"Pre (European) history" Africans were there for several centuries via Atlantic and Brazilian ocean currents before Asians crossed the northern ice bridges after the last ice age.
Africans with already established architecture and agriculture knowledge came to the "new world" and just adapted what they already knew about hot weather survival into the new circumstances.
Or aliens. Whichever narratives makes white people feel less triggered.

Maybe the embankments are for holding water for a reflection pond. Stargazing with nature's oldest mirror. Naturally we are all curious about the stars and what they mean, many early religions looked at the stars as gods. They created calendars and maps. I don't think that it's so hard to beleive that people all over the world shared this fascination.

Corey Dopp he’s actually extremely versed in many subjects and clearly states when he isn’t an expert and he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, go hate on Logan Paul or something weeb

      Dylan Grove 3 days ago

Corey Dopp that’s not really true at all, you must’ve never watched a full episode and just watched highlights and now spew ur bullshit trying to get other people to agree with you 🤔

    • Corey Dopp
Corey Dopp 3 days ago +1

Lol yeah. Hes usually interrupting everyone, getting mad at Jamie, and if someone interrupts him, he gets mad lmao. I think one of the reason he does shut up and not interrupt guests like this is because he really doesnt know anything about the subject so he has nothing to interrupt with, AND not knowing anything about said subject, he is trying to absorb the knowledge and learn a little bit. Rogan is a pretty good podcast host though I think.

Massive cities where technology was tier 1 for the times, but yet, when we find natives, they are in the stone age? I whole heartedly believe that there's numerous things to discover in the Amazon... but this guy really sounds too excited. He wants to play up every single detail and blow it out of proportion. It's hard to believe that the nasty European cities could last through several epidemics, but not a single city from the Amazon could.

    • Hayden Cook
      Hayden Cook Day ago

@gabriel hunt I'd be pretty arrogant to say that I know the secrets of the Amazon...but to me this just sounds like a guy who's very excited and escalates everything he's finding.

I do not care how many 'pieces of paper' this academic has to his credit, he is full of 'book learned billshit'. Too many examples to list, but to begin with his 'assertion' that there were once several cities with over 20 millions of people living there is total crap compared to previous history. Also to say that rainforest soil is 'infertile poor quality for growing', is more bullshit. If that is true, how come it grows trees hundreds of feet tall and so dense it is near impossible to get through. Not to mention the tremendous diversity of animal and insect life. If the soil is so poor, they are they clearing the forest at alarming rates to grow all kinds of food crops ? This 'so called expert' is merely another academic blowing off bullshit and people actually believe that shit merely because he has some piece of fucking paper that cost thousands of dollars to buy. All that paper means is that he is good at theories (unproven and most likely self serving bullshit). Most academics I have met are more full of pompous, self serving, closed minded bullshit and refuse to consider that what they learned from their books, was written by another full of shit 'scientist'.
