    4-stroke @ 10.000 RPM = 5.000 sparks/minute. Some CDI’s spark also at TDC on exhaust stroke, so then 10.000 sparks/minute.

      Lukas you right..1 sparks will waste..small single cylinder motorcycle dont have sensor to determine tdc is power or exhaust stroke

    • Matias Cao
      Matias Cao 2 years ago

      Thats why its not permanent

    • Matias Cao
      Matias Cao 2 years ago +1

      yutuniopati the spark needs to happend before top dead center (when the piston goes up, it compresses the air/fuel mix), so the spark needs to combust only at that stage of the rotation

    • yutuniopati
      yutuniopati 2 years ago

    10000rpm on four or 2 stroke ? or 10000 ignitions? a spark cant tun cicles

  • Vladislav Stanimirović

    l've made a new PCB for my rev counter, but l need to calibrate it, can l use this setup to simulate the signal from the ignition coil? l have no ECU, l'ts a carbureted engine.

  • Miles Williams
    Miles Williams 2 years ago

    I think you'll find that one sparkplug is ignited less than that at 1000 rpm, you are unless it is a single cylinder

    Whats is needed to make the spark plug produce the electricity? I'd like to make some tests and just want to know the easiest way of producing sparks from the plug.

    • Erik Persson
      Erik Persson 2 years ago

      Yes, I just meant, what do you connect the spark plug to, in order to make it produce sparks, in an indoor (non-engine) environment? Sorry if my first question was a bit vague, I just want to know what I'd need in order to use spark plugs at home, without having to use any fancy equipment or engines?

    • Kamil G
      Kamil G 2 years ago

      that's not how 4T works mate,
      1 = intake, compression
      2 = spark (power), exhaust
      Look at this gif please
      www.motocykle125.pl/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/4StrokeEngine_Ortho_3D_Small.gif

    • lnviciblee
      lnviciblee 2 years ago

      4 crankshaft turns. Look:
      1 = Intake
      2 = Compression
      3 = Power - 1 spark
      4 = Exhaust

    actually, if 10000 sparks a minute, it is actual 20 000 engine rpm.

    • sera56jase
      sera56jase 2 years ago

      If spark is triggered by a camshaft position sensor then yes 10,000 sparks 20,000rpm . If it is triggered by a crankshaft position sensor then no, 10,000 sparks - 10,000 rpm
