Remember when the daughter was talking about the government putting a chemical in the water to control us. Also why didn’t the government cover this up better, like killing all of the clones they created?

Another moment that went over some peoples heads was when they are singing I got 5 on it in the car and The fake Adelaide tells her son to feel the music and she starts snapping but she's actually offbeat and she's a ballet dancer so it goes to show that she was the fake one all along. The real one would've stayed on beat.

The double still deserves the life she got. She managed to escape and made the new connections, that family belongs to her. I still understand why the döpplegangers wanted revenge, but that doesn't make the Fake Adelaide's desire to have a better life unjustified.

You missed the VHS beside the TV in the beginning - C.H.U.D ( Canabalistic Humanoid Under Dwellers). Terrible but great movie. Right there you know it's gonna have something to do with things coming to the surface.

    (1) if they're always mimicking the movements of the surface people (i.e. the ballet dancing) then why would Red's dancing be considered special? if anything, Red would have been able to talk since she was like 7 years old on the surface. and (2) the writers clearly couldn't decide on rules and when to follow them because sometimes they're mimicking their movements and then other times they're not. like the boy and the fire thing. it doesn't make sense when and why they stop and start mimicking.

Am I the only person who didn't like this movie? It was well made apart from the tone. I don't like comedy in my horror movies but that's just a personal preference. I felt this movie was flat.
Before anyone tells me I didn't get the meaning. I did, I don't think it's subtle about it, in fact it beat us over the head with it. Nor do I think symbolism justifies stretching reality this much. It's a shame because I wanted to like it, I thought Get Out was great but honestly I found this pretty forgettable.

i know this is not the focus of the movie but how are the doppelgangers alive in mean they have to travel in the tunnels but by walking and thats a lot of kilometers also rabbit is not enough to keep the body healthy enough for them to fight also they are basically thousands of armed forces in the U.S so how could the doppelgangers kill that much people i mean is not like they have guns in the tunnels (don't give me the "the armed forces also have doubles so they were shocked and died instanly" they armed forces or betters said the people are not that stupid) and finally fucking healthcare down in the tunnels would be horrible they would all die in weeks from a simple flu.

Fair review; at times it felt too opinionated. I think you have a interesting point with the small detail plot holes, but it feels ur criticizing that too much. Many times it’s the opposite.

I know I’m late but I have some theories: I think the main message was meant to portray that we shouldn’t label tethered as bad and humans as good. It’s about the conditions they grew up in. For example, the person to make the tethered stand up for themselves was actually human, and Jason still loved his mom even after realising she was tethered and that he was half tethered. I also felt vibes of trust between Jason and Pluto which could have been because they both sympathised each other, both being half tethered half human. I think this is a really powerful message and it may not be what Peele was trying to portray but it’s what I got from the movie.

so a thing i saw was this: the reason the little girl (at the beginning aka the mom) didn’t talk at the police thing is because when they switched, the people underground couldn’t talk, so she couldn’t talk. that’s why the mom was worried that she wasn’t talking. because they were switched, and the reason the real mom (aka red) could talk is because she used to be in the human world so she could talk

One of the red flags that showed how the Adelade we knew in the beginning was actually Red was when the tethered daughter is launched into the tree and "Adelade" takes a moment to be with her and stay until she dies. Same with the tethered son, she attempts to touch him as he goes backwards into the flames.

By far the most terrifying thing I found about the movie is the fact she got switched and the fake one was brought up to become a "normal" person. Whereas the normal real person at the start turned into the murderous, disturbed being.

Ik that the good mom died, and the bad was the one who survived, but I mean, idc cause she cared for the children and didn't do anything bad to them so it does suck that the good die but, aleast she treats them good. (The bad one)

What I don't understand was why did the Tethered Adalde have enough free will in the first place to be able to switch places with Red, when it was clear everyone else didn't. Also, if Red and Adalde were tethered, then why does Red copy the ballet dance that Adalde does? Shouldn't it be the other way around, since Red is the original?
And how did everyone else Untether themselves enough to go and kill their counterparts?

    • Teddie912
      Teddie912 3 days ago

Shai Dreamcast when Tethered Adelaide got on the surface her parents took counseling and they told them “ since your daughter doesn’t speak maybe she should dance or draw to express herself “ - Tethered started the dancing process but wasn’t very good at it since they lacked soul/rhythm.. where the Human one “RED” was dancing flawlessly underground and the tethered made her their leader .. then she puts the 30 year plan in motion to get to the surface.

So do the kids of the clone mom have a soul or the kids with the clone dad. I mean since the evil kids mom wasn't a clone shouldn't they been able to talk?

They followed their tethered through the tunnels that's why it was mentioned in the beginning of the movie

You may notice too that neither of the Adelaides hurt the kids..or wanted them to be in harms way.

The part that also gave me chills was when at the end Jason looks at his mom ‘Red’ in the car as if he knew something, as if he knew his mom was gone and that who he thought was his mom is the clone, but he seemed to shrug it off. Maybe it’s just me tho.

    • Teddie912
      Teddie912 3 days ago

Whitney A just a metaphor about the U.S . We know a lot of secrets in our country . A lot of stuff never been solved ( planes vanishing , police locking up the wrong people , government plotting stuff ) - but we put a MASK on and go on as if nothing ever happened. But it’s also 2 twists cause the son is switched also . Each side of the family’s have 2 evil and 2 good

Mabe that's why Adaline's son at the end was freaked out because his Mom snapped & acted like the clones for awhile & he figured it out. I think the son & Adaline are the same & the daughter & her Dad are the same that's why they're in the back. I noticed Adaline seemed closer to her son despite his mask weirdness, I also think Red didn't care about dying because she wanted to ruin the clone's world & expose her which she did. Now her world is kind of like Red's growing up.

    • Tony Molatto
      Tony Molatto 3 days ago

@Teddie912 Oh that does make sense. Wow. The tethered son may've burned the other son's mouth so he could't talk. They may be on a speak say see no evil thing. Mabe at the end in the van the mother found out & they're keeping eachother's secret. She doesn't feel alone because he's tethered too.

    • Teddie912
      Teddie912 3 days ago

Tony Molatto yeah the son is switched as well . Each sides of the family are divided. The tethered son and mom are the only ones sitting down in the living room & their both damaged ( mom can’t really talk - son mouth burned ) - Red sends the father and daughter outside to be killed . Red keeps mom and son inside to have a talk about what they did . Mother and Son are only ones that go inside tunnels - daughter and dad are left outside

during the movie you can tell or it is hinting at Adelaide being a shadow person because when she was killing or fighting she kinda was snarling and stuff plus she did not want to kill Red's kids like how she hushed the girl in the tree how she was saying no no to the pyromaniac kid when he moon walked in the fire plus maybe since i watched to the end her determination to go find Jason and kill Red is shadow people type determination to cut the TETHER idk but the ending is super sad for me lol plus what they did with that ending fight scene was beautiful with the beat and dance but still sad sad sad not horrifying as it should have been
