I physically can't eat spicy food so I couldn't do the spicy challenges ^^; even smelling a chili makes me want to vomit and I can't even eat spicy chips or cheetos so I'm more or less scared of these things, I'll just stick with sugar and savory food

So 9 out of 10 of these "challenges" are in the US and basically food with just so much capsaicin you won't feel any flavors for months after eating there and one in England which is just going for sheer size of the meal. Surprised that the size thing isn't in one of those endless American restaurants with outrageous food challenges...

you forgot something. Fugu, the stuff isn't the same kind of challenge. If not properly caught, and cleaned, you can die since the meat can be contaminated by a very powerful neurotoxin. A few drops and you die no antidote. If immediately hospitalized you might survive with supportive care

All of those "hottest stuff in the world" is wimpy.
If you ever want to really sear your insides, come to Wanne-Eickel, Germany, and visit "Die Currywurst".
Yeah, yeah, I know, usually Germans really suck at spicy, but this stuff is insane.

You can get some mild sausage with a mere 10 000 scoville, and if you sign a waiver, bla bla bla, you can go up to 16 000 000 scoville in one sitting.
Happy dying trying that. Throwing up soon after consuming it is a regular effect thanks to the insane spicyness.

Actually the Hell Fire challenge isn't a big challenge.
The restaurant cheated when Man VS Food came to the place in order to get more publicity.
The Host even mentions it on his "Hot Ones featuring episode"
He actually almost had to be hospitalized because of the dangerous amount of hot mix they threw into the wings.

  • Kara Karin Stearns

Funny thing about so many of these places where they base heat on food is that people that come from a country where spicy food is normal, the would kill it, every time! You get these guys and women that eat cheeseburgers and hot dogs or some "spicy" chili on occasion, thinking they can handle the heat and they can't lol They think that just because they handle heat in food better out of all of their friends that they can handle these challenges but nope. Spicy food to that degree takes years of practice or years of tolerance to do it.

  • Kara Karin Stearns
Kara Karin Stearns 3 months ago

Apparently that hellfire wing thing that Adam did was bullshit. The cook put MORE shit in his wings than the regular hellfire order hoping that he wouldn't do it. He made it even spicier than the original without telling ANYONE even his cooks! That's total bullshit and they should be shutdown for that. He totally played the Man VS Food show to try and gain some publicity to a point that was bad for Adams health and the owner kept it to himself. Super fucked up!

I once did a challange where I had to eat a 3 pound chimichaga with jalapeños and hambeneros. They were chopped and put inside, then the whole chimichaga was drenched in they're sissy sauce which was they're blend of every hot pepper and ghost pepper extract, and topped with cheese. But that's not all they had 3 tacos of your choice of meat I did carnitas for all three 1 taco had a jalapeño, 2nd a serano, and the 3rd a red pepper. AND that's not all they made a guac that was delicious but had chopped ghost pepper in and that had to be eaten as well so I put some on my tacos and ate the rest with my wife's flour chips. There is no time limit you just gotta finish. So when I had finished my lips were purple and plumped, my face was sweaty and my mouth was in hell. The owner came up to congratulate me and said "Im actually amazed you were able to finish that. That was a lot of spicy on a lot of food simply amazing". Then my wife chimes in "I'm not surprised at all" and the owner response "why's that" then my wife replies "well if you were married to someone who is as stubborn as he is, you'll be surprised how far he'll go to prove something" I never been so proud of myself for hearing my wife say such a gracious thing about me lmao.
