Members of the Walton Family have, and still do own the controlling interest in the world's largest retailer... Its main supplier China, owns a large percentage of WM stock as well... Whenever too much legislation that limits what WM can do is introduced, the Walton Family has been rumored to threaten the government that they will sell their interests to China, thus giving the Chinese total control of the company... The Waltons certainly don't care... They already have more money than they can count, so it's no big loss to them at all... Therefore I say, "Go ahead...Make good your threat and deed" It doesn't matter to me, because the day I walk into a Walmart, turn and see a picture of Chairman Mao hanging above the entrance - is the LAST day I'm in a WM!

People should also know that, no matter what you buy at Walmart, you can pretty much return anything if you scream loud enough at the Customer Service.
I currently work at my local Walmart for a bit over 9 years now (sadly). The recent return policy that was updated as of January 1, 2018, is that you need to have a receipt to make a refund or exchange. Without that, you can't even get the a gift card (which is how all Walmarts are supposed to be).
However, the return policy is bullshit because even though us CSMs (Customer Service Managers) tell the customers that without a receipt , they cannot get a refund or exchange, yet when they want to talk to an assistant manager, or a store manager, they do so, and the fucking managers give them the damn refund! What the hell is the point of having a return policy if they aren't going to follow the fucking policy!

I worked at Wal-Mart, if you skipped a break you got in trouble. If you work for more than 6 hours without clocking out for lunch the cash register locks you and makes you take a lunch. I got a package for a class action, but I couldn't participate, because I never once was forced to skip a break, it was quite the opposite. That being said, I got fire for not carding an 80 year old women who bought cigarettes for me every night, whose birthday I had memorized, and who once left her ID in the car. They treat their employees like numbers.

For #2: I had my foot run over by a hover-round cart in the soda and bottled water aisle of my local Wal-Mart, resulting in several torn tendons and dislocations in my foot and ankle. They refused to call an ambulance for me and made me limp the entire way through the store, and out the front door, screaming in pain, before I could call an EMT. I had to be in a supportive boot for 8 weeks, but because another customer was responsible, I couldn't do anything legally. The only positive was that injury lead to me being diagnosed with a connective tissue disorder... Still messed up though...

Although - reading the comments - I can totally see how walmart is a pretty good place to work, but over here in north carolina, this video makes a lot of sense. would totally explain why the customer service is virtually nonexistent, and additionally, to get a $1.25 refund from the frequently broken soda machine you have to wait about 30 minutes in the customer service line I can say this with confidence because its happened to me twice and I will never buy a soda from their soda machines again.. fool me twice....

I have worked at Walmart for over 3 years and I've worked hard every day, the way I've been treated and the way I've seen other people treated is absolutely insane. Here are a few examples: I worked my way up to Department Manager after working hard for years, as a "Department Manager" I made only 12 dollars an hour. In contrast Costco pays Department Managers more than 50k per year. So as a Department Manager the requirements they set for me were literally physically impossible, one time after I had went on my weekend and came back Monday Morning there was a pallet of unworked freight.. I was pulled to the back and coached because the stockers didn't stock on my days off. Their reasoning was "they should be stocking whether you're here or not." A coaching prevents me from transferring, promoting, changing positions, or requesting days off.. for an entire year. I voluntarily stepped down and was sent back to Overnight Stocking.. I have received no benefits and no discount because of my coaching, I have a feeling that when the time for raises come, I won't get a raise either. All because of an impossible standard, totally out of my control. I've done literally nothing but work my ass off for that place and they've fucked me over every single time, I HATE it and I can't believe that I've stood up for Walmart on multiple occasions. I really hope I can find another full time job soon.
I'd like to mention that when I was a Department Manager I got somewhat of an inside view of how they operate, one of the things my boss always told me was NEVER to appreciate the work of an associate, never thank them, but to always push for more. He said "If they work hard and they get 1 pallet done, that's good that's alot of work but don't tell them that, say that's not good enough, say no we need 2 pallets, 3 pallets, 4 pallets or it's gonna effect your job." When my associates complained to me about not having any hours I brought it up with my manager and he told me that people are not part of the equation, the company doesn't care about their little "sob stories" and that all that matters is profit, and that if I want them to have more hours then my department needs to get higher sales.. but when I attempted to change counts or manually order product because the shelves were empty I would get in huge trouble because that's doing my job and it's a "waste of the companies money". I think a good example of Walmart is trying to put a yacht in a puddle of water, they want to operate with as little as possible, as few wages, staffing, and hours as possible but make as much profit as possible.. One day we had a meeting with the market team (hot shot guys that run whole regions of stores) talking about retention, all of the other Department Managers said "Oh everyone loves working here, no complaints from anyone :)" and I thought it was strange, so I gave my truthful feedback about wages and hours etc.. And I was pulled back and written up after the meeting for "complaining in an open forum" when they had personally asked what the complaints of our associates were and what we should do to retain people, it's like this massive smokescreen of corruption trying to appear open and fair.

Cheap? lol Do you know that for every item that you order on line, you have to pay 25% of what you paid. Only 2 items are allowed of return bought in store; if you have a 3d item, they take 25 % of what you paid for too. Mmmmmmm Good ol boys was left with a fortune and all of you all are SUCKERS. That's how I learned about it. I WAS A FUCKING SUCKER! You don't always get to pick it up in the store. You are lied to on the phone. Heeeeeeeeee Heeeeeeeeeee Get me once but not again. Oh by the way, the fresh produce is in the front and if you want a guy to get something off the top shelf in NC, you'll hear is a lot of GRUNTING "do I have to mama"? You have to hire me; law doesn't say I have to work, just be a different color. I seen a BIG Black manager slap a little employee on the ass cause he can get by with it. PIG.
