Cherimoya has been spread throughout various hispanized colonies during the the Spanish colonization days. So, they can be found in other tropical climates such as the Philippines islands and parts of Mexico and Central America. I actually grew up eating them seasonally in southern California finding them in Mexican and Filipino markets. That Grenadine looked a lot like passion fruit. And that other dragon fruit (pitaya) thing IS a dragon's a nice ripe yellow version. Also, grew up eating those in SoCal. The big problem with conventional produce in America is that are harvested early before they are actually ripe and generally sprayed for preservation then transported hundreds, if not thousands of miles from different parts of the world. Therefore, when you get them, the fruits are not actually fully grown too their peak flavors. What is experienced (most of the time) is a bland flavor. Nothing pops. Just blah. That's why it's best to eat locally, seasonally and eat what the region naturally has to offer. That way you can bet you're always getting the best and what's suppose to naturally be there. I mean, that's the whole point right? Sucks if the entire world just became one big huge Walmart or Costco, right?

That chicken foot in the soup is the reason why it is so chickeny. The soup is actually prepared with that chicken foot in it to release all those flavours into the broth.
Hats off to you, by taking on all those chillies (peppers).
Aunty made this video, more awesome! She's such a sweetheart. Granadilla can be eaten with the white part, too. You just break the orange hard shell, peel it all off til you get to the stem, hold it there and eat it all in a few mouthfuls.
This is one of the best videos I've seen in RU-clip, showing the famous San Pedro market in Cusco, PERU.

Omg yes I’ve been here. It’s huge and I remember buying a drink of passion fruit and chicha morada from this lady and she gave me free refills. I felt so bad so I just ended up giving her money for being so nice but she didn’t want it and I thought she deserved it so I walked away omg.

The lady of the fruit stand is adorable, this is one of my best places to eat in Cusco. Love the fried river fish and the natural juices, totally recommended to have lunch in el Mercado even if you have the budget to go to an upscale restaurant, you will eat in those long tables with all the locals and tourists around the world and exchange experiences and tips of where to go and visit. Also, you can find a good selection and good quality cheap handicraft and souvenirs.
