Fatty Liver Disease Causes: 4 Ways to Fix It- Thomas DeLauer…
What is Fatty Liver Disease? Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a term used for a wide range of liver conditions that can affect people who drink very little to no alcohol. Fatty liver can also occur from excess alcohol consumption, but here we will concentrate on NAFLD. NAFLD occurs when an excess buildup of fat in the liver occurs, known as steatosis. Once fat exceeds 5-10% of the liver’s weight, the liver is considered to be a fatty liver. This occurs when the rate of de novo fatty acid synthesis and hepatic fatty acid uptake from plasma is greater than the rate of fatty acid oxidation and export - ie, too much fat is being created and not enough is being metabolized. Liver inflammation is characteristic is nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, one of the more advanced forms of the disease, that can eventually lead to scarring. This damage to the liver is similar to that caused by heavy alcohol use and can progress to liver cancer and cirrhosis (3).
Causes: The exact cause isn’t known, however NAFLD is most common among those in their 40s and 50s who have metabolic syndrome, a cluster of risk factors that raise your chances of a wide range of diseases, including cardiovascular disease and type-2 diabetes. (1)
Metabolic syndrome includes the following risk factors (2):
    Midsection fat accumulation
    High triglyceride level
    Low HDL cholesterol level
    High blood pressure
    High fasting blood sugar levels
The majority of these risk factors are tied to obesity, so helping to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight is crucial.
What Can You do to Combat Fatty Liver Disease? Currently there are no definitive treatments for fatty liver disease, so treatment is focused on lifestyle changes (3).
    1. Cut out drinking
    2. Cut out the fruit!
Fructose is absorbed via portal vein and delivered to the liver in much higher concentrations as compared to other tissues. Fructose increases protein levels of all DNL enzymes during its conversion into triglycerides. Additionally, fructose supports lipogenesis in the setting of insulin resistance as fructose does not require insulin for its metabolism, and it directly stimulates SREBP1c, a major transcriptional regulator of DNL
    De-Novo lipogenesis
    3. Boost Glutathione Levels- Glutathione is needed in order to recover from a fatty liver. Eat things like eggs, cabbage, broccoli and garlic as they have a higher sulfur content which can help convert into Acetyl Cysteine and create more glutathione in the body.
    4. Turmeric- Turmeric is a spice whose use as medicine date back thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine. Curcuminoids are the compounds in turmeric that give the distinct yellow color and are largely credited with the impressive therapeutic benefits of turmeric. Turmeric is both a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant spice, and it is likely these aspects of turmeric that make it especially helpful for those with NAFLD.
Study (7) A randomized double-blind placebo controlled trial took patients suffering from NAFLD and broke them into two groups. One group took 70-mg curcumin once daily for 8 weeks while the other group did the same with a placebo. Multiple measures were taken at baseline and then following the 8 weeks of treatment. It was found that those in the curcumin group experienced a significant reduction in liver fat content when compared to the placebo group - on average the curcumin participants experienced a 78.9% improvement in liver fat content! Additional significant reductions occurred in body mass index, serum total cholesterol levels, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood glucose when compared to the placebo group.

Hmmmm. I have been eating very low/carb for 15 yrs, and on a “Keto” diet long before it was trendy - “healthy” fats and lots of veggies. As a result of too much fat (avacados, nuts, grass fed dairy and protein - for the most part), I now have NAFLD. Over time, “Keto” May cause weight gain! Everyone, even non-diabetics do need to drastically eliminate simple carbs, reduce overall carbohydrate intake, and just eat sensible.

yes being fruitarian for years caused me to have a fatty greatly enlarged liver and heart pains, could only sleep on the right side. thanks for the awareness.
One question though. green leafy veg, cruciferous veg and herbs are especially high in oxalates. these can cause great damage. i quote: turmeric is high in soluble oxalates which can bind to calcium and form insoluble calcium oxalate, which is responsible for approximately 75% of all kidney stones

Hi Thomas. I've been on the keto lifestyle for 10 months. I've lost 50+ lbs, no longer prediabetic, gone off meds, more energy, etc. I have about 20 lbs to go. Anyway, my annual blood work shows one of my liver tests is 1 point above normal. My doc wants me to quit keto. I won't. But why would that be if I'm so much healthier. It was normal before keto. I do not drink either. Thanks!

