I can’t believe my teacher is gone. Living Buddha living Christ changed my life. I met him through his books 30 years ago and I’m grateful for his help in my life.

He is physically gone but he is always with us when we think of him, or when we practice his teaching: loving, kindness, compassion, understanding and forgiving . He is present right at this moment while I am typing . I treasure Thầy and keep him dearly in my ❤️.
The grief I feel from Thay's death, along with his amazing teachings (such as this one), has filled me with a kind of gratitude that is so full and vibrant and alive in my body. I am sad, but I am reminded with my breathing and with my steps that I am breathing with Thay, I am walking with Thay. This is a sacred time and this is my practice. I am also breathing and walking with all of you.
His wisdom, his peaceful soul shall live forever , as a being that has anxiety he thought me how to not live inside my head he taught me to look at so many things in another light from a place of peace and stillness . Live on Buddha

So grateful that I was able to discover his teachings in my lifetime. We are all blessed.
I cannot agree with you more. I feel grounded and calm whenever I listen to him. I can let go more and live in here and now. I'm forever grateful to him and also the plum village, a place where I can find refuge and comfort.

"Love and Mercy Community that embraces the flames of anger" was the world he and Rev. Martin Luther King were aiming for.

Thay is now a formless, super conscious, energy field.
While he could become a Buddha and be absorbed into Nirvana, I hope he chooses to reincarnate back into this physical reality so he could continue helping humanity with his wisdom.
But, that is up to him. He certainly deserve a break from our screwed up world!

Thich Nhat Hanh was present in Vietnam during that time. He and his fellow monks were not choosing sides during the conflict and this put them in danger, some used self-immolation as a form of protest, like the monk you see on the cover of that album.
Thich Nhat Hanh came to America teach Americans loving kindness during the war, after being invited to speak at a college here. While here his temple was attacked and many of his friends were killed- he was exiled for 40 years and viewed as a traitor by the Vietnamese government for coming to the US.
Martin Luther King Jr actually nominated him for a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts towards ending the war in Vietnam.
He ultimately found refuge in France and founded Plum Village where this and many of his other teachings were given. He was welcomed home to Vietnam a few years ago after his health began to decline, and he died in at the site of his home temple, where he left during the war.
As a fan of Rage against the machine, I just thought I’d tell you a little bit about my teacher.
