If a jumper battery is under 16 volts when fully charged, it means that there is something wrong with a battery cell.

  • Dasdfjkl
    Dasdfjkl 22 hours ago

I have a Trekpow G22 and it peaks at about 1100 amps for about 4 seconds, staying above 1000 amps before turning off. It goes to 75% after three load tests. I used a HF load tester so accuracy isn't spot on, but the jumper has a lot of juice. $89.
After using a jumper battery you have to charge it right away, after it cools and periodically charge it about once every 4 to 6 months.

Posted on the Audew.com website. Thanks to Project Farm Channel The Audew Jumpstarter is very popular and almost sold out. Starting Nov. 12, 2019 if you purchase the product at the price of $84.99 you need to wait 35-45 days processing time. "As of today 12/10/2019 the price is still at $84.99"

I think both his HF and gb40 were defective. Makes me think QC isn't good on the cells the Chinese companies use.

I'm unable to find the Audew on Amazon. The manual you showed stated 20,000mAh. The only Audew on Amazon looks different and rated for only 10,800mAh. I have two Noco GB40 and I agree that the cloth bag for this price point is unacceptable. I found it discharged several times before i found a padded case that would fit.

Can you teach the news reporters to give unbiased opinion and fact based information? :) Thanks for doing the testing and reporting that you do. There are some items where personal preference (opinion) is also important but you've always mentioned that it is "your" opinion. Wish the news reporters and news media would learn how to do that! I've sent this link off to my uncle who was impressed when a neighbor got his Kawasaki Mule started from such a compact device. I sent this to him so he can see for himself what the differences are and which would fit his needs best. Thanks again.

I keep one of these in my 04 Suburban. It helped my wife start the 5.3ltr from a totally dead battery at an airport one cold night. I walked her through it over the phone. I've used it twice. This instance and once for my 450cc Foreman ATV. Worked like a charm. The model I used is a DBPOWER 800A Peak 18000mAh Portable Car Jump Starter. Amazon $80

Great video, as always. It'd be nice if you did a follow-up test on durability and lifespan, as lithium ion batteries can't handle discharges well... Shortens their life a little bit each time. I suspect they wouldn't last as many discharge cycles as the other types.

I'm confused about the peak amps. They state numbers like 2000 or 1500 peak amps but the tests show all of them maxing out between 200 and 300 amps. Are the peak numbers false claims or do they mean something else?

Sad to see how poorly the Noco performs. I have one of the large capacity genius boost jumpers and it works well. Seems like their products are over-hyped and over priced.

Your results with the harbor Freight one are exactly what I had experienced.
I used mine a few times to crank over a motorcycle and it worked okay for that.
Any time did you use it it seems to drain down very quickly and often you have to plug it back into the charger to get the thing to reset.
I definitely appreciate the testing you did the Audew model seems great.
I know you did not like the supercapacitor but one advantage to that is that you don't have to worry about the battery is discharging in your trunk when you're not using it.
It also should have almost an indefinite lifespan.
whereas the Lithium polymer batteries in a lot of these jump starters have questionable lifespans especially being made in China you don't know the quality of those battery packs.
And of course they will inevitably fail when you need them.
whereas that capacitor pack while certainly less practical and convenient to use is probably more reliable in the actual emergency.
although it only cranks for a very short time so it would only be useful at a situation where you left your lights on and the battery is low but there's nothing actually wrong with the vehicle itself.

Thanks for the review. But, Audew's quality control and customer service SUCKS! I purchased two packs. One is defective. They require video proof to return or replace. It takes them two weeks to ask for video then another two weeks to claim they did not get the video. I am not waiting another two weeks to get blown off again and loose my charge back rights.

I wish I had ordered through Amazon. The would have been handled a long time ago. At least amazon forces the merchants to be responsible.

I have bought the Noco GB70 (2000A).. the first one I got was bad, and battery eventually expanded, then, the replacement one was amazing, and I rarely find myself having to actually recharge the device after several uses.. I wonder if you just got a bad one.. too bad, as I have found the build quality to be nice and less gimmicky.

I’d like to ask where you were able to purchase the Audew jump starter. After watching this video, I went on to the Audew website and ordered the same jump starter as is in this video. I ordered and paid for it on Nov 22. It was supposed to be delivered within a week. Apparently the company who makes this is called ‘Sun Chei’ (or something like that - I don’t have the info in front of me). For the past 2+ weeks, the website indicates that they are ‘processing’ my order. They do not answer any emails, or give any further updates. I understand that the order may have been delayed because of Thanksgiving, but would have liked some feedback from them. I’m wondering if you had the same issue with them, or if you were able to purchase this item through another distributor....????

I have a project which will be finished in a few days. I got a blower engine, & fitted a car alternator to it. All it needs is a primer, & fuel hose. Once finished, all I need to do is start it, then connect to battery, switch on power, & it will do the rest. Wait 2 minutes, then start the car.

Jim Short with all the ."imports" from all over and a unit putting out (supposedly) thousands of amps. I’ll go with UL approved as my minimum 🤪

    • Jim Short
      Jim Short 4 days ago

dumolebob ... while UL is really the only testing accreditation we have, it still has many shortcomings. I have seen plenty of absolute crap that has a UL listing. I would say it’s nice to have the UL listing as a minimum but I would still do extra research on things of importance or high value.
