Pacquiao HUGE knockdown | Thurman bloody nose | Pacquiao vs. Thurman Highlights

  • Published on Jul 21, 2019
  • Nearly a quarter-century into his legendary career, Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao isn't done thrilling fans and winning world titles.
    Far from it.
The 40-year-old Pacquiao out-dueled unbeaten champion Keith Thurman over 12 all-action rounds on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena to capture the WBA title in a thrilling split decision. The instant classic saw two judges score the fight 115-112 for Pacquiao while the third had it 114-113 for Thurman. CBS Sports also scored it 114-113 for Thurman.
Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KOs) recorded a knockdown in the opening round on a beautiful right hook that proved to be the difference as it helped him steal Round 1 and edge out Thurman (29-1, 22 KOs) in a fight-of-the-year contender that saw both fighters compete at an insane pace.
Despite the one-sided bad blood between them coming in and Pacquiao, boxing's only eight-division world champion, vowing to make Thurman pay for saying he would retire and crucify him, both fighters showed tremendous respect for each other after the fight.
"I'm not the kind of boxer to be a talker, just promoting the fight," Pacquiao said. "I think we did a lot off things [to promote the fight]. He did his best, and I did my best to make the people happy."

Just a reminder, Pacquiao, at 40, beat a young, undefeated world champion in his prime.
Mayweather, at 40, beat someone who wasn't even a boxer.

Mayweather boring just boring love to watch and be satisfied paying to watch Boxing two warriors fighting toe to toe let the best stand last. Imagining watching desame style of Boxing just to master defences it is like watching Boxing 2 fighters running around without a punches to each other and just watching track and field 100 meter dash and wait til end 12 rounds who is running the fastest 100 miles/ hour. And the winner of Boxing is a person who did not get any of one punch/ round.

Manny and Mayweather only fought once. It doesn't mean Mayweather is the better boxer. This is what I'm saying: Sugar Ray Lewis lost to Roberto Duran when they first met, but Sugar Ray Lewis won the following two matches. Joe Fraizer beat Ali when they first met and then Ali beat Joe in the following two matches. Even with Manny he lost to Erik Morales and beat him the following two matches. Since Mayweather ran so much and it is actually rare for boxers to run as much as Mayweather that the sample size is too small to see who is better. Mayweather is a ducker and most boxers don't duck because they get call out for it. Just like Canleo and GGG. People were calling out Canelo ducking GGG and Canelo stepped up.

Snyper gaming : Drug problems don’t stem from a culture or race. You want to blame white ppl for drugs in your community. How about gang violence and drug pushers and pimps. Did the WHITE MAN bring that to your community . Stop pointing fingers and START BEING ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS. Shifting the blame to the WHITE MAN makes you sounds racist and ignorant.

I agree Thurman is a legit boxer. He is ranked four after Crawford, Spence, and Manny. He also beat Danny Garcia and Porter. That is legit.Thurman should box Crawford and Spence in the future. Spence and Crawford should box. They are in the same weight class and they are both on the p4p list. Now that's the boxing match of the decade.

At this fight Keith show his strength and skill + the fighter that don't give up so did 40 years old Manny What i learn from Manny : 1) time don't stop, work and get the best out of it . 2) you can not take what you own to the heaven , share it and your happiness with others . That make this man a legend and best fiends with many peoples even his opponents after match .

Keith Thurman should retire. His boxing career is over. Y? 1. He can't fight nomore physically period. He can certainly try but his old injuries won't let him go. U c, none of his power punches carried much of power, esp. his rite over hand punch. He got Manny with his so called "one time" rite over hand punch but didn't bother Manny much at all. Instead of hurting Manny, he hurt himself. He gotta injured rite hand from this fight. 2. His left hook didn't carry much power either... He did land a few good ones on Manny too but didn't have no effect. Keith also landed that same left hook on Lopez, he went down momentarily, got quick n fought like nothing happens b/c it didn't carry much power. 3. His car accident neck injury also still has some effect on him physically as well. Neck injury will cause an overall muscle tightness on his upper body which will fawk up his performance. U c, Keith was slower and less accurate than a 40 y.o. Manny b/c all of his previous injuries still affect him physically. The injury of his left hand fawked up its power. His rite eblow injury fawked up its power on that over hand punch, and his neck injury fawked up his overall speed n accuracy. Now his rite hand is also all fawked up too from this fight. This fight probably caused a major flare up on all of his old injuries. Plus, the new injuries he suffered on his mouth, nose, n rite hand. So with the compound effect of all of his injuries, he can't physically fight nomore. If he continues fighting, he will get more hurt, lose more fights=bad record=decreasing stock. If he retires now, he is still healthy, good record n his overall, his stock is still high... just my opinion!!

  • Art Asayada
    Art Asayada 2 months ago

1st round = 10 (Pac) -8(Thurman). This was the difference in scores. Thurman was hurt in the 10th as well as Pacquiao and Pacquiao's knees buckled in the 7th round by a right hand. Pacquiao didn't show it . Watch the fight again. Again, 1st round was the difference (2 points).

it was Thurman's body language, especially after the body shot in the 10th round that he was running away from Pacman..and through out the fight Manny was obviously in control of the fight, even when he got hit by Thurman..showing he could take Thurman's punches. Shouldn't have been a split decision. But big respect for Thurman for fighting a CLEAN fight and for being man enough to accept his lost!
