Wow! As an aussie, you just got me thinking about gold prospecting on the weekends in rural areas. The goldrush in Australia was between 1851-1871 in mainly Victoria and Adelaide.
But gold is found in Tasmania and Western Australia too. I bet it's there if you're willing to look.

To realize that the cracks of a city sidewalk may well contain dust and small scraps of gold, silver, and/or platinum, precious and semi-precious stones is hard to believe. Yet now, after watching this video, we do just that.
I'm sorry to have missed out on the opportunity of winning the giveaway. Yet for me, watching you make your discoveries is in itself, a great consolation prize.

The rubies inside watches are synthetic rubies and are extremely small. You'd never see them with the naked eye in dirt like that. I'm a watchmaker. That all is an unbelievable score! Good job!

    • bed562
      bed562 Month ago

well i took basic jewelry making and i can tell u watches dont crack...thats a weld i think that seals it. like swiss made watches and rolexs, not solder.
those gems are fully mounted, ive seen it. they do not fall out..only fakes and its hard to tell here in california. the rain washes that shit right off the street if it were real diamonds or gems...as the street divide is too metric and small.
i think watches in the industry are far more expensive and complicated than jewelry...those diamonds are insured i think. like rolex's...
the term ur thinking of is fabricated...also a jewelry making term. you have fabricated diamonds nowadays too...

    • J. De la Poer
      J. De la Poer 2 months ago +1

Also a watchmaker here. What stood out to me is that watch movement jewels are more like little micro hockey pucks with holes through their centers 99% of the time. Like perfectly smooth little rings almost, other than the capstones and even then.... You'll never see these big, facet-cut cabochon style rubies in a watch.
Some of the really early pocket watches did use relatively huge, natural diamonds as balance capstones though!

Repent and follow Jesus my friend! Repenting doesn't mean confessing your sins to others, but to stop doing them altogether. Belief in Messiah alone is not enough to get you into heaven - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Contemplate how the Roman empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years to accomplish the religion of the Israelites C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate though because you can start a relationship with God and have proof. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life. - Revelation 3:20
Revelation has been unfolding since Jesus died. The Popes have claimed to be equal to God and set themselves in Jesus' place (antichrist(s)). Vatican City (Which is its own nation BTW) have risen up to fulfill the role of the false prophet
Regarding the man of lawlessness or antichrist, 2 Thessalonians 2:4 says “Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” The restrainer that the Apostle Paul was referring to in 2 Thessalonians was the Western Roman Emperor, who held back the Popes from taking power. Once the last Western Roman Emperor was removed from power in 476 AD, the Pope was given civil and ecclesiastic authority over Rome; healing the deadly head wound of the beast in Revelation 13, as they took the Emperors title of Pontifex Maximus, leader of the church and state.
“We may according to the fullness of our power, dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. For the Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God.” (Source: “Decretals of Gregory IX,” Book 1, chapter 3.)
Pope Pius V blasphemed, “The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” (Source: Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Cities Petrus Bertanous Chapter XXVII: 218.)
Pope Leo XIII declared, “We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.” (Source: Pope Leo XIII Encyclical Letter, June 20, 1894)
The antichrist sea beast of Revelation points to the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, who controlled the Roman beast for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD.
Daniel 7:25 says “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” The Popes of Rome spoke against Elohim and proclaimed to be God. They reigned for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD. during which they caused tens of millions of saints to be killed.
The Pope’s title is Vicar of Christ, which in Latin is ‘Vicarius Filii Dei’, and equates numerically to the number 666

This world is rapidly passing away and I hope that you repent and take time to change before all out disaster occurs! Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could. If you are not a follower of Messiah I would highly recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20.
Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13 over the course of 1260+ years. Revelation 17 confirms that the beast is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God.
Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!

They reigned for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD. during which they caused tens of millions of saints to be killed.
The Pope’s title is Vicar of Christ, which in Latin is ‘Vicarius Filii Dei’, and equates numerically to the number 666

iphones have gold and sometimes sapphire in them. Industrial grade is the key to this. Industrial grade diamonds get used in more everyday items than you realize. Industrial grade meaning opaque black or off colored with awful clarity - non gem quality material

Thought this awesome. Can’t believe you got that much out of the cracks of a sidewalk. I have only been panning for about a year and a half in Iowa and go out regularly (even in winter) but haven’t even reached a gram yet. But it’s about the hunt not the value for me. It’s an awesome hobby. Keep up the great work.

Its probably more likely you pan more gold here in the city than you are out somewhere like iowa or anywhere midwest just because of the VAST amount of gold and jewelry in general that flow in and out every day, every hour on these streets.

