How to make stress your friend | Kelly McGonigal

  • Stress. It makes your heart pound, your breathing quicken and your forehead sweat. But while stress has been made into a public health enemy, new research suggests that stress may only be bad for you if you believe that to be the case. Psychologist Kelly McGonigal urges us to see stress as a positive, and introduces us to an unsung mechanism for stress reduction: reaching out to others.

Briefly: Once we believe stress is a part of our life and it's not dangerous as we think, we follow it and our body response follow as well.

    Hi, from the UK.
I'm seeking foreign speakers to help me change the world.
Is anyone here bilingual and want to join me on this mission?
I am a biological scientist, writer, cleaner, singer and single parent.
My gift is to learn to sing and rap in other languages, which is why through learning my lyrics in many languages I am going to be the first person to evidence synchronicity with science..
    I can't do it alone.
I can exchange advertising in the acknowledgement book of the project and writing in English with anyone who can help.
    Writing must be pre arranged.
Can anyone help me with text translation of one lyric of mine for the exchange described? 🥰😊

Other: This video is another evidence of belief is a true power, a true healing effect but also a damaging effect. And it is the same in the Bible.

I think you should go a bit easier on your criticisms... sure, it's not the best quality for a presenter to have while presenting, but it's a minor one at that. Her "cotton mouth" gave a significant speech about how we, as humans, can deal with stress more effectively, yet you only include what she has done wrong.
Instead, let's be a bit nicer - you have to give it to her for getting through her presentation pretty effectively otherwise.

Summary: Only if you believe that stress is bad for your health, you would die more of stress. Stress makes you more social by releasing oxytocin. This hormone which you more compassionate and caring, and helps your heart.
Also, people who spend time caring for people are not affected badly by stress.