Right, I watch this Keto Guru because I AM interested in learning all I can about Ketosis and reversing T2 Diabetes, fatty liver, and all the fun stuff that goes along with it. I did not do a search for “Fruit Lovers” to get to this site.If I was into that I wouldn’t even waste my time on these videos. My time is too precious to waste on that. The thing is, I AM a “Recovering Carb Addict.” I admit it! I would love nothing more then to have a bowl of strawberries. But if I do my blood sugar sky rockets, and now that I’m on that lovely Metformin (which isn’t working by the way), I get sicker then a dog! If I eat bread, brown rice or quinoa, which i love, it takes days to get the blood sugar to stabilize. And get this, I got this way from trying to be healthy and following a low calorie, high protein nationally recognized health plan for years. I bought the shakes, which consisted of fructose along with whey protein, decreased work so I could increase hours at the gym, and paid A LOT of money to kill my health. I hope that it is not too late to save my liver, I pray that in a year this will be all reversed...
    (My apologies Mr DeLauren)

I WANT TO USE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SAY A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO DR Ken My name is Anita Jackson i am so happy to share this testimony on how Dr.Ken healed me from genital herpes. i was detected with genital herpes around 4th may 2015, and ever since that day i have been looking for a way to end this virus from my body, but the more i try, the more i was told there was no solution. Few months ago i saw a testimony of some people on how Dr.Ken cure them from HERPES VIRUS, i also heard about it on media when a young lady also gave her testimony saying Dr.Ken cured her oral herpes. I was left with no other hope than to contact Dr.Ken and give him a try. I contacted him and told him what i was going through. He said he could heal me, that he is going to send me a herbal medicine which i should pay for.I did as he requested, and He sent the medicine as he promised. I took this herbal medicine for 1 week and it was obvious that his medicine was for real, because the herpes started clearing from my body. Later at the 2 week, i went for medical check up and i was surprised when my doctor told me he found no trace of the virus in me again. At first when he told me, i was so shock and still did not believed until he gave me my test result. to make my story short i am now free from herpes, after many months of sorrow and my sickness is gone, i thank God for leading me to this man, and i want to also lead you to him if you have any illness like HIV, HPV, hepatitis B, asthma, cancer, Diabetes, COLD SCORE,TOOTH ACHE and FIBROID. You can email him on Dr.kenherbalcenter@gmail.com or whats-app him on +2348147483812

Tumeric can thin blood and may change female menstrual cycles. As I've gone thru menopause, It scared me! After consuming a cup of tumeric tea daily, for only 2 days, I started bleeding as if I was having a full on period! Stopped using it and I'm back to normal.
Take care when you listen to advice on YT! Consuming herbs and spices new to your diet can cause dramatic effects to your body and conflict with Rx drugs! Do your research BEFORE you jump into new regimens!

Just for a period of time while going through a divorce. So, I highly doubt carbs or fruit are the causes of fatty liver disease.

I don’t agree fruit is bad. Beetroot has fructose and glucose and is good for the liver
Beets mainly consist of water (87%), carbs (8%), and fiber (2-3%).
One cup (136 grams) of boiled beetroot contains fewer than 60 calories, while 3/4 cup (100 grams) of raw beets boasts the following nutrients (1 Trusted Source):
    Calories: 43
    Water: 88%
    Protein: 1.6 grams
    Carbs: 9.6 grams
    Sugar: 6.8 grams
    Fiber: 2.8 grams
    Fat: 0.2 grams
    Carbs
Raw or cooked beetroot offers about 8-10% carbs.
Simple sugars - such as glucose and fructose - make up 70% and 80% of the carbs in raw and cooked beetroots, respectively.
Beetroots are also a source of fructans - short-chain carbs classified as FODMAPs. Some people cannot digest FODMAPs, causing unpleasant digestive symptoms.
Beetroots have a glycemic index (GI) score of 61, which is considered medium. The GI is a measure of how fast blood sugar levels rise after a meal (2).
On the other hand, the glycemic load of beetroots is only 5, which is very low.
This means that beetroots should not have a major effect on blood sugar levels because the total carb amount in each serving is low.

