He says I feel faintly smug about it and gets nothing back from Colbert. US and GB are two countries separated by a common language.

Just for anyone who wants the truth: 1) the gay affair was never proven in court 2) the "victim" who claimed he had a sexual affair spend time in a mental institution. Grant is playing into the usual everyone is gay because I want them to be fetish. Grain of salt, people.

Of course, Colbert’s former colleague Jon Stewart once called Hugh Grant the worst guest he’d ever had. But I watched that interview and it was pretty clear Stewart had done no prep for it, which pissed Grant off.

It's weird how Stephen tried his best to get Hugh to say something negative about Trump. He WAS a decent man. Many have said so. There sadly is a difference between Trump and President Trump. Besides Europeans couldn't care less about him...

Stephen needs to drop the whole Trump bashing game he continuously plays. He almost wants all his guests to agree with him. Hugh very civilly refused to bash the President. All other public figures ought to follow suit. Irrespective of what anyone says about Trump, he has the last laugh, he made it to the office of President. I'm sure he doesn't lose sleep, not when there is more pertinent issues facing the county at this juncture.

Anybody notice that Hugh Grant had to parse his words on O.J.? The United Kingdom doesn't have the same absolute right to free speech as we have here in the United States. It's much easier there to sue somebody for libel/slander. Probably a force of habit that a British celebrity preemptively self censors.
