@Lon.TV ; Thank You for Your upload and selection of some more usable and interesting items You saw at CES this year. Enjoy Your comments. They seem mostly focused upon the usability and functionality aspects.
Enjoyed seeing the ECS Liva devices are there at CES. Recently found them via searching for COM Express type equipment. The compact size mini pc You showed are impressive and as are there full range. Am interested to know how to get them.
Interesting to see Your emphasis upon Android. Though they are very popular for applications in the 'smart phone' devices, the OS is actually lacking. Chrome and other full Linux OS are much better, as Mac OSX is to iOS. They are convenient, seemingly, but as Windows PPC was lacking too, so are these and will go by the 'way side' in the near future too.

Driver less cars should not be used in general population. There are way too many variables that can cause disasters. Between weather, failing infrastructure, emergency vehicles, and the maintenance and protection of traffic for construction projects, such vehicles should not be used without human control.
If you want to construct a completely separate right of way (ROW) and/or use a closed course for a large sprawling campus (research, education, industry, military) then fine. Otherwise it is a dead end from a liability perspective.

When will small form factor Lakefield PC's be coming in? Sometime this year? Ironically, out of all the stuff at CES, I found Lakefield to be one of the most interesting things.

    • John Smith
      John Smith 5 months ago

@Lon.TV Maybe I'm getting things a bit mixed up. I'm not sure Lakefield is the same as Icelake Y series, but I heard that Icelake Y on 10 nm, could have 2.8 X the graphical performance, which has me a bit excited. These are all just code names without systems right now, so it is a little confusing.

It's funny I didn't see any exhibited, a lot of times it takes awhile for PC makers to get something put together. This year I didn't have as much time to run through the show floor as I did in previous years otherwise I would have spent a little more time at Intel's booth.

I had one of those Clazio Android speakers from years ago, the MA-407 and although the idea is cool the implementation was really awful, too slow to be useful, the screen was crap, sound was crap and so was the microphone. I can tell from the demo you did with the newer models that they still haven't got it right.

At least 1 person is covering products that aren't 8K TVs, graphics cards and laptops that will probably be constantly throttling due to heat. This has been the most 'meh' CES as far as "Boy I've got to have that!!!" in years. Thanks. I do think sometimes you have a blind spot for Apple, but do appreciate the effort you put in on products most tech youtubers never get around to.

I recently sold my original Sega Nomad. Never used it, and never really liked it because it was bulky to hold, had a washed out screen, and most of the games just didn't scale down well to a small screen size. I bet there are Genesis fans that missed out on the Nomad back in the day and might want to grab one now if the price is cheap enough. I know I'll be picking up some of those Genesis and Saturn pads to replace my 20-30 year old worn out controllers I have. Those mini laptops look good too.
That comment about your nails reminded me of the manhands episode of Seinfeld :D
