I also work in car service and have a lot of respect for the advisors. We have a lot of nice customers, but I have zero patience for the ones that are rude and entitled for no damn reason. Although I force myself to smile and bite my tongue, I give props to advisors for being patient and nice or standing their ground in a calm manner when needed. 👍

    Re TSA
These are low wage employees who know they are useless. It isn't surprising some turn into power tripping assholes. TSA is "security theater" that keeps nobody safe. Two things you might want to look up. First, TSA has an Instagram where they proudly post the stupid items they confiscate, e.g. grenade lighter. You can also look up their scores for the testing they get. They have a fail rate consistently in the 90 percents. Yes, that does mean they never catch anything testers sneak through security.
It must be an awful job. It's not surprising that the people are sometimes awful.
I also want to point out, the terrorist attempts we've had since 9-11 were foiled by passengers (underwear bomber, shoe bomber). No government agency or airline did anything to stop them. Their reactions afterward are just more security theater.
I fly frequently. I tell myself there are other security measures behind the scenes, profiling and stuff that's not politically correct. There must be! I acknowledge I have a hatred for TSA. I don't think it's unreasonable.

I'm not entirely sure if things are different for TSA and CBSA (Canadian equivalent) but it is against the rules for a CBSA officer to take things from travellers for themselves. You can get fined, fired or jail time if you get caught, and the fact that these guys tried to do it is disgusting.

Changing it back to the old tires was gold! Could have changed it to pro revenge by then calling the cops the moment the guy leaves the place.

These Compliance stories, are a great thread. These are on par with the pro revenge ones. I feel that, to be a good story. It has to have closure. Closure that supports the protagonist, preferably. But I could live with a story that ends on a bad note. As long as it ENDS. closure. Entitled parrent stories don't, end. They anger me. Compliance stories are soft and sweet and then, they end. I love em.

When I was flying home after getting my GSC Certification (Ground Security Coordinator) for the airline that I worked for I was lucky and got TSA Pre-Check and was happy because I wouldn't have to take my shoes off and would be expedited through screening. But when I got to the front of the line the TSA Agent working told me I had to take my shoes off. I tried to inform him:
"According to the AOSSP, since I have Pre-Check I don't have to."
    "What's that?"
    "... nevermind..."
The AOSSP is the manual that TSA issues out to airlines dictating what they can and cannot do, I even had a copy of it in my bag, but when the guy screening me doesn't know what his own manual is there's just no point in arguing.

That list of demands from the “polite British lady” is honest to god one of the most British things I’ve ever seen. I have family UK and I’m pretty positive I’ve heard of at least one member handling issues in a similar manner 😂😂

The human body contains more than half its weight in water, which is definitely more than 100ml.
Therefore, humans should not be allowed on planes.

TSA is either hilarious, annoying, or fine.
I remember when I was ten and my family was headed out somewhere (I think Texas), my black cowboy hat got stuck in the scanner. Someone misheard is as 'a CAT is stuck in the scanner' instead of a hat. A good few workers and my family laughed once we got it out, though a few workers did look a bit embarrassed.
Also, a good friend of family friends we travel with was leaving with us to hop from Hawaii to California, so she could fly back home to Germany. She gave my friend's dad her carry on bag so it could go ahead of her while she popped into the bathroom. TSA found 4 or 5 bottles of JIF peanut butter in her carry on! They were definitely surprised. Needless to say though, they were taken away. We later found out why she had them was because American peanut butter tastes so much better than German peanut butter.
TSA can be hilarious if given the right situation.

The last one should have called the police, before handing over the keys, and allowed them time to get in to position to pull him over the second he leaves the garage (for the bald tyres). That's how I would have played it. 😁

That is messed up about the security guy in Varadero. So many Canadians come through with big huge bubba bottles every day to the resorts in the beach. He just wanted the cute bottle.

First story.. Wtf? I have carried large empty bottles for years, never once had a problem, agents just confirm that it is empty. On that note, why would you regularly fly with a large, empty glass bottle in your bag? That would have a 300% chance of getting broken in your bag. OP mentions checking the bag, but also watching it go through the xray which is not how any airlines I've ever been on work.

I had a similar call when I was in training for customer service at a bank, guy was trying to scam $10k out of me, I kept telling him how thats not possible and I couldn't even do such a thing if it were. 4 hours. 4 goddamn hours of him yelling the same thing at me and me politely repeating the same thing. the last 2 hours were him sitting in silence and me trying to read the caller disconnect script only for him to say he isnt done before I finished and going silent again. when he finally hung up i was congratulated for my patience and sent to lunch, having already missed my first break.

In security desk i was asked of my onethird full plastic 330mL water bottle shall they throw it to garbage or do i want to destroy the evidence aka drink the water and continue with empty bottle. I did the latter and filled the bottle later in secured area from tap (our tapwater is pure everywhere in our country).
