That car is like a lesser Pagani. It’s a work of quirky art. Parked outside a restaurant in town, it would be a sight for sore eyes for those whom are tired of the obnoxious Ferrari’s and Lamborghinis. It’s not a car I could see people wanting to smash the windshield out of envy and oppression. This car has a more classy presence like that of an old Jaguar, Austin Healy or Aston Martin. I would have said a TVR, which are nice cars too, but a bit more brash than comparable. The Spyker is a very decadent car, and it is too bad the polished aluminum wheel was omitted from the US spec versions. I saw a couple of these at a Lamborghini dealer when I first visited Las Vegas in 2008’. I was surprised to see Spykers there as well as a Ferrari Enzo and not one, but two Bugatti Veyrons. The dealership also had a Saleen S7; not sure if it was the turbo one as well as Koenigseggs and Paganis in the years ahead. Never saw a Spyker since. The Spyker I really liked was only a concept I think, called the C12 La Turbie; V12 Bi-Turbo I’m guessing from the Audi A12. I would prefer an AMG motor from the S65, but Pagani already had dibs on them.

One thing i can think of why you had to push the brakes so much is that the brake fluid might not have been replaced in 10 years of this cars history. Brake fluids absorb moisture from air and can become ineffective. They need to be replaced every 5 years regardless of how little the milage.

Hopefully the fast /healthy number of views for this one will convince him that he'll consider more older models in the future. 1975 AMC Pacer would be a gem

Awesome video, I had no idea of all the quirks and features, particularly the multi step ignition process and extra physical key in the glovebox! This is also only the second car I've seen-and first supercar, particularly from Holland-with an engine turned dash! The shift lever/linkage is as awesome as a gated manual, and all the machined aluminum reminds of exactly of the Pagani Huayra. I never knew the C8 used the 4.8 V10 from the R8. I've only ever seen those half open windows on one other car-the DMC12 Delorean.

A haven't thought about this car in 10 years after I saw it in a magazine called Rob Reports back when it was new in 2009. I was surprised to see one on AutoTrader for sale in Vancouver (in Canada) for $360,000. It's a 2009 Spyker with polished aluminum bodywork, it's only 1 of 2 in Canada out of the 3 in total made for our country out of the 36 cars made in total. This one has 24,306kms.
