  • Published on Dec 6, 2018

I'm not American. Why did Stephen act so shocked at him not having read To Kill A Mockingbird? Btw, on an entirely different note, does anyone else think Jeff Daniels has a slight resemblance here to George Bush Sr. ??

I'm sorry, but racism today isn't the nearly as pervasive or as terrible as the racism of the 1930's. We'll never fully be rid of racist morons in this country, but I do not think we live in a racist country.

At 8:20, what's with Stephen putting up his feet on the desk? It's such rude, ill-mannered behavior, even here in the U.S. In some other cultures it's considered insulting to display to others the soles of the shoes the way Stephen did.

    • Neil O'Neal
      Neil O'Neal 6 months ago

@supercool239 ya, you make valid points. I just think sometimes nowadays people get a bit too casual in a public facing role. For instance, I can't imagine Johnny Carson doing that.

    • supercool239
      supercool239 6 months ago

Neil O'Neal they are not similar at all, showing your bare ass is much worse then showing your shoe soles.
Also, showing your shoe soles would only be considered rude if he was in a small, private or personal situation like siting at home with acquaintances, it’s not rude at all in front of an audience who would be expecting unorthodox things to happen. Also the crowd didn’t make a sound or a big deal out of it nor did Jeff so not that much people found it offensive

    • Neil O'Neal
      Neil O'Neal 6 months ago

@supercool239 It's clear what Stephen was saying jokingly, but Intentionally exposing the soles of your footwear, in a full frontal way, is similar to mooning which is considered jarring or offensive or rude or shocking. Stephen did that to the entire audience. Plain bad manners.

    • supercool239
      supercool239 6 months ago

he was just joking around. it was like stephen saying 'let me tell you how many shows i do' in a jokingly laid back way that would not be considered rude at all

I wonder how Dad felt when he saw Jeff's breakthrough performance in Dumb&Dumber. I love Jim Carrey but I still haven't forgiven either of them for that toilet scene - they should have left that one on the cutting room floor.