  • Crypto Boots: My Adventures in Crypto Mining

Just watched this video and discovered your channel tonight for the first time! I realize its probably a little late to enter the contest, but I sure would like to have won. I live in Acworth, Ga and coincidentally there is a lot of panning to be done right here by the house. It would be cool for you to pan some paydirt from around here, as I'm curious just how true it is that there is gold everywhere around this area. Supposedly lots of old mine entrances, and even one or two at the bottom of Lake Allatoona, about half a mile from my house. Anyway, love the show! Cant wait to see more.

Yep, I've done plenty of gold paydirt from Georgia (Crisson gold mine) and have visited there last year and did some gold prospecting on the creeks in southern TN as well. Lived in Monteagle TN for a while so I know the area well.

My Dad used to love watching Gold Rush on Discovery for years, it was a fascinating show that he really enjoyed. One of his favorite quotes came from Jack Hoffman, who my Dad would sometimes do a fun voice impression of him, that was "You're all millionaires, you just gotta get it outta the ground!" We used to get such a kick out of him making us laugh with his funny delivery.
My Dad passed away last year of kidney failure, and I've missed him everyday since then. Your video for some reason reminded me of that quote, and brought back a lot of good memories. I bet if my Dad was still around he'd probably really enjoy your content. I myself found the concept of collecting potential paydirt from one of the most unlikeliest of places like city sidewalks rather interesting. Very cool work! Hope the prospecting journey yields you more awesome gains going forward!

The rubies and sapphire probably came from in front of the watch shop. Most mid to high end watches use a combination of ruby and sapphire in the movement. I have two 27 jewel automatics with exhibition backs where you can see them working.

Watchmaker here: rubies are the standard in any mechanical watch, and some of the better quality quartz. Most decent watches will have minimum 17 rubies AKA "jewels" (antiques often have 5 to 7, modern high-end automatics 23 to 26 or more). Those faceted rubies of yours didn't come out of a watch though, unless they were exterior decoration on the case or maybe hour markers on a dial. Horological rubies are used as the bearings in the movement eg; "clockwork" mechanism, and 99% of them will be flat discs like little micro-mini hockey pucks with a hole through the center for the wheel shafts to rotate in. Unfortunately they're usually lab/synth and not worth much, although a few of the earliest models of pocket watches used relatively large natural diamonds as balance bearings before rubies were standard.

Red stones like those are not used in watch making. Watch makers use synthetic rubies. They look like small round disks and act as bearings for rotating pivot shafts, etc. Those red stones are most likely rhodolite garnets IMO.

@Chasing Plastic I will say it took me 5 days of panning a few hours a day before I found the spot I am on with gold. So don't give up right away if you don't find anything.

There is gold in Illinois (I found some recently, but not near you), but it is glacial gold dragged down from Canada in the glaciation periods. This means it is small gold that is sparse and only concentrated in streams that cut through the glacial till.
I haven't found enough even to weigh yet, but I am sure you can find gold if you can find a stream with a hard packed bottom (like hard clay or maybe shale). I'd say since there is more gold in Wisconsin than Illinois you will probably have more luck north than I do.
I've also heard there is some gold in northwest Illinois/northeastern Iowa.

You could always try to pan out of local natural creeks and rivers in your area for fun and practice. There is a guy I watched on YT that searches creeks near St. Louis, Missouri and he has found flour gold out that way, although it is a very TINY amount for the work he puts into it, but he does find gold. Being further north, you may be able to find a tiny bit as well that was left over by glacier deposits.

These two men would get up early in the morning and would fine sweep areas where gold was traded, and areas where gold traders would wash their hands. These two men would work hard sweeping everywhere . There was dog feces all over the place ! One of the men made a comment saying that you have to look past all the dog shit. Then they would take the sweepings back and use very toxic mercury to process their findings only getting a pea size bit of gold.

My search for a reliable metal detector brought me here ... I have wanted one for a long time but tend to research the crap out of things before I commit to something. I recently retired and find the days so empty and long and my wife suggested a hobby where I could be outside ... she said gardening, I said I'm 54 and have no interest in gardening and need something that would get my adrenaline going so I chose this. Great video! Cheers ✌

This is a really cool idea. I had never thought of checking cracks in the sidewalks in busy areas especially nearby the jewelry shops. My brother has told me about doing it in parking lots near where the black dirt gathers. I'm just now getting into prospecting and panning gold so I'm rather new to it. He recommended this video and I'm glad he did

Just found this channel. Very interesting. For the diamonds, to test without a diamond tester, just get some 1000grit emery paper and scratch the top. If it grips and goes dull, then it's most likely a cubic/paste. If it slides and doesn't look like it scratched, then it's probably a moissanite and would have scratched when viewed under proper magnification. If it grips without scratching, then it's a diamond. Another easy way to see. The girdle on diamonds are usually not polished under 1,00ct. Cubics usually have polished girdles.
