against these characters. People hated Walter White's wife and the people who sided with her. People hated Tara on Sons of Anarchy, the wife of Jax, that show's anti-hero and the people that defended her character.
    It's an interesting phenomenon....

Yeah I met a narcissist/sociopath. The problem is that they got camouflage....they hide their true intend they are able to do damage before you see through their sh!t. Looking back on it, the warning signs weren't so much the narcissist but the people around him that should have given him away. When the people around him talk about always being loyal to him, owing everything to him, never leaving or betraying him, or say things like "yes I am dumb and don't know anything". When the people around him act like a jealous lover or sibling rivalry. When the situation is one of chaos and infighting. Run for the love of God run! Cause he can fool a stranger for a little bit....but the people around him are what he is trying to do to you....they are the result of the mindgames he is starting to do to you.

Dr. Carter: Your video and the accompanying remarks are quite informative. Only just found this video from January, today. Wish you would have had this video topic available years ago when I had to deal with a certain someone in my life. My situation devolved so badly that the other individual managed to get my wider community at-large to believe that I'm the one off my rocker. This individual was able to put out just enough disbelief about me that others started to question if it was 'alright' or if it was 'safe' for them to talk to me. It's been really devastating. However, I have a question for you.
How difficult is it for you as a practitioner, to diagnose these symptoms in a person; especially when you encounter the, 'Rico Suave' (I'm too cool to get caught) personality types? If their whole outlook in life is to be able to do things to people and NOT get caught then what ultimately ends up being their downfall. They work so hard not to get caught and to be tagged as not at fault it would seem to me that even practitioners can sometimes fall victims. Would love to hear what you have to say.

I'm just now realizing my ex-husband is all three. I really didn't know much about narcissism. I started to learn about it after I file for divorce. I just knew that my husband now my ex-husband had no emotion didn't care for anyone but himself and he does not deal with anyone unless he's getting something out of it. And he was greedy beyond belief. I was with this man 31 years. My journey with him begin when I was 14 so I really did not know better. It was so bad that for my birthday I couldn't get a birthday present that I wanted it had to be something that he could enjoy too. For my birthday he would only take me out to dinner or take me for a weekend getaway because it was something for him too. The weekend getaways were always terrible because I could never get him to connect with me emotionally or in any way for that matter. There was just sex. I couldn't get a shirt because he couldn't wear the shirt. If I had any type of pain if I said my finger hurts he would say you think your finger hurts as if to say his finger hurts worse than mine. And yes he has gotten violent with me and my pleads always fell on deaf ears. His business dealings are never clean they are always dirty he always manipulates to get more than what he's supposed to. Cheats on his taxes you name it, it's never straight up. Now that we are divorce he uses the children. I wish I knew then what I know now.

This ***needs*** to be taught to middle school students. And then again when they're high school students. STOP the cycles! STOP the evil!

Dude, I'd take a Worthers Original from you; shit, I think I'm actually interested in a over 50s end of life policy!
I suppose I'm trying to say I appreciate the video and your fairly direct sharing of authoritative information delivered with some degree of charisma. Thanks.
Have you considered advertising or acting???

Wow, thank you. You explain things so simply and make it easy to understand! I wish I’d watched this video in my teens. I would have made such different life choices!

It seems I'm constantly surrounded by these people. They usually constitute the closest relationships in my life. Heck! I was given birth by the worst one of them all! No wonder suicide is such a comforting idea to consider!

I'd love to know how many people are narcissists. 1% or more of the population?

My boy friends ex wife is a narcissist and I showed him videos because he had no idea why she acted so crazy and if he did not agree with her she would scream at him and put him down. They have been divorced 20 years and now he won’t even talk to her or answer the phone. One time he text her a lady had died they went to school with and she said “well she did drugs in school” he said yea but she grew up had a family and retired from the post office and thought she was disgusting for reacting that way!
