The lid doesn’t come with the pot, it’s from an old kettle. It fitted so I use it. I also drilled holes in the pot and added the old kettle bail in it. The link is for the pot and sauce pan only

Why did you use the fire and not the stove to fry your food? You burnt it. Olive oil needs a lower operating temperature. You heat the cold oil before frying or the oil soaks into the food and the food surface is not seared. Onions need a lower temperature. Remember, Carbon or Black food is burnt! You need your fryng pan to be around 350F/175C and not 500F/260C!!!

Man i love those frost river packs. Question- have you been able to find a way that works for you to comfortably carry your load outs? Thinking of pulling the trigger on one but see all kinds of horror stories on how uncomfortable it is. I know its a traditional style pack with out a frame. But looks like you are using a sit pad or something inside to give it a little structure? Great video as always, definitely one of my favorite channels.

Another great video. Your scene composition and mastery of light, sound, background, and subject framing is truly an art form. Reminds me of the movie "Jermiah Johnson" starring Robert Redford that was shot in the pristine wilderness of NE Utah back in the 1970s, and like most of your videos, required very litte dialogue to convey the script and plot to the viewer. Obviously it was "freezing ass" cold out there as conveyed by the trembling of your normally calm and steady hands during the meal prep and cook. No acting required there! There was no thermometer in the video to provide us viewers a reference persective, but your shaky hands clearly showed us American Yanks that it was bitterly cold outside (10 degrees Fahrenheit) even though there was no snow or frost on the ground or steam exhaust from your lungs to make that more apparent. You truly have the most artistic RU-clip videos I've ever watched, and you could be in Hollywood making big money as a scene scripter and cinematographer......if they were still making movies that were art instead of artifice out there. Keep up the great work!

please please just call this type video "the outdoor cooking show" then just go with that theme.
all your food came from home/civilization anyway right?

    • Nagualero
      Nagualero 7 months ago +5

@Paul C Thanks but Just being out there should be enough... I understand what you are conveying. I am an outdoor painter by profession, check my other videos. I get what you are saying and I do appreciate the feedback. I go out there to paint for a living. but even if i went out there just to make a camp... so what? Semantics really. Mostly I am trying to share my love of the nature. I believe thats enough, dont you think so? Hopefully inspiring others through my work to go out in the woods, to just take a break from the rat race and connect with something else... I call it bushcraft.
I believe it gets the point across. Thanks again for your constructive criticism. But I am sticking with my guns though.
If anybody is out in the woods in freezing temperatures, doesnt die and makes a holiday out of it, i call it a craft. Some may disagree, thats ok by me.
Not here to be anything else, but me doing my thing or pretend I know or own the meaning of the word Bushcraft.

    • Paul C
      Paul C 7 months ago +1

what kills and saddens me most about "bushcraft" videos is no one ever seems to have a real purpose to be out there. at least with a theme type video about outdoor/camp cooking there's a real purpose for being out there, the cooking. the title for this particular video is what brought me here. take my criticism and run with it! no one else is doing this sort of thing yet.
also, I like that you're not using ridiculous music or a lot of talk. your action and text overlay is enough to describe what's going on.
      keep makin videos!

    • Nagualero
      Nagualero 7 months ago +3

🙄No, there’s plenty of bushcraft in the video. Did you know that outdoor cooking, setting up camp, making a fire etc it’s also part of what we call bushcraft? By the way I killed the cow with my bare hands in the forest and grew the potatoes myself 😝

They are oils and kept in an insulated box. Even so that’s why I quickly made a fire inside the tent. But usually they are fin3 anyways unless I live them out in the open.
