Binging with Babish: Bao from Pixar's Bao

  • Published on Feb 19, 2019
  • Bao is a beautifully animated, thematically mature, subtle and nuanced portrait of the human condition - in other words, it's a Pixar production. To celebrate the Oscars this coming weekend, let's dive into the director's mom's own recipe, as we attempt to recreate a food so delicious, you'll want to raise it as your own until it tries to leave you and you eat it.

You might want to acquire some Chinese red food coloring and some yellow food coloring from an Asian grocer...... Use LOTS of sugar, red food color, yellow food color, five spice powder, ginger powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add to sliced 'pork neck' and bake in a moderate to hot oven.

Hello so someone might have already asked this, but I thought you couldn't mix cooked, and raw meat? Like what was done at 1:56 I might be wrong, but I was just curious as to if harm the meal. I love the channel, but was just curious about it

    • Rangaaraa
      Rangaaraa 7 days ago

It's only a health issue if the raw meat comes into contact with the cooked meat and then the cooked meat is served, but since he is mixing them together, then cooking it all together, then there is no problem since all the meat ends up cooked

I understand I might sound like a moron for asking this question! Regardless - you said "they freeze beautifully". Did you mean "stay in place when twisted on top" or "these can be frozen to be cooked at a later date"? I'm always looking for super easy freezer recipes and I could eat these all day easy