Hey doc you in have to account for what happened to me, Which was I was diabetic and I use the ketogenic diet To control my diabetes but I never lost any fat from my belly. Then I was told to try something new which was to eat potatoes without anything . I did that for 2 weeks I lost my belly fat a couple months later But in the 1st 2 weeks my diabetes was gone. Then I saw a bunch of testimonials saying the same thing I stayed on this diet I've lost 50 pounds I've been from 220 down to 180 OK that's 40 pounds, But I still feel that this concept has to be accounted for we cannot just Dismiss it. And hope that nobody talks about this or brings this up. I Look Further into this. I'm running into a very interesting idea that the cause for a fatty liver and all metabolic disorders is vegetable oils. Specially if their hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated of course if oxydated that's also truly problematic for heart disease and I'm sure many other things like brain function. I never felt better in my whole life Im only eating potatoes ,tomatoes, whole onions whole but in separate meals I'm basically eating single foods. This is resetting my taste buds I'm starting to really enjoy the taste of simple foods. Obviously this seems very harsh to most people this is not a diet that's curing people from diabetes or metabolic disorders I think its the lack of vegetable oils. thing I forgot to mention I'm also not eating any animal products I'm not saying they're bad I'm just saying I'm not Eating them. So there is no fat coming from any source. I will Re introduce some butter or animal Into my diet to see if there is any change in my improvements Obviously any refined foods Are bad. But I think starches are not badd I mean whole starches. When eaten in the absence of fat. It is possible that these 2 foods fat and starches by themselves are harmless. But when mixed together on a daily basis are harmful. Again this seems to be my experience of to now. And thousands and thousands if not hundreds of thousands Of other people's experience also. I think the ketogenic diet has Has so many benefitsBecause it is being consumed in the absence of vegetable oils and carbs. perhaps not because there is something inherently specifically beneficial to eating only animal fat and animal products. Because we have to account for the opposite diet which is whole carbs not processed carbs but whole carbs such as potatoes rice and other complex carbs when they're eaten in absence of fat and animal products They're are even more beneficial and cure diabetes Very quickly and reverse heart disease and so Fourth. Now to the same diet of whole carbs you add fat specifically vegetable fat which is actually , Seed oils. Which are not fit for human consumption Watch this no oil vegan Become afflicted with the same diseases like everybody else. This is been my conclusion after 5 years of trying every diet. Please try not to demonize potatoes because the problem is not potatoes or foods such as potatoes. The cause of all the metabolic disorders is vegetable oils and eating food outside in restaurants mistake vocationally in some cases I need other cases all the time file it your body and your liver with hydrogenated fats The pre requisite for all metabolic disorders is probably a fatty liver I'm sure we all suffering from some degree of a fatty liver syndrome because we all eat in restaurants. Heck some of us eat at home And still cook With vegetable oils. It is the vegetable oils that stick to you on the inside your body . So I think I can honestly say I have stumbled upon the cure for diabetes , And it is the dumbest stupidest solution Stop consuming vegetable oils. I know this doesn't make any Money for the diet pushers. But this diet is easier said than Done.

This video will save many peoples lives. I will share it and it's information. I am uncertain what inflammation actually is. A video explaining it would help me, for sure. Also, How do we understand various 'pathways' . Could one be 'deconstructed' for explanation-sake ? You are a clear and understandable speaker who exemplifies the health practices he promotes. I thank you and wish you and yours the best. Bonnie
