My first time on a stage 4 117 and it did not dissapoint. The engine was response, fluid and and the sound coming through was amazing. The Fat Boy felt easier to manage this time round however I still stick to my first impression of the bike not being designed for carving the roads.
Anyway as always its just an opinion. Make sure tobit that thumbs up button and if you're new to the channel hit that subscribe button.

at 6000 miles, the extra extreme heat from the greater compression/HP ,
the exhaust springs will break and the valve will bend !!! guaranteed .
its happening in epidemic proportions. is Harley warranty good ??? you
will be left stranded. this kit requires a fuelling oil pump ,
titanium valves, springs also . about 8000 rpm springs as the shifting
in a stage 4 is about 6200 rpm to shift at max HP . the stage 4 kit
117cui is not reliable. every bike with this kit is in the shop broken
down. it simply does not work.

the 117 with the right cam sure makes power but way more heat in traffic, and the counter balance shafts are useless now ! the 117 vibrates lots so there goes the smooooth ride of the 114 ci !!!! keep it 114 and do as little as possible, enjoy the smooth ride and vibration free ride. the 117 stage 4 will vibrate like the old harley did

Nice city ride in style. Its a beautiful second bike. Stylish and strong. Gotta go for chain drive and barnett clutch . Get them wheels off, 200 rear and 130 front is plenty wide to rob horse power.

Harley's are fun because they're rude and rough, loud and torquey. Sport bikes are fast and can carve corners, sure, but you'll never get that feeling of a torque-driven pull. In the corners, it's more of a handful as well but that's part of the fun. You're more engaged with the bike and the experience. And at the end of the day, you can relax and enjoy the ride without your back and shoulders killing you.

For the European city roads I recommend the Softail Slim and/or the Sport Glide. But if I was living in the US, where the roads are wide and plain, I would go for the Fatboy. Although the cost of the Slim in Europe is around €21k while the other models have the same price. With the exception of the UK with a price of £16k which is equivalent to $16k in the US. Business as usual.

Great video!! Your enthusiasm just draws the audience in... Definitely agree about the handling aspect of the bike. It is designed more for laid-back straight line performance, not to say it won't cut a tight line but quick transitions are not its cup of tea. Can only imagine what it feels like for a stage IV/114 in a light chassis. My stage II /114 in my Roadglide Ultra pulls so well, Love It!!
    Thanks ...

Hi man, last 5 months I moved from Iron883 to Breakout, and if I have 1 tip to give to help you go much more aggressive and tight especially with them wide tires it will be...Countersteering!
Let me know how it works for you.
    Cheers.

Oh please man! I don't know your experience or preference, but as a performance-modded cruiser rider, (88TC with Andrews torque cams, suspension mods, Darksider, 2- over tubes, other things plus a year of tuning), I love the review except for calling bends in the road "curves" or whatnot, taking the roundabouts like a scooter rider, and in the end game, to me, I totally love this motor, but feel as though you personally aren't used to pushing cruisers to their limits, fixing the problems, and discovering the Motto of my crew; "If the Boards Ain't Sparkin', You're just Parkin'!"

    • Gary Chandler
      Gary Chandler 27 days ago

@gemini232003 I had to Darkside mine partly for the grip, partly for the extra height, put 2" over tubes and tins up front, Ricor Intimidator valves adjusted for Harley, rear shocks super tight and I still scrape my boards (with bolts welded beneath) all the time, same lean angles as a 2010 Sportster, but it was a Heritage!

    • gemini232003
      gemini232003 28 days ago +2

Yes he is not capable on a Harley. I can scrape the boards or pegs on any Harley I ride. The new softails handle better than the old, but I like the old chrome look on a Harley.

Why doesn't CVO sponsor a Fat Boy model and drop a 117 in it from production ? A stage 4 is $5K up here in Canada ! That Bike in Canada the way it sits with all the chrome accessories + 4 stage = $35K ....OUCH !!

They aren't, those are not the stock exhaust. Most HD owner's toss the stock exhaust or remove the baffles because they want and like it loud.

With your feet forward, your turns will have to be re negotiated by the rider. You can't lean this bike for it will scrape the hell out of the floor boards. After you got on the bike audio improved greatly.

  • Craig Pennington
    Craig Pennington 3 months ago

Please don't speak metric. This is H.D. speak inches - lbs. - m.p.h. And slow down. Audio way muffled and based out too. I love the Fat Boys but them damn floor boards must go. I hate them with a passion.

I know the boys a bit longer so you can use more rear brake because of the weight balance...
...but I still don’t get why they didn’t do twin front discs on the boy like they did with the bob, or at least fit a big six piston calliper on the single disc if they were trying to keep the clean look on the right side.
Harley’s brakes are so shockingly behind on pretty much every other make.

Just like my '08 Rocker, the turns take a bit of practice, using lean and handlebars, you can go through turns no problem.
