As someone who performs in theater, I wholeheartedly agree with the artists. It's just gross how some fans feel entitled to them, with no concern for personal space. Also, the fact that we're so obsessed with saving things for social media is depressing. Whipping out your phone to film says that you don't really care about being there and absorbing the energy of the experience as it unfolds live before you. Performers onstage can tell when people in an audience individually or collectively aren't giving their full attention and it's disheartening at best and insulting at worst. In short, I miss the days when basic, proper theater etiquette was just common sense.
